yeah i found a guy who got ahold of 12 of the 3m 4 head signals. he wants 225 for each one. i talked him down to 125. debating on getting it. shipping is a cool 80 bucks
@suzzex There are bimodules that 3m made, however I made this one myself with two different color bulbs. The actual unit is very hard to find and when you do it is so pricey that I can not afford it.
The only one I ever saw was at the intersection of 79th and Pulaski. I am soon going to go and try to take video of that intersection. Those are really rare.
@Trafficlightjim We use to have a ton of those here in St. Louis, the last one (to my knowledge) was taken down about a year ago; replaced with a doghouse, just to be replaced with no turn signals at all. Such a waste of tax dollars...
I have made it myself. Since i only know of 2 in existance and club members own them. The other ones i know of are still in use in the Chicago area I am just waiting for them to be replaced out.
They change color with two color filters moved by a motor.

There are two separate color filters which are moved by a motor.

How does the arrow change from green to yellow even though it is in the same lens? These 3M's always confuse me!

@Trafficlightjim So is it two different bulbs or just one bulb that has the ability to change colors?

I grew up at a intersection(that is outside Chicago)that has those 3Ms, by the way. I didn't know that they stopped making those; I also wanted one.

Interesting 3M combination! I can just imagine how heavy these 3M traffic signals are to move around.

Very nice! I have a 3-section 3M and just weighed it last night: 67.8 pounds on the pole. They are heavy SOBs.

WOW!...that Heavy?

Yep. And people wonder why I hate moving it around. I like to keep it in one spot in the garage and only move it when necessary.

That, mah friend, is a FANTASTIC 3M HVS head!
Is that a bimodal section on the bottom?!
