  • I remember it like it was yesterday. That sunny Saturday afternoon will stay with me until I die. We rocked until early Sunday morning and everyone that was privileged to this great concert will all be a little wiser for doing so

  • If only I were alive when Live Aid happened. But after seeing as many different videos, I have come to this conclusion: Live Aid was the Queen Expierence featuring other acts.

  • it's over ITERNITY THOUSAAAAAAAAAAND!

  • If i were the police I would have said:

" Ladies and gentlement, boys and girls, the greatest 17 minutes of your life by the greatest band of all time, her majesty, THE QUEEN"

that sounds better to my ear....

  • That was simply AWESOME!

  • On that day, these four men showed to 72000 people (+other 2 billion on TV) what's the difference between simple music and pure art. They gave us a present: a unique presentantion. The best show ever.

Queen owned them all. Even Bob Geldof had to say that.

  • @romildo123

    absolutely right

  • 72000.

  • Some big ass crowd lol

  • and then....QUEEN proceeded to DESTROY every performance that day/night.....in england, and philly....everyone was DONE!

  • only the 2 police officers to present the world biggest gig of evertime of all mankind

  • haha make some noise

  • look at Griff! lol

  • Someone of you know how many people were in ?

  • It's honestly a crime how MTV botched the coverage of Live Aid in 1985, but the "coverage" of Live 8 was even worse. I really hope the director of each of those events was fired.

  • wrong 25 th anniversary this years it was in 1985

  • even at age 9 i could tell that the AMERICAN crowd was so stupid and corny. even then i could feel the energy from wembley......

  • Oh my dog, i would give up my life just to be there! =O Lots of people, lots of noise, lots of music! " Ladies and gentleman, her majesty, Queen" I think its says everything! =)

  • 1:47 - Jesus!

  • ahahah they're so funny. Great intro!

  • This intro. to my fav band gives me the flutters. GREAT idea to get these two comedians to welcome the kings of rock on stage.

Not to mention Freddie Mercury is way too addicting

  • Queen are just.... *too* good for words.

  • Why are they doing a Soundcheck if they weren't allowed?

  • they were. Just no playback, only real sound.

  • It was probably a super quick "get the fuck on then off " type soundcheck

  • LOL Freddie Mercury is imitating to Brian May at 3:00???

  • It's true. He looks so funny!!!

  • Oh yeah, I just noticed him kicking his feet up in the air as he ran.

  • loool

  • Nobody wanted to come on stage afterwards... words can't explain how good they were.

  • who where after them?

  • a video of david bowie and mick jagger.

  • I believe david bowie followed

  • °¨ ¸„ø¤º°¨„ø¤º°¨°º¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ º¤ø„¸

    Freddie is such a legend.

  • Who cares who followed. It was highlight of the concert when Queen came on.

    We have a complaint,

    from a woman in Belgium.

    ho-ho-ho

    Her Majesty, Queen!

  • the boogie wooogie music haha

  • damn!! I thought nobody had this part!! I had it in a Beta format tape that I recorded from the TV when the concert was broadcasted live...unfortunatelly I losted it...its great too see it again...specially for the part of "OUR MAJESTY.....QUEEN!!!"

  • I think this person taped it back when it was on. O_o';

  • Where did you find it?

  • all of this wasn't in the dvd...

  • so? there has to be a difference betwen dvd and live. no?

  • quite rare watching this

  • good reflexes on the air horn when he said we had a complaint about the noise.

  • david williams & matt lukas(little britten) are great comedians the same goes to smith & jones(not the 9 o clock news..and others)

  • If it was being held this year, it would be Walliams and that fat twat doing a comic turn between bands.. - Can't beat a bit of Smith and Jones.

  • It would be Ant and Dec probably..

  • You're right, people like Mel Smith and Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie and Alexi Sayle and Richard Curtis etc. etc. are really really really good comedy writers. Walliams and the village gay are kinda... not very good, frankly.

  • "We've had a complaint about the noise.... from a woman in belgium!"

"Please remember there may be older people around the area who aren't up to date with todays musical styles... Status Quo for example"

    Had me howling. Queen rule.

  • if thats yuu yu wer hot

  • well.........y'know........I try

  • forgot to mention, great day, as i recall, pissed down in the evening. geldofs mike packing in on rat trap, power loss when the who got on. we definately got a better deal than the crowd in philly

  • really is that you?

  • I'm affraid so, 13th July 1985, ticket cost £25.00. Bruce Springsteen was there the week before. I think that is my one and only TV appearence. Still, might as well make it a big audience. The hair is a touch greyer now and there are some lines here and there on the forehead

  • still it very cool to have seen all those great artist in that day.i have to ask you if you remember is the audio in these videos than the one you heard beeing in the crowd?

  • As I recall, the roadies doing the soundcheck as Smith and Jones are talking was exactly as heard in this video, I've seen other videos of Live Aid on You Tube and most are pretty accurate when it comes to the audio. There were a few glitches on the day (Geldof, Who, to name but 2, but it added to the fun

  • when mel introduces queen, camera pans to girl holding aloft scarf with 'queen works' on it. good looking bloke underneath, glancing to the left............that's me that is. 19 years old....... 41 now

  • Great!! I've been looking for this one!

  • Brilliant!

  • Very cool. I take it you recorded this on VHS back on that day?

  • Where'd you get the footage of all the sound checks?? I downloaded the unofficial DVD, and it had the introduction, but it didn't have any of the sound checks before it. Kind of amusing to see how much they do. But how could the audience not know Queen was next if they heard all the "radio" noises??? lol.

  • radio noises?...tht cud av been anything, as far as the crowd were concerned.

  • I mean the soundclips from Radio Ga Ga, you can hear a voice going "radio, radio" that sounds just like it did on the studio recording.

  • i got ya, i hear it now...sorry my mistake.

  • What the audience hears is not necessarily what is recorded in the TV truck... and anyway they knew who was next cos there was a schedule in the papers.

Everyone went nuts because they were told to wave at Phil Collins when he flew by in a helicopter, on his way to get on Concorde. The "coppers" obviously didn't know that.

  • Is that why the crowd cheered after the "Status Quo" remark?
