no its not entirely true ... uttam kumar got an attack while in the mid of this song, so a part of it is done by his look alike!

I think the whole song was performed by Uttam Kumar. However, for the part of the movie the voice of UK was not dubbed. That's what I know. However this was the last movie where he performed.

I agree. This was Uttam Kumar's last and unfinished film. The last scene in which he acted involved his going up and down the stairs (with some dialogue) with Santosh Dutta. Next day he drove himself to Belle Vue Clinic. He did not come back.

The director finished the movie by changing the screen play as well as by using a look-alike. This look alike looks much younger. And that fact was already known to the people when the movie was released 30 years ago when I first saw it.
