  • @retailgrl because he works for pitchfork

  • @retailgrl He died on a boat dock about 15 years ago.

  • @retailgrl who says he doesn't?

  • God I miss the 80s! No cellphones, or google to my past felonies.

  • Is that a rain coat?

    YES, IT IS!

  • I hope that in the future nobody performs incredibly painful and violent murders to Justin Bieber.

  • @KilldozerRocks ....dont worry no one in the future will remember that crap

  • 1:03 QUADS GET

  • This is one of the funniest scenes in movie history. The way bateman is just so GIDDY at the prospect or killing Paul is hilarious every time. I crack up every time he says "Yet it is!" He's just so happy.

  • Thumbs up if you paused it to see what the medicine bottle said

  • 1:03

  • Christian Bale is the most under rated actor of all time...he is BRILLIANT!!!!! Nobody could have done this role any better. I honestly dont even think Johnny Depp could have pulled this off like Bale, and Depp is my fav of all time

  • Christian Bale is the most under rated actor of all time...he is BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • Sabrina dont just stare at it eat it :D

  • I can't fap to this.

All these whores kept distracting me from Bateman...

  • 1:03 CHECK EM

  • I love how he blinks when he slams the glass down before killing Paul Allen

  • the whores turned me off

  • I'm seriously not a fanboy, because my opinion isn't worth squat - I rarely see new releases - but I can't help feeling that Bale, despite his personal life, is one of the greatest actors I've ever seen.... have you guys checked out 'Equilibrium'? Otherwise known as the British Matrix? ;-)

  • I could see Jim Carrey doing the first scene instead of Bale. lol

  • The movie is suppose to take play in 1987, but it cant be for these reason:

    1. When Prostitute in bathtub, u hear Simply Red "If you dont know me by now" playing which was releases May 1989

    2. In dance you hear Information Society "Pure Energy" playing which was not on radio til Late 1988

  • Early in the movie, Bateman comments that he is listening to the new Robert Palmer album. The song that's heard during this scene is "Simply Irresistible", which was on his album Heavy Nova, which came out in November 1988.. But the Ronald Reagan speech seen at the end of the movie occurred in early 1987, not 1988.

  • @Bucs211 And I think the movie itself is supposed to take place in 1989.

  • The roflaxe demands blood k thanx.

  • she made form of him for listening to and owning a whitney houston cd!

  • that paul allen murder scene reminds me so much of what it's like when you're hanging out intoxicated just chilling and one of the people around you starts getting really intense and it gets really uncomfortable.

  • man, why is embedding disabled? We live in the era of social networking and sharing!

  • 1:04 check my doubles.

  • the blonde is thinking: how much longer do we have to listen to this boring crap before we get to the boring sex?

  • LMAO at him acting like Jim Carrey in the beginning.

  • Being a huge obsessed fan of music, I would totally give reviews of my favorite bands before doing what Bateman does in the film lol

  • i love that song

  • "Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole." "Don't just stare at it, eat it." CLASSIC!

  • Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial, and therefore more satisfying in a narrower way!

  • 11 people touched the watch

  • 11 people didnt eat it!!

  • 1:07 Check em

  • 10 people didn't get reservations at Dorsia :)

  • The social satire the movie and book were is captured in these two scenes. If you have not seen the movie, this was its essence, not the over the top gore or shock. Those scenes were provided as a stark contrast of who he was and who he believed he was.

In the end you are left with the question, "Which of the polar personas was the most insane?"

The obsessively polished Bateman devoid of any sign of life, or the psychotic Bateman fulfilling all of his animal urges.

  • Check em at 1:03

  • Bale is honestly a tremendous actor...

  • once bateman starts talking about music you know you are in trouble

  • "Sabrina, Don't just look at it....eat it...." LOL

  • Their excuses to leave should have been that they had to return some videotapes.

  • does anyone think he sounds like data from star trek

  • Bateman minus the e...

  • Must... Listen... To Genesis...

  • bitches don't understand music ... KILL THEM KILL THEM ALL!

  • the character has two Robert longo's drawings!!! nice!!!! I'm liking this movie even more,,,

  • Ironic, that: "It's impossible to empathise with anyone else... you can always empathise with yourself."

If they knew about clinical psychiatry they would be screaming and running at this point; that's pretty much the psychopath's mantra.

  • The last one is the best.

  • Don't just stare at it, eat it. Best line of the movie.

  • pat is dope

  • 3:36 LMAO

  • Comment removed

  • 10 people are just staring at it

  • okay the mission: lock patrick bateman in a room with a radio and every cd known to man. Check back in a day he will have written a biography about every one of them.

  • @crazycrackhead12 That would be great, but we'd have to resurrect him first.

  • Anyone else getting Jim Carrey vibes from this?

  • Bateman`s killing sprees didn`t confirm his derangement.....but thinking post-1980 Genesis is better than pre-1980 Genesis certainly did....

  • @PXR05 abso-fucking-lutely. PETER GABRIEL

  • @1:03 DUBS!!

  • 10 people don't like to eat it.

  • christie bend down in your knees so that sabrina can see your asshole

  • @Lastknownuser Sabrina, don't just stare at it! Eat it!

  • "Sabrina, Don't just stare at it; eat it!"

  • 10 people stare at it, and don't eat it...

And Jesus Christ yes, CDs were on the market in the late '80s ("AP" is set in '89). My family was solidly Middle Class, had one by 1985/86, and I'd saved enough to purchase my first Discman in 1990.

  • @scarred2112 How well did those early CD players decks hold up? I remember '90's-era Discmans being sensitive to the touch........how far we've come.........

  • @SuperAdventures I can't speak for all brands from back then but a lot of the non-portable CD players were built very well in comparison to what you'd find nowadays

  • @SuperAdventures Mine held up extremely well. Mid-90's I purchased a "Car Discman" (extra resistant to heat/cold if left inside) that had so many in/outputs I was able to use to run my iPod into my car stereo w/o a Aux Input before that car moved on. And even in the early-2000 you could buy a portable player that could read CD-Rs which was a cheap "get-around" for around $25 USD. The times, they have changed... ;-D

  • at least he's got a great taste in music...

  • @blancman >thinking Collins-era Genesis is better than Gabriel-era Genesis

    >good taste

    nope.avi

  • the best thing about this movie is its got my fav. genre of music and my fav actor narrating his views on those music artistes

  • currently reading the book- iut fucks the mind

  • @ kittymouse

I remember having a discman in 92, so there's a good chance they were popular in snobish NY in mid/late 80s.

CDs were in the market since 82 and were invented in early 60s, so it's only the question of popularity :)

  • ahey Paul AAHHHH

  • "Whitney Huston CD"? And look at his rack of CDs This is set in the 1980s. Were they even invented yet? If they were, they weren't in common use.

  • @kittymouse86 Perhaps they were around but could only be acquired by rich people. After all, the recurring theme of Bateman being obsessed with wealth happens often throughout the movie

  • @kittymouse86 A friend of mine's Dad had a CD player when they were pretty new to the market, around '83-84. Cost about $900 just for the player. Can't remember how much a CD cost though.

  • @kittymouse86

There were CD player in the late eighties.

I had my first CD player in 1989 and my first CD then was collection of Elvis Presley songs.

  • @kittymouse86 duuur of course they were invented. they came out in the 80's

  • ‘Sussudio’ was the name of a video shop on Manhattan specialising in gentlemen’s special interest films of the rougher genre. To be a member, you needed to work on Wall Street, be a vice-president of your firm and pay with platinum AmEx.

The unwritten but strictly obeyed motto of Sussudio’s members was:

"Return your videocassettes on time - each and every time."

Failure to comply could result in severe penalties, even as drastic as mocking the lettering of offender's business card.

  • @impact0r

i just spat out coke at my keyboard laughing at that comment

    well played!

  • Hey paul!

  • don't know how he didn't get an Oscar for his performance...

  • Christie, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole.

  • is that a raincoat? yes it is! :D

  • 0:05 pause at it. See bateman's "Your opinion is wrong face" Bale is a brilliant actor for the subtle shit like that

  • His head got split.

    Checkem.

  • 10 people touched the watch.

  • 1:28 thats a phil collins solo album

  • This movie is ridiculous, no way Genesis' best album was Duke.

  • its hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks LOL

  • this is supposed to display his psychopathic nature, in how he is so fucking meticulous about music, and how he's like that about everything throughout the movie. $.02

  • 1:04

    Check 'em

  • 1:04

  • Sabrina, why don't you uh.. dance a little?

  • The uncut version is a little better, not a big difference. "Don't just stare at it, eat her asshole".

  • @TheToolatefrozen Good thing they changed it. "Eat it" is actually funny. "Eat her asshole" explains the joke.

  • d'you like phil collins?

  • Let's send Bateman to the music industry headquarters.

  • What's the song playing at 1:26?

  • @fyfytj

hi, it's hip to be square from huey lewis and the news!

  • @sgtsobel89- No, I meant the Phil Collins song right after it.

  • @fyfytj Genesis - In too deep.

whenever someone asks what the name of a song is i just have to find it for them for some reason.

  • @blank21121- Yes, me too. I guess we're just people pleasers :). And thanks for finding the song.

  • @fyfytj yeah...no problem. :)

  • i never though phil collins had such an effect on people?? lol

  • Patrick Bateman's favorite movie (and theatre play) of all time was The Rocky Horror Picture Show. His favorite character in the movie was Dr. Frank N. Furter, the alien transvestite mad scientist. In fact, Patrick hacking Paul Allen to death with an axe was similar to Frank hacking Eddie to death with a pickaxe.

  • Nice ass.

  • @Dalarna3- Nah Ah.

  • @fyfytj So, you wouldn't tap that?

  • @Dalarna3- Nope.

  • @fyfytj Oh, come on. I like em tight.

  • christian bale should have gotten an award for these scenes alone.

  • thats a really nice axe.

  • this movie is the reason that i walk around slaughtering inocent young girls !!

  • @47NOID- Then you keep fighting the good fight sir!

  • this movie is the reason that i walk around slaughter inocent young girls !!

  • 1:03 4CHAN SPAWN

  • I'll always feel this is his best movie, and they could not have picked a better actor for pat!

  • P. Bateman, Music Critic.

  • 4:29... he's like, "Whatever, bitch." and continues his passionate(?) monologue.

  • This is one of the best performances ever captured on film!

  • Money shot at 1:02

  • This is what would happen If Jim Carrey became a serial killer

  • can we get patrick bateman to write a book on the encyclopedia of music

  • Hahaha

  • Check 'em

  • You like.....this comment? This comment...

  • land of confusion lol another day in paradise,

  • Christian Bale really nailed the role. I forgot how funny this movie is.

  • why dont you bend over so that sabrina can see your asshole...

  • I think he choose it for a practicular reason. You should really look at the lyrics and compare it to the scene. He wasn't joking when he said it was a personal statement. It was really a reflection of his sentiments towards his competitor. I think he feelt that jared letos character was devalueing his lifestyle by being too similar to him. Also the music itself meshes very well with the charcters lifestyle.

  • @KurdishKlansman

Doesn´t he say, that its personal statement about the band itself??? I dont understand half yer saying???????
