  • Penso che sia un po troppo veloce.

  • One of my favourite Mozart works. I used to play this with my wife (horn and bassoon). Never did it this well though. However, I think it It's at its best when played on two bassoons. It was probably easier to play on a period bassoon rather than a modern one. That certainly applies for the concerto.

  • trills should be more relaxed and calmer...his sound like his stabbing me in the ears.. but again....this is,after all Klaus Thunemman the Mighty!

  • Just for the record, those trills in the main theme (Eb-F) are not very good on most bassoons (probably all bassoons). Besides, he's managing to fit a lot of note exchanges into each of those eighth notes and does it consistently every time, so...stfu And I happen to love this recording. He plays everything so cleanly and his ornamentations work beautifully.

  • tbh i could probably just about manage this if i tried im quiet good at the bassoon if u think about it take it slowly at first and then gradually get faster not hard atall just the scales are hard in this piece of music lol xx

  • KLAUS SUCKS!!!!!!!!

    GHA!!! THOSE TRILLS!!!!!!

    Whose cat is being strangled?!?!

  • I guess we can't all be as awesome of bassoon players as you

  • I'm not denying his talent... He's not bad! A lot more talented than I am! His trills just make me cringe!! His phrasing is a little sketchy at times too. My school's bassoon studio likes lo make fun of him on a regular basis for this. Mainly the trills, but also his playing in general. My teacher actually told me NOT to listen to this recording of the sonata (which I am playing for a music department convocation in a few weeks).

  • @nodnarbassoon His trills sound fine to me. Then again, I'm a cello player, not a bassoon player, so I really don't know what a bassoon trill is supposed to sound like.

  • @nodnarbassoon How is one supposed to trill then?

  • What an amazing basson player! Thank you so much for sharing, I love the combination of bassoon and cello. I didn't know Mozart had written for this combination as well, I'm excited, what a lovely piece!

  • This guy makes me look very very bad.

  • he makes us ALL look bad:)

  • I'm playing the bassoon part on my euphonium with my band director (he plays cello)..we do it for fun, it's a GREAT piece of music, loads of fun to play!

    Long Live Mozart!!!!!

  • what a lovely combination this one of fagot and cello

  • I DON't KNOW WHAT's WRONG WITH KLAUS!!! HE IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

  • This a great recording that sounds terribly familiar... But wait a minute, is the great German bassoonist and pedagogue, who produced most of Europe's finest bassoonists, aware that you posted HIS recording on this website without at least posting HIS name there???? I'm a bassoonist myself and a great fan of the guy! Greetings, Anotherbassoonist.

  • Great! Sounds very firm in the main theme

  • i think the bassoon player could be klaus thunemann...

  • This is definitely a Klaus Thunemann-version.

The sound Thunemann produces is unique, I never heard better!

  • So beautiful.....I love the cello and bassoon so much and hearing them together is uplifting.....Great combination of two bass instruments

  • So beautiful.....I love both the cello and the bassoon so much, and hearing them together just lifts my spirits....Great combination of two bass instruments :)

  • the bassoon player is VERY good!

  • This sounds so nice, i heard it on the radio a few days ago.
