@xoilovezacox no, simply by knowing the word swingout they know more about lindy than the judges. Lindy isn't is like the hip hop of the ballroom world, it's a social partner dance, so most ballroom dancers don't know much about it. Every lindy that night except for Chelsie left out the basic step of the dance, so like they said, this isn't lindy. Still very entertaining and they did a pretty good job considering their backgrounds.

There was absolutely no lindy hop in that dance. There was a whole lot of charleston for sure, but no lindy hop.

Where are the swingouts? It's just a bunch of Charleston and arials. I don't think the judges know what lindy hop is any more than the dancers do.

I was disappointed. Though they did include some elements to basic swing dancing, they were forgetting the most important element of the lindy hop itself, which is a move called the swing out. The swing out is the *foundation* of the dance and if you don't add it at least once, it is just swing dancing, not the more advanced lindy hop.

very much agreed on the overscored thing. i think the judges are giving a lot of the couples really high scores too early

Yes I agree, that was overscored. Maybe it should have gotten 3 9's but definitely not 10s.

personally a 29 and 30 in just week 4 is scoring all just too high. They are giving out perfect score marks way too early. Gilles is odds on to win and Mellisa might get second place.

Melissa was great!!! You could tell she was having a ball out there.  I think she works hard to prepare and then she can have fun when she performs.

i do have to say that tony and melissa did a good job though, it was a good dance, but I'm for Gilles and Cheryl
