for those of u saying there are more units in hard, remember many of the units are hallucinations, in fact at 3:25 on this video a sentry hallucinates an immortal on his face and he doesnt even notice...If you have trouble with this achievement i recommend you wait till u get the science vessel, should help a lot.

2. You assert that the 'terror squads' will not attack you, but in fact they will not only attack you first, but if you intercept them en route, they will stop and attack you.
3. At the 2nd base, there is only one collossus showing, but in hard mode there are at least 2.
4. You killed the mothership too quickly with only 16 vikings.
@shtroumf I tried beating this achievement after having viewed this video. The video is so inaccurate that if you try to follow this on hard mode you will fail miserably. I posted the discrepancies in order to discredit the video. It is not helpful in earning the achievement due to all the false information.
@chemao1978 do you have enough scv's mining minerals and gas?? do you pick up the minerals left behind by the fleeing colonists?? usually you want 3 scvs per mineral patch i go with 2 tho and 3 for the further to reach mineral patches.. so that's around 18 per mineral line.. (that's 8 mineral patches) hope that made any sense.. and yes an extra starport will help =)
@gr4ndhustle Nevermind, I found the easiest way to get this achievement, and all I need is 12 marines (to guard the base), 2 command centers, and 2 starports. I'm sure your method will certainly work well if I kept at it, but I wanted to find a less hectic way to do it so that's what I did. Thanks for your help. Attacking the second base from the bottom was a good idea. I can kill the second base before the purifier even kill the second colony. Tonight I'll try to rescue three colonies on hard:)
I noticed that the 2nd Nexus base has a ledge too that you can use, need to kill the colosus and watch out for raid going to your base that passes the 2nd base a bit, but it's basically the same tactic for the 2nd Nexus. Hope that helps a lil, because my vikings kept getting owned when i was trying to do it like in the video for that part.

I completed the whole campaign, but not all the achievements. If I open an earlier mission, i am not able to use the unlocked upgrades/units/mercs... How is that possible? Cuz in a lot of replays people DO use them in earlier missions. A N Y O N E knows what's up?

Tried clearing the south base first, going in with MMs, but my micro sucks and the templar and archons annihilate my force.
And, yes, the settlement in your base count indeed as one of those. So as long the NW settlement is alive, you are safe.
This is not how you get the achievement. You have to destroy the purifier before it can hit the middle settlement. Evacuating doesn't count you have to save the buildings.
@PliestoceneDreams you have to stop them from being purified aswell i think instead of just evacuated, i managed to kill purifier before it got to the 3rd base an i got ach for saving 2 colonies. I think the one at your base counts as 1 aswell.
@PliestoceneDreams evacuating the bases isn't saving the bases, its saving the citizens. Saving a base means it doesn't get destroyed by the purifier. Evacuating the citizens before the death squads hit them is purely optional and only serves to give you extra resources. The one base it is crediting you for is the civilian base within your own base. Simply destroy the purifier before it destroys the required number of civilian bases and you'll get the achievement. Hope this helps you!
Highly frustrating that the description of the achievement is somewhat misleading. I spent hours trying to stop the purifier before it destroyed the second base, quitting whenever I failed at that. Then I read the comments here and I realized how easy it is, you don't actually have to save the bases from the purifier, just as long as you help two bases get evacuated, and then destroy the purifier. Sigh.
nice video, i just tried it, i lost 5 vikings on the last nexus, and lost them all while tryin to save the people from the last camp, didn't have any force for the mother ship and the carriers, i got owned, i tried not saving the people but i still got owned by the mother ship and i don't think i would have had the achievement because the people died...
do you have any advice for the Haven's Fall achievement ? i manage to kill the thing before it is up but i loose my whole army everytime, can't build enough viking faster (from 2 starport with boost :s) and when i do my base gets crushed :s
i heard about a way to do it with ghosts and nukes but didn't try because of the overseer :s could you help ?
@pierreyveslaurent I assume you're talking about the hard difficulty one? You don't need nikes and what not. As soon as you start the match, turnt he port into a reactor and produce vikings. Take the 3 that you start with and take out the infestor structure and the air units closest to you. Mass up marines, medics, goliath and a few hellions and move to each base. Make sure you have like 12-15 vikings. Whenever they start taking over a base, just fly over and destroy the air units and infestors
@TToucanSSam i think you mixed the 2 missions ^^ I managed to get the achievement for the Fall of Heaven, it's Safe Heaven that gives me a hard time (yeas it's on Hard difficulty). I take out the 2 warp prisme and phoenixes with my 3 initial viking (2 in the red and 1 in yellow but with micro i save them all. With 7/8 viking i go to the south, i kill the prism and de colossus (the void ray kills one or 2 viking) but i get the nexus. With 10/12 viking i go to the south
@pierreyveslaurent @ the south, i stay on the outside to kill the warp prisms, the 2 carrieers, and the 2 void rays, i land on the outside, kill 2 zelots but the archons are just too powerfull and all my vikings that were in yellow / red die, i managed to kill the nexus, i'm left with 5/6 vikings + 5/6 that i was building @ base. i try to go for the mothership but the carrieres+stalkers +mothership weapon are way too powerfull.
this is a very good tip for anyone who may be stuck on this level, you can complete it very quickly AS soon as the nexus' are destroyed, previous to this level, if you do "Haven's Fall" and archive to do this one, you can upgrade the range of your vikings via the armory, if you do, simply send all your vikings "behind" the mothership, and attack it from max range, it will no retaliate

I am pretty sure there's a cliff to the left of the second base you destroyed you could take advantage of, just like in the first base. Nevertheless, you had very few casualties.

Is this a base next to my main ? What does that mean save a base ? Save from the the purifier or from the squad ?

TY so much! Worked like a charm! As to chemao who obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, and you others who can't micro:
1. Enemy vessels died the same for me on hard, its your micro.
2. The terror squads DON'T attack you as long as you don't over extend. Just wait for them to run into you at the edge and you're fine.
3. 1 Collossus if you don't over tease.
4. I killed it with 14 vikings, just have to dance.

I found some discrepancies in this video:
