The screams are meant to make us think that it's a live gig and not some silly lip sync pantomime because the tech wasn't able to record in those t.v. studios.

Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.
Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
Are you serious about the screams or are these just added in..... because it sounds like someone left the gate to the zoo unlocked overnight (with the exception of the zombies of course).
@JXSIDNEYX They ruined The Beatles on Ed Sullivan too...I think a Muzzle should be issued to teenage girls for TV tapings becaue real fans have to suffer with their screaming...and 40 years later WE are still listening while THEY are listening to Justin Bieber...it never ends.
they never cue any girls to scream that's how it was back then I would like to see any girls screaming like that today it will never happen like this again.
@MadEclectic Today girls are screaming for Justin Bieber. A few years ago girls were yelling for those German boys band called Tokio Hotel. They are all white.
So don't tell me that girls don't scream anymore for white boys. You now very damn well that your message is nothing more than propaganda for something really bad.
P.S. I like this music more than Techno or hiphop. So in that case you're sooo fucking right!!!
Why did girls used to scream like that?!? It's so insane. I also think Colin was, and it's a really cool song, but I just don't understand that unhinged screaming. It's so over the top.
never mind microphones ............ i didnt know they had wi fi guitars in the 60's ...... but brilliant all the same.......... one of my fave songs of all time
@notvalidcharacters The cue shot was more thought out then your united thumbs up. There is no electric piano on the stage and I prefer to see the drummer shot then faking a Mississippi Wurlitzer solo on an Italian Vox Continental organ.
Of course, the fact that you cant hear the music because of little girls soooooooo excited. It's like Hannah Montana. People scream during her concerts, and you can't understand what they're singing
What's in White's pocket? Looks like a raccoon tail. Hullabaloo always had such bizarre sets - here, stained glass lamps and girls on sofas. I seem to remember a bit for, maybe "California Dreamin", that had bathtubs and plumbing, and go-go dancers suddenly appear out of the bathtubs (and one of the guys starts hitting on one) - yes, that's on YouTube. Classic song, and great to see it like this.
Beck in the mid-sixties Esso (now Exxon) had a promotion saying that you would get a tiger in your tank with their gas, and they had a giveaway of these tiger tails, the idea being that you would hang one from your gas tank fill. It looks like one of those tiger tails.
I think we have to understnd this is 1965, the year of the screaming teenager - an almost concert ritual and maybe a precursor to sexual liberation of the latter 60s and early 70s. Of course these days most band singers would tell them to shut the hell up before proceeding.
the screams are adetriment to the musinc. The stupid teenagers should have had their heads cut off. that would have stoped the rest. They just needed an example. Music like this should not have been subjected to such anarchy.
There should be some way to get people to shut up before the song starts. Its pretty funny how obnoxious everyones screaming for the first minute. Also pretty irritating
They were probably Beatles fans trying to drown out the sound of the Zombies. And all those girls screaming at the Beatles actually loved the Zombies, which is why they tried to overpower the Beatles music with their wailing.
It's the only thing that makes sense, since no sane person would SCREAM at a musician they liked, especially when that musician was musicianizing.
I had some screems left over from the 60's when I saw the Zombies recently. Check out the Irving Plaza footage. These guys had it going on then and still do.
The screaming is unnerving. Girls don't scream like that at musicians now. They just yell "WOOOOOO!!", and you get the impression it's more because they're on tv than because they really love Panic at the Disco, or whatever. The 60s had a whole different level of that stuff, true hysteria. Zombiemania!
Hugely important song. Rock & Roll is what the kids said when our baby-boom numbers got us out of the adult squash-box for a few short years: it was all about young love succeeding. The adults killed it quick, but it bounced back for a few months: The Beatles - just a brief, beautiful echo. Then, "She's Not There" - the first premonition of "goth" - marked the decent guys' horrible realization: the girls are all being made crazy, despairing, vacuous, false, promiscuous.
