@foxxylover12 Thanks for the note. It is a fairly well-known fact that during the Civil war battle at Fredericksburg there was a splendid display of the Northern Lights - 38°18′6.5″N 77°28′15″W. Of course you would have to live out of the towns and cities to see the beauty of the Aurora Borealis nowadays as almost everywhere is sadly blighted by light pollution.
@AnfinnChr Thanks for the note. I have already stated that in a note from a year ago. Not all the photos are from the Faroes. Some are Norway and Sweden and the exact location of some of them is quite unknown to me . Not all the band are Faroese either but I hope this didn't spoil the music for you. :-)
When i first looked at the Faroe islands on a map, they looked like a couple of lame little rocks in the north sea...I didn't expect an entire ethnicity.
I sure that by now you will have discovered that the Faroes Islands comprise some 540 square miles of territory with a population of over 48,000 people who have an interesting history stretching back over a thousand years, their own language, a distinct identity and a lively modern society. :-)
Oh! Nice music. And the country(well not really a 100% country, it's still a part of Danmark) is really awesome! I love the landscapes of the Faroe Islands!
There were two pictures of Alesund, quite similar but one about thirty years old the other more recent. Which picture did you think was Geiranger? I don't have names for all the photos especially the ones with boats in them.
Sweet!! The tune had me tapping along on my desk. Love the drawing at the beginning and end and love the photos of the grass-thatched roofs.
At first I noticed the characteristic European quality of the coastal towns. Then I thought of some New England coastal towns that somewhat resemble them, especially in Maine. Interesting how the heritage crossed the ocean and took up similar residence in a new place.
Have you been able to digitize that tape for preservation?
Hi WhiteTiger333, The good news is that this tape is now available on CD as well. Yes I have recorded it to my hard drive (oops - should I even say that!)
uhm.... are those images taken in Heaven ? :P
