  • Fantastic I often sing this at work , but people say why does a 40 something sing that , or your singing like an old man , I reply it's an old song a good song and must be remebered .But really my Gran's name was Maud , and they would have sung it when she was young .

  • Zeshly: OMG! "The Bash Street Kids"! That brings back memories. I think it was called "When the Bell Rings" before that title came into being. Cant remember their names except for Smiffy - the one with his head always buried in his pullover. I always loved the written sound effects - such as "Flabby Thud" etc.

  • What beautiful audio equipment that is. Thank you for playing this. My grandmothers name was Maud and I'm sure my Grandfather would have sung this to her. I still miss her now to this day.

  • I first saw them on a tv programme [whickers world ?] and they sang we'll gather lilacs ,they were living in south africa and had run out of money so had to return to the uk and start performing again it was sad for them but I was hooked ,there ilk will never be seen again

  • You should hear the spoof version they did on IM SORRY I HAVENT A CLUE when Graham Garden sang it to the tune of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
