this game wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't with Banjo. Thats totally not what you as a Banjo Fan expect from a "sequel". If this game was released with some random guy as protagonism, it would appeal to those who like such games and not to disappointed Banjo Fans

I think it looks pretty good and I like how they used more phisics then what other games do and the fact you can be creative with making those things lets you use your imagonation a bit more then just having cars or planes that are already made for ya
The main thing that I'm mad about is that they made a driving game, then made it look like Banjo. If it was a completely different franchise, I wouldn't really care, but don't gut something that people grew up on.

Basically, ALL of them are awesome. I want them all back. Story? I don't know... ;-; Places... I also don't know. Why would rare bring a game from the 1980s and just have the same exact storyline over and over again? They cant always have the same style 20 years in row...it would get really boring...so all you 40 year old virgins stop complaining...the navy isnt going to bring back a biplane from the 1940s and add more guns to it are they?

Rare needs to understand that they are killing off their fans. Instead of focusing on "Kinect Sports", Rare should start developing a legit sequel to Conker's Bad Fur Day, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Banjo-Kazooie.
I swear I'm gonna start a petition for Nintendo to buy back Rare (I know it's already been done before, but I don't care).
Not as bad as most people make it out to be... but its not what made banjo games such classics. I understand rare was trying to do something different but they should have saved that for another game.. Now microsoft might not even want another banjo game, judging by the bitter sweet success of this game.
Just imagine a real banjo game running on this highly detailed engine.. that would be something :/

The game its fun but its a contradiction and an insult to what really Banjo Kazooie is. Just got this game a few days back, Its fucking fun as not the same as the old games however i didnt expect it to be the same. -_- This game is underrated and your creativity is what makes the game fun. I think the real reason everyone hates it, is because we all remember the 'old school' games to be way better than they actually were because of our age. I tried the demo, and I just can't play it. I don't want to. I honestly don't care about the vehicle part.

I'm sorry but i agree more with the GT review. The game is creative and looks great, but there is no platforming, the missions are shallow and short, there is WAY too much downtime, there is no platforming, the vehicle controls feel slippery, collecting and storing jiggies has become tedious, the magic wrench makes it difficult to lift things, and there is no platforming.
i have the old banjo and kazooie 1 and 2 in the N64 and i think the new one could of been just like the original 2 but it kind of intertan me just 2 hours and i got bored and that was just the demo
banjo kazooie and tooie were my favourite games from that generation and i couldnt even play this piece of shit for more than an hour, this is a completely different game with banjo kazooie's face on it, i cant believe i waited 8 years for this shit

Reusing the old can be a good thing. BK1 and BK2 were awesome, so it seems the formula worked. Very well. A third BK would be great. It's just when too many is made and it just gets repetitive... is the problem. (FF13 etc)

Iv played and loved every banjo game, but this is just stupid... I bought the game expecting it to have some vehicles but more based around its classic game style. And i laughed when the creater said modern age gamers dont want to run around and play games like the old banjo. Fuck the modern age gamers? They're a bunch of 12 year olds that don't respect or appretiate classic games.
Not a fan of the vehicle building thing, but it's not all bad, my biggest issue is that this game has really miniature text on some tvs like dead rising did so I can't read any of the text in the game without standing right in front of my tv

@janderson9413 Well, no. Rare made the game. It doesn't matter if Microsoft owned Rare or if Nintendo owned Rare. You could argue that the game would have been better if it was on the Wii, maybe, but you can't act like the quality would have necessarily been any different.
The only thing Microsoft had to do with the game is that Microsoft owns Rare. That's it.

I wish this game was actually like the original n64 games(as old as they were ^^), those were the best. The soundtracks and levels were amazing, when u beat a level u felt like u did something worthwhile, u had so much fun accomplishing these levels , when u were young u didn't appreciate this game for what it was because of such resent games. I love Banjo-Kazooie and i love racing games so i thought this game was great, but i can see why fans would be pissed if they were expecting a true sequel to the original games.
I agree that i would love another banjo kazooie old school "platformer", but this game isnt nearly as bad as people claim it to be. Though, i agree that the missions tend to get rather boring. its a good game overall, and people who are considering giving this game a try should definately do so.

I hate how this game got the "super paper Mario" treatment. It got bashed by reviewers and consumers just because it was different from the other games. It's a good game though, and people just can't get pass the fact that they tried to change the formula. If you haven't played this game, and you consider yourself creative, you will have a blast building vehicles.
@UltimateReviews1 Well I tried it, and I just am slightly disgusted by it. It was very different from the past games. This was not BK3. Just BK nuts and bolts. We wanted a continuation of the fighting style (the moves you had to learn), the platform adventure (jumping around); [Keep in mind you can't even fall to your death]... The characters don't really do what they always have done.

I personally thought this game was genius. First of its kind, and really enjoyable. Yes, its not the sequel we all wanted for BK, but it was a good game. If it had been the same game, but not BK themed, people probably wouldnt be hating on it so much.

i don't think this is a good review at all. i can make a better one in less than 400 characters. Nuts and bolt IS NOTHING LIKE THE PREVIOUS 2. it can be considered a completely different game just with stolen characters. you'll spend hours creating machines and then cry when they don't work. everyone in this game is dressed like a farmer and the last boss battle is not satisfying at all. kazooie also serves almost no purpose in this game. :/

It's not like with Spyro, where Insomniac, the creators of the first three games, left the production team COMPLETELY and we Spyro fans got stuck with glitchy, dark, and pretty stupid Spyro games.
Microsoft has nothing to do with the game looks now. It was Rare that decided to make it like that, and it also returned Banjo to his roots --- Diddy Kong Racing. It merely wasn't a plataformer, but that didn't make the game bad. Comparing a plataformer to a racing game is the same thing as comparing a Turn Based RPG with a First Person Shooter.
The game wasn't bad. It was cool. But it just wasn't as incredible Banjo & Kazooie and Tooie. You guys are ruining Banjo's name.

We weren't expecting Racing. Plus, I'm sure we WOULD have wanted DK racing too, but not like that. The races, the silly coin challenges, the balloons. Those are what we would have wanted in that.
Anyways, it seems fun, but it wasn't what we wanted. I also can't care less about vehicles. Or building them.
@SuperMario911 The game hit "Platinum Hits" status which means it sold at least 400,000 within it's first nine months of release. I for one think it's an awesome ambitious take on the series. We were lucky to get another console title with BK at all.
This was an amazing game, it's just not a platformer, for fucks sake, can't Rare do something different and fun? I have never had any technical issues like they mentioned(I've put in a hundred or more hours), and unless you're a complete idiot, you will realize you don't have to start from scratch when you mess up your design(he made it sound like you had to start over again when you tip over on a new design), normally it's just move this wheel one square over, and voila.

I wouldn't mind if they made a separate series with these mechanics(they worked quite nicely), but we're all itching to see a new platformer, and in a world where their prospects are getting dim(almost no platformers around), it'd be interesting to see how they pull it off.
you know, you really should try this game before you knock it.. I am a huge fan of BK and played the first two games thoroughly.. And while this game is VERY different, it is very rewarding if you put the time in to learn how to play it and open your mind to a different experience.. first and foremost, the game is BEAUTIFUL, one of the nicest looking games on Xbox360 in my opinion. The music is AWESOME, and if you open your mind to the experience this game has to offer, you will enjoy it.
@Csykes290 Omg yes, gorgeous game, both visually, and musically. I got the soundtrack on my computer and listen to it all the time. the orchestra that plays it reminds me of 90's childrens movies that I grew up on, but the actual tunes are that good old Banjo-Kazooie feel(as a matter of fact, there's one whole level that's a Banjo Museum, at 0:25, and plays a fully orchestrated version of the old tracks). I like the Alien level's track, that odd "alien humming" is just so weird and fits right in

The game is creative and looks great, but there is no platforming, the missions are shallow and short, there is WAY too much downtime, there is no platforming, the vehicle controls feel slippery, collecting and storing jiggies has become tedious, the magic wrench makes it difficult to lift things, and there is no platforming.

Reusing the old can be a good thing. BK1 and BK2 were awesome, so it seems the formula worked. Very well. A third BK would be great. It's just when too many is made and it just gets repetitive... is the problem. (FF13 etc)

Iv played and loved every banjo game, but this is just stupid... I bought the game expecting it to have some vehicles but more based around its classic game style. And i laughed when the creater said modern age gamers dont want to run around and play games like the old banjo. Fuck the modern age gamers? Not a fan of the vehicle building thing, but it's not all bad, my biggest issue is that this game has really miniature text on some tvs like dead rising did so I can't read any of the text in the game without standing right in front of my tv

I wish this game was actually like the original n64 games(as old as they were ^^), those were the best. The soundtracks and levels were amazing, when u beat a level u felt like u did something worthwhile, u had so much fun accomplishing these levels , when u were young u didn't appreciate this game for what it was because of such resent games. I agree that i would love another banjo kazooie old school "platformer", but this game isnt nearly as bad as people claim it to be. Though, i agree that the missions tend to get rather boring. its a good game overall, and people who are considering giving this game a try should definately do so.

I hate how this game got the "super paper Mario" treatment. It got bashed by reviewers and consumers just because it was different from the other games. It's a good game though, and people just can't get pass the fact that they tried to change the formula. If you haven't played this game, and you consider yourself creative, you will have a blast building vehicles.

@UltimateReviews1 Well I tried it, and I just am slightly disgusted by it. It was very different from the past games. This was not BK3. Just BK nuts and bolts. We wanted a continuation of the fighting style (the moves you had to learn), the platform adventure (jumping around); [Keep in mind you can't even fall to your death]... The characters don't really do what they always have done.
Grunty was the antagonist in the last two games, but here.. is she?

i don't think this is a good review at all. i can make a better one in less than 400 characters. Nuts and bolt IS NOTHING LIKE THE PREVIOUS 2. it can be considered a completely different game just with stolen characters. you'll spend hours creating machines and then cry when they don't work. everyone in this game is dressed like a farmer and the last boss battle is not satisfying at all. kazooie also serves almost no purpose in this game. :/

Microsoft has nothing to do with the game looks now. It was Rare that decided to make it like that, and it also returned Banjo to his roots --- Diddy Kong Racing. It merely wasn't a plataformer, but that didn't make the game bad. Comparing a plataformer to a racing game is the same thing as comparing a Turn Based RPG with a First Person Shooter.
The game wasn't bad. It was cool. But it just wasn't as incredible Banjo & Kazooie and Tooie. You guys are ruining Banjo's name.

@IlikeWafflesrs Really?... Well, I loved Diddy Kong Racing... ;-; But, this wasn't close to DK racing. Even so, we were expecting a platformer, in 3D. We were hyped for that. We weren't expecting Racing. Plus, I'm sure we WOULD have wanted DK racing too, but not like that. The races, the silly coin challenges, the balloons. Those are what we would have wanted in that.
Anyways, it seems fun, but it wasn't what we wanted. I also can't care less about vehicles. Or building them.

This was an amazing game, it's just not a platformer, for fucks sake, can't Rare do something different and fun? I have never had any technical issues like they mentioned(I've put in a hundred or more hours), and unless you're a complete idiot, you will realize you don't have to start from scratch when you mess up your design(he made it sound like you had to start over again when you tip over on a new design), normally it's just move this wheel one square over, and voila.

you know, you really should try this game before you knock it.. I am a huge fan of BK and played the first two games thoroughly.. And while this game is VERY different, it is very rewarding if you put the time in to learn how to play it and open your mind to a different experience.. first and foremost, the game is BEAUTIFUL, one of the nicest looking games on Xbox360 in my opinion. The music is AWESOME, and if you open your mind to the experience this game has to offer, you will enjoy it.

I got the soundtrack on my computer and listen to it all the time. the orchestra that plays it reminds me of 90's childrens movies that I grew up on, but the actual tunes are that good old Banjo-Kazooie feel(as a matter of fact, there's one whole level that's a Banjo Museum, at 0:25, and plays a fully orchestrated version of the old tracks). I like the Alien level's track, that odd "alien humming" is just so weird and fits right in

It just doesn't feel like Banjo Kazooie.
Most of the platforming elements are gone and You lost almost ALL of your move from the games. Instead you get a rather silly looking wrench.
It's an okay game, and the humor is still there, and a lot of characters from the cast are back which is great...
But it's just not a Banjo kazooie game.
