Turville was also the location for the amazing war film 'Went the Day Well?' (made in 1942) that imagines the Nazi invasion of a small English village and the stirring wartime documentary 'Christmas Under Fire' made in 1941. The trailer for 'Went the Day Well?' and the whole of 'Christmas Under Fire' are both available on the brilliant bfifilms channel.
I'm so delighted just watching this beautiful place, makes me very envious of those who come from such unique village and ofcourse the lovely fields surrounding this enchanted area!!!! Thanks for posting, love it very much so! A big fan of the Vicar here in the States too! ; )
Longtime fan of The Vicar....visited Turville in November 2007....no crowds. Walked around, took some photos and spent some pounds in the pub. The road to get to the village is SCARY to drive on...barely enough room for 1 vehicle and it isn't a one way!!

as a memeber of this village, we would apriciate it if you removed this video from the internet. We have enough tourists and coach parties as it is, this is not helping.
Perhaps you have considered writing to the BBC to ask them to stop showing repeats of The Vicar of Dibley? Perhaps ask ITV to destroy any copies of Goodnight Mr Tom? How about asking Disney to place an international ban on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? To suggest that my humble montage of photos is causing the village to be besieged by tourists is, quite frankly, laughable.
Well said. Tourists will go where they want to! My only problem is that pub, the Bull & Butcher says Turville it is in Oxfordshire when it's no! It's in Bucks.
I live about 5 miles from this lovely village Turville & have appeared in the church fete episode (the one with kylie minouge) as an extra. and also if anyone does not know the wind mill at the end of the video was used in chitty chitty bang bang. Turville was also used in the programme Goodnight Mister Tom, of which the scene in which tom has taken william and his friends fishing that river is a part of my fathers land next to my house. i have a collection of photographs of this being filmed.
I love this short video! A friend of mine and I were watching "The Vicar of Dibley" on DVD the other night. We were marvelling on how beautiful the village is where the show is filmed. I'd move there in a minute if I could manage it!
will be visiting Turville later this summer( if the Rain ever Stops)! my Fav Film to be Shot there was "Went the Day Well?" 1942 an Ealing Studios production, A Superb British Propaganda Film! its great that the Village has not Changed that much over 65 years! Looking forward to it.......
The music you can actually get free from a site called ez(dash)tracks dot com (I'm not allowed to post a URL!) If you register you get 100 free songs, they're mainly cover songs of current pop hits, the site is funded by advertising.
The song is "The Lord Is My Sheperd" credited to "101 String Orchestra".
I love the little town of "Dibley". The video was nice too.

Love this as I use to roll down the hill by the windmill as a child before they fenced it off. Have been back since with my husband.

I wish I could visit for about two weeks here. Looks wonderfully relaxing. I live in a small village now,but we are short of fields and animals.

BEAUTIFUL! Turville is wonderful. My wife an I were married in St Mary's (St Barnabus).
I also have been researching Cobstone mill for a few years.
