I think you are wonderfully helpful! I do not know how to knit, but want to learn, and I think I picked up 3 or 4 tips in this little video!! I'll watch your other videos!!
both sides of my knitting are showing bumpy, I am alternating rows but also I am working on a sock pattern with 5 dpn's (4 w/ stitches, a 5th to knit)... any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thank you! I've been knitting for nearly 30 years and I only ever knew the purl stitch! This is the first demonstration of the knit stitch that I've actually understood. I'll get there in the end. :o)
Thanks for this video!! Very helpful, and I don't hink you went too fast at all, you slowed down several times to illustrate the stitch. Thanks again!!!
Oh i love your accent :) and the way you explained this was really helpful :) I heart knitters. :D im making gloves and the instructions called for a stocking stitch and i had no idea what that was. well i did just im not used to the english names of the stitches. :D glad i came about your vid.
I'm new to knitting. This video was so helpful! Thank you! I find that my knit stitches are much tighter than my purl stitches. I still need a lot of practice :)
That's the stitching I use! However, I've noticed in your videos I've seen the way you hold the yarn in your right hand, as I only loop it around the first finger, I've never been taught the way to loop it around the other fingers. Would you happen to have a video that shows you how to hold the yarn that way?
To make a flat piece of fabric which has both sides smooth, you need to use a technique called 'double knitting'. It involves using two strands of yarn at the same time. If you search for double knitting, I'm sure you can find a good video on it. Good luck! Elsteffo
wow thank you so much. im just learning more complicated stitches and this has helped me immensely. and everyone is right. you move so quick! Thanks again!
This video is more a demonstration and explanation of stocking stitch itself, rather than the individual stitches. If you'd like to see a slower video of the knit stitch, watch my video 'How to Knit Basics - The Knit Stitch and Garter Stitch'. If you'd like to see a video about the purl stitch, watch my video 'How to Knit Basics - The Purl Stitch'. Have fun with your knitting! Elsteffo
First, I never saw anyone knit so quickly in my life!!! Thank you SO MUCH for making this stitch very clear to me, so quickly. You have also shown me the pearl stitch - I appreciate this very much!
I always wanted to learn stockinette and now I do! I got tired of making scarves using the garter stitch. It gets boring, you know? I'm going to fave this!
I really need to know how to prevent the rolling on the sides and bottom of the stockinette stitch. Can someone direct me to a video that can show me how to stop this? Thanks.
I don't know of a specific video that shows how to do it, but you can prevent curling by adding a border of garter stitch, moss stitch or seed stitch around the stocking stich fabric. About six rows at the top and bottom plus three to four stitches at the side will usually be enough to stop the curl. Good luck!
I'm so new to knitting watching you made me dizzy @_@. Going to check out your beginner vid.

Yes, I agree with perigo22. You're very thorough and work slowly, so that we can see. :)
