that cop was right those guys have an addiction and its sad they shouldnt be in jail tho that does nothing to help them it just puts them with other violent people these addicts should be getting treatment its a medical problem it should not be getting treated like a criminal one
As a recovering heroin/opiate addict I hope anyone going through the hell of addiction can eventually make a full recovery. Sadly it usually has to get to a point where living itself is unbearable, I know it did for me. I remember when oxy's first came out. It went from noone knowing about them in the general public, to the epidemic we have today. When they stopped making the 160 mg ones they should have stopped making the drug altogether imo.
@SuperStrik9 story sounds much like mine. i remember getting prescribed oxycontin(20mgs)when i hurt myself skateboarding. i mean i wasnt completely oblivious to oxy and hydro(that is why i got the oxy caz i told the doctor that i couldnt take APAP or aspirin)BUT; it deffinately wasnt a social thing. i graduated in 95 so it was a couple years after that. i used the pills for a couple days then had the rest till i remembered that they could help me get off sick years later! crazy time
please people, don't be too quick to judge an addict unless you have truly been in there shoes. my mother was severely addicted to OC and let me tell you it is not a pretty sight. she is out of rehab and a lot better now, but some effects can last forever and take a huge toll on families.
i did percoset for awhile (to get high). i was lucky i never upgraded to oc's although it came close and yet even with perks it got so bad that i thought about robbing people and pharmacies. as i said i'm lucky but i can only imagine for the poor souls that aren't. btw i'm a white, suburban, well off young man, scored 1850 on the SAT's and am in college. no one has the right to judge an addict
that officer is completely right! they dont want to hurt you but the withdrawals could be so intense that if you get in the way of them getting well or you getting hurt most would do the later.
I was on Oxy for over 2 years (medicinally, never to get "high"). Trying to quit 'Cold Turkey' is virtually impossible! I can only imagine what a high usage addict goes through if they can't get their stuff! Until you've been in their shoes NEVER judge an addict. Some pleasant, intelligent people can become addicted, and once hooked the Devil takes over...
I agree with you 100% I have been on these evil pills for almost three years now due to a very serious leg injury. I am not a horrible person, but this drug does take over your life - and you're right to say that no one should judge because if you had to walk (or limp in my case) a mile in someone else's shoes you would know how it feels!!!
@randy109 i love how you say not to get high...you were constantly buzzin feeling good...even if it is to make your "back pain" go away. you were high...
@randy109 they have medicine that they can prescribe which is ment to help stop opiate addiction (as oxycontin is an opiate). why didn't your doctor prescribe it to you? it's called suboxone it stops the withdrawls, which is the reason most opiate addicts cannot quit on their own, because they can't handle the withdrawl symptoms.
whats bad is sick people are getting their homes broken into by addicts. if crippled or sick its best not to keep a month supply in youre home. take a weeks worth at a time from the pharmacy and then go back when needed. cause if a whole months worth is stolen insurance will not cover stolen meds or meds lost in fires. you have to pay out of pocket. so youre looking at anywhere from 500 to a 1000 dollars out of pocket on meds alone. god bless

@dudewasabanana No one has the right to judge an addict, okay. However, I absolutely reserve the right to judge a criminal robber, addict or not.
