I have a quick question. Do the rules change at the national level/Vary from different parts of the U.S? I was always told that there are only supposed to be 2 people on the rope at the same time when crossing, and that the rope not supposed to touch the ground when the number 1 and number 8 person. cross the obstacle.
first half hitch on near side anchor point is not a complete half-hitch.....has a quick release tied into it.....saves massive amounts of time in constructing the bridge.....but is not correct
man u guys r good, but here is a couple things i saw. arent u only allwod to have 2 people on the rope bridge at one time, and u were already putin someone on b4 u tied ur safety not. and doesn't the farsidemen have to bulay u with the rope and u cant go ahead of the rope.
listen my skools radier team isnt very good, our drill team is amasing the got 8th place in masters at nationals in daytona last year and i was there. but this year i joined radiers to try something new and we are goin to raider nationals nxt year in georga and i was wondering if u can give me some tips on wat we should expect because this is the first time union high skool has ever been to raider nationals. plz comment me back. thank you
your rope bridge is a little different from ours. we dont get water :[ i wish we did it would make it wayy cooler. and our rope bridge is way longer lol. but good job. Your sergeant major sounds like my sergeant major ! haha ;
wow, lots of penalties, you guys did a great rope bridge, but im sure you got penalized for having to many people on the rope at one time, and for putting someone on the rope while the quick release and safety knots hadnt been tied.
Pretty cool. You guys get water! ^^ Where i live, our rope bridge is a lot shorter, but not super short. Males best time was like, 1:35 and females was 1:42. We girls were proud of that one! ^^
dude this was the raider comp with the most competition (obviously) i ever went to. Francis Lewis (or w/e the overall champ was) was ridiculous.
the way rope bridge worked was so dif to what we have always done. in reg comps, we were allowed to setup before hand instead of havin the rope just like in a circle. you guys^ were pretty damn quick, just couldnt get guys off quick bc of mud. but damn good job
hahah it seems like everyone likes to brag here... haha but im from NY the knots we do here are completely different then nationals. BUT wat i do recommend that it comes down to how fast your ppl cross, so practice that you'll see an improvement
Im a raider from Leavenworth high school and we do a lot of rope bridges. (experimenting with a different way to go faster) Good work with the rope bridge by the way. I was wondering, what knots you do at the far side?
This year at nationals we got third by 8 points! The reason is that our rope bridge was one of the worst weve done and that killed us in the long run. If we broke 2 mins like we always do in practice we would have won.

Correction, at the Raider Nationals, you can put on as many at a time as desired.
Criticalman 3 years ago
Yea, only suppose to have 2 on at a time, so their time got fucked
