anyone feel the lyrics are about themself? Every line applies to me emotionally, what ive recently been thinking about. people dancing around a pit, an empty space in my heart, "weeds" grow there, I'll set you free, slowly we unfurl, EVERY line, i swear.
I think when people criticize TKOL they forget that it isn't Radiohead's last album, they're always writing new music. If you like their old sound, check out The Daily Mail. That song is very much like their older ones and very awesome.
Love the keyboards during the first "chorus" (2:02). Kind of chiptune-like. Radiohead has managed to do something fresh again, free of obligation. Never mind that In Rainbows has been my personal favorite; we don't need more of the same. This is art that deserves as open of a perspective as that which created it.
@JoshuaJohnathonRose Check out In Rainbows then. Everytime I listen to a Radiohead album, I become more and more torn as to whether I like their old, fiery rock sound or their newer, chillier, more stark sound, and In Rainbows marries both parties delightfully. It's spacey, with lots of solitude, but it's also very warm and romantic.
These guys continue to impress me. Their musical character is so strong that they have completely lost control of it. These eight songs are probably going to be in my car until I'm married--and I won't turn it down if the kids are in the back seat.
i dont care wht anyone says tkol is a great album. its so abstract and haunting, gives me chills. any music that can give me chills is good music imo.
Nice beats with layers of crazy African/Jazz rhythms with emotional hooks... It's not a rock album really. I wonder how this is going to sound in a stadium? The sonic elements on this CD is very nice especially on the low end.
Music isn't about perfection, it's about expression. And I think Radiohead is able to express themselves better than almost any artist I've ever heard.
I wish people would stop comparing the new album with old albums. Let the new album stand by its own merits. Radiohead still puts out better music than 90% of the crap that is called music these days.
this is better than in rainbows but im not sure if its as gd as amnesiac or kid a.. maybe itl grow on me more, but none the less it cant at all be compared to ok computer or anything before it...
@MrBobbySasquatch it definetely has good songs and it grows on you, but thats an effortless album by radiohead. I mean it when i say they could be THE BEST band ever, but its like they even wont give it a try. Once radiohead were known for one thinq : seaking perfection . They just lost it on the way...
@FluxReflxKilla The album is slowly growing on me, but as for your comment, I can tell you haven't listened to much Radiohead. The King of Limbs just came out a couple of days ago. I'm pretty sure most real Radiohead fans know what I'm talking about when I say you can't go saying this album is their best. You on the other hand probably haven't listened to OK Computer, so don't waste my time.
dude, i have all of their albums on me, i listen to Radiohead ridiculously, my friends know me as a Radiohead fanatic. there's really nothing to argue about here, you're just ill informed. people wonder about the truth in the world, they look at the Bible or sum other stupid artificial shit, when the real truth is inside of you, waiting to break free. this is creativity. and thats all Radiohead cares about, letting it out in the most beautiful way possible.
@FluxReflxKilla I guess we're both ill informed. Radiohead is my favorite band and has been for years now. You should read the article about "Serious Listening" by Nitsuh Abebe. It's good shit in my opinion - which is what most of us share on YouTube - so you're welcome. I'm going To listen to TKOL some more now. Good talk.
I have listened to the entire album...and I do believe that this album is there masterpiece. Quite simply one of the greatest albums ever made...Radiohead is the greatest band ever conceived...yes, better than The Beatles
I think you went overboard with the Beatles thing although I respect your opinion. Anyway, I have to listen the whole album and read the reviews to give any critical reviews and opinions of this album.
@TheNewMoon333 whoa whoa whoa. not better than the beatles. but i will give credit where credit is due. radiohead is in the top 5 best bands easily. possibly second to the beatles. the way that they just capture your mind while you're listening is easily unmatched by ANY band today or for the past 20 years.
I 100% agree with your description about the album. They are getting older and i kinda felt they would go weird with this album and i love every minute of it!!!!!!
then listen to gdp that dude can express himself ha

I would love to see Mint Condition and Radio Head do an album together. They are clearly two of the best bands out.

Just to put mildly, Radiohead has probably been playing music since the egyptian pharaons or perhaps taught the mayas how read the sky
