As for harming others this is not allowed or expected. In an anarchist society robbery would not exist because property would not exist. Telephone, electricity and plumbing have been run reasonably sucessfully under an anarchist system (by the CNT during the Spanish Civil War). It would be possible to extend the Anarcho-Syndicalist form of amenity organization to internet service.

As for guns and cars I sort of agree, but I still believe these kinks can be worked out through a localization of power and production. If things were produced locally we would have less reliance on cars and if wealth was equalized and individual rights respected I suspect violent crime rates would see drop-off.

That brings up an interesting point. One of the founding fathers of anarchism, Pierre Proudhon was elected to the French National Assembly after the Revolution of 1848. He later became disillusioned with politics and decided that it was futile to try and change the system from the inside and I agree. If someone ran for president on a platform of government overthrow, I would laugh them off, they wouldn't have a chance in hell.

Government prevents people from achieving their full potential. It institutes private property, leaving those without property to suffer exploitation at the hands of capitalists. It builds armies to slaughter, not the enemies of the people, but the enemies of the current government. It robs the people via taxation and offers no services that the people themselves could not render. It has never protected peoples' freedoms, but instead blocked them from claiming additional freedoms.

The very concept of authority is a corrupting concept, both for those with and those without political authority. From a philosophical standpoint I am a firm believer that the only just authority is the individual's authority over his or her own actions.

As for harming others this is not allowed or expected. In an anarchist society robbery would not exist because property would not exist. Rape and murder would probably still remain, on a smaller scale of course. These people would be made to do extraordinary work for the community under the authority of the community security collective (think of the old English tythings) Offenders seen as dangerous could be put in syndically built and run prisons.

Zapatistas have (or declare to have, and some witnesses confirm) rotatory authorities and see the exercise of authority more as social work than anything. Their proclaimed basic principle is "mandar obedeciendo" (try to look that up). Of course, their situation is not "flawless": this form of government is topped by the EZLN (the guys that started the whole movement), an armed group where there is no rotation...

Precisely. The Zapatistas hold rotate their elected representitives from autonomous community to autonomous community to keep their politicians from becomming corrupt or consolidating power. Most laws and public works are decided on through direct democracy, a program expanded on by Argentine workers who temporarily (in 2001-2002 I believe) ran all of their political affairs through community assembly.
