One day, he could take no more. He left. Abandoned her raddled, dimpled flesh and felt-tip charts of quincunx rising for a hardcore arsefucking gay lifestyle.
Lee was heartbroken. She didn't miss the whinging, insecure, snivelling little fuckface but as a meal-ticket he'd left her bereft. Her lifelong dream of writing a book - Holly Johnson In Uranus - for Smash Hits by Xmas 84 - was now over.
And Lee's song for those tragic days? Self-pitying unoriginality from a fat bird. Funny, that.
Godda ledda here from a laydee. Id was love at firdst sight - he was an egotistical, self-absorbed, sexually-denying-and-perpetually-misleading-everyone-on 208 DJ who occasionally got on Raydio-Wuuun when standards dropped. A veree speshal man.
But things weren't easy for them. She was a flakey mentalist - a wibbley-wobbley hippy-dippy earth-mother who pretended to celeb astrology. But alas her charts never predicted either the Russell Grants nor Kenny Everetts of this world or of those beyond
this was a great segment everyday around 11 simon would do our tune the bbc should bring this back on television insted of radio with simon telling the storys sat as he was infront of a microphone . radio one is rubbish nowdays back then the djs where great simon bates steve wright DLT garry davis to name but a few
@2Steppa2 my god that would be great in the early 90's Iwas a lorry driver and everyday at 11 I found somwere to park no matter how busy I was it was our tune time .Ijust loved it .there was somthing about his voice that just made the sad story realy tug at the old hart strings.
@blobby1972 Yep, nobody else could have hosted that segment but Bates, he was tailor made for Our Tune. I think almost the whole country used to stop at 11 to listen. Can't imagine a radio programme having that effect these days........
the best days of radio 1 this, it was on at 10:45 or so sadly now radio one is dead, anyone can get a job there now after all you have to start at the bottem and work your way to a good radio station.
Appently Kenny was mates with the Beatles in the early days, used to hang around with Lenon a lot. What a great combo, Kenny E and 'Our Tune', two of yesteryears greats and all done in the best possible taste!!!
i thought he dropped anchor in poo bay?

I wish the BBC would release a series of 'Our Tune' stories from the 80's on a CD or download.
