Im 5' 6", im 14, turnin 15, fairly new to dirtbikes, would this bike fit me? is there a pewer limiter, because i dont want to spen $700-$1000 for a 50 cc bike, then in a year or less, ready to move up to a 125 which i wouldnt have the money for. Do you think i could handle it if i took it easy?
@sexybeast10ish i am 6ft. and 225lbs. i have a 91cr125 and it totes me just fine. if you have experience riding, sure go for a 250, but if you are not a seasoned rider a 250 is not a beginners bike. in my younger days i had a yz 250 and they can hurt you if you dont know how to handle them. i love 125 cuz it is powerful yet controlable.
does your foot ever catch the footpeg when kick starting the bike> i have the same bike and i have to put my foot at a weird angle to stop it from hitting the foot peg.

@soladetenis bought a cr 125 2004 with some problems for 650 $ needs only new sprocket new grips and im buying a front with lights for it so i can drive it around, this is in mexico, not sure about where you are. so 650$ plus 300 of extras and repairs thats 950$ so put about 1000$ total. but for a new runin cr 125 say 2003 and up will be atleast 1`500 or more

@soladetenis crf 230 4 stroke is a beast of a motorcylce but 2 strokes will always be better in my mind but i still give alot of credit to 4 stroke specially the crf 230 i oyu can buy the 230 i say buy it aslon as its under 3000 and its got papers and no problesm

TO FIX THE DING= Plug the intake side of pipe( tape or sawed off baseball bat. fill pipe with water and let freeze over night. let pipe thaw and presto....no ding due to expanding water!

@camoskill Every bike floods when u leave the fuel on overnight. U can blow ur self up that way my friends yz 125 ignited over it. Cr's dont fowl plugs ever. Im 14 and ride a xr 400 but im 6' 180 and 125s are great bikes but get a 98 or newer cuz alluminum frame is way lighter than older bikes. And gas is like any other 2 stroke honda mix it 40:1 and a tank lasts u like 50 miles and as far as starting it should start 1st or 2nd kick. Do not run synthetic oil it leaves a coating all over topend
how to fix the fatty pipe.. i forget where i heard this. ok so take the fatty off and plug one end with something so water cant get out. then fill the pipe about 3/4+ full of water. then cap off the other end. now put it in the freezer overnite and it should fix any dents you have.

How hard is it too find parts? How do i find the right mixture? How do you cold start it? How is it on gas? Can i get lots of upgrades.
@camoskill I'm 14 and just got a 125 sx and I'm 5'8" and it fits me pretty good.I do believe the seat on a Cr125 is about an inch or so taller but I think it could fit you if you are about my height.I always turn my fuel off every night.When you cold start it just turn the gas on(obviously),pull the choke,press the kick start down twice slowly and then give it a normal kick and it should start.
@camoskill heres my sugjestin for you!! first dont even bother with a 125 get a 250! i got a 2003 yz250 when i was 12. i jumped strait from a xr80 to it. i had rode a few 250 2 strokers,a few 450s,and a 125 before i got the yz and to be honest a 125 has no power at all and the 250 seemed to have just the right amount .im 15 now and can do anything i want on it. when i got the 250 i kept tipping it over because i was like 4'10" but i shaved my seat and have no problems sence.
@camoskill the only reason i got the yz250 was i only paid $1000 for it. if your short ill tell you how to shave the seat.right now im getting a 450 simply cuz 2 strokes dont have that much torque.i have never shut off my gas and have never had any problems with flooding or burndowns. i moded my 250 conciderably but they still dont make enough power! curently my 250 is running on c12 race fuel and is bored to a 280 with cut head.my 250 sucks gas down pretty quick! get a 250
@SavAgeTacOs7 should be an adjustment bolt of some sort on the rear shock. its a race bike so it shud be there alot of the other bikes like 100's and stuff arnt adjustable but all the race bikes are

dude sweet bike. i got an 01 and my pipe is dinged up much worse so i will have to try that trick ! and a tip to you: with the 2 stroke i wouldnt let it idle much because the plug will get gummed up with the oil mixture
@eminemdude5 cant you just take the plug out and blow that out with some compressed air? i might be buying a 2002 cr 125, and ill try that exhaust trick too if i get it
@landonu12 id take the pipe to some who knows what they are doing and have them blown out lol. otherwise that plug in the end that is holding the pressure will cause so serious damage. ive seen the go thru windsheilds

@jerryhowell9 yesterday i went to my local motorcross track and road a cr 125r i just had my friend hold the fender untill i went. its a very very very powerfull bike. i cleared a twenty foot tabletop like nothing.
ur right a cr 125r is a little big for a person that is 5,3 but i can still ride one.

You made the right choice. Hopefully you still have the cr. Mine is an 04. Rebuilt the whole thing. Better than ever and funner than f#$*. 2 strokes do rule. You should be ready for a rebuild by now. Cheaper and more fun than a new bike.

dude sweet bike. i got an 01 and my pipe is dinged up much worse so i will have to try that trick ! and a tip to you: with the 2 stroke i wouldnt let it idle much because the plug will get gummed up with the oil mixture

@landonu12 id take the pipe to some who knows what they are doing and have them blown out lol. otherwise that plug in the end that is holding the pressure will cause so serious damage. ive seen the go thru windsheilds

i dont want to sound like a loser but seriously how much faster is a 2 stroke than a 4 stroke? ive never been really well known on that but i just like to ride dirt bikes, and ive always had a 4 stroke, i have the chance to get an 03 cr125 myself, ive ridden a kawasaki 140l 4 stroke and i just wanted to know how much faster 2 strokes are. =) thanks- im a female rider about 5'6 too.

@landonu12...I'd like to think I could but I'm nervous about the seat height really and not being able to touch the ground good if I get going too far, I've ridden my brothers yamaha 230 and I'm a little bit tippy toed, Isn't this 125 seats height like 37 inches? the 230 is about 34 lol so I'd have to really check it out. @jerryhowell9 yesterday i went to my local motorcross track and road a cr 125r i just had my friend hold the fender untill i went. its a very very very powerfull bike. i cleared a twenty foot tabletop like nothing.
ur right a cr 125r is a little big for a person that is 5,3 but i can still ride one.

You made the right choice. Hopefully you still have the cr. Mine is an 04. Rebuilt the whole thing. Better than ever and funner than f#$*. 2 strokes do rule. You should be ready for a rebuild by now. Cheaper and more fun than a new bike.
