Bebot is NOT a derogatory term for women. It simply means "girl;lady;woman;female". Its counterpart is Kelot "boy;gentleman;man;male". Bebot & kelot are "kanto" words (popular during the 60's & 70's), but rarely used by the new generation of pinoys. Apl sorta resurrected the term.

this is a sentiment shared by a lot of people, especially in wake of that open letter. because of these contradictions, though, it'll allow us to be more sharper and critical as to why this song was made in the first place, video or no video. having a visual made really does make a difference for this song in particular. i think it brings a lot of interesting conversations that we should all be having amougnst each other, and how we can help and support each other through constructive criticism.
