no color-keying. we filmed the wholething two times. first with nothing but the wall and second with a guy catching the ball and throwing it. then we cropped the wall, pastet it at the position where the guy stands and animated the ball in that area. PS: you can see his feet at the end of the clip. the ball also gets a little luma-trouble.
