  • I met Elvis, then I woke up. Worst best dream I ever had - the waking up part, obviously. This is great; thanks for sharing!!!!

  • @Sirgreaseflick I went to this random weird place where I saw Elvis and then woke up...shit

  • I met Elvis @ Graceland on July 4th, 1969, just inside the gates for public autographs. Anyone there to remember, please IM me. Thanks.

  • great video , many thnaks for uploading it.

  • Thanks for uploading, I've seen this before in poorer quality :)

  • It's very obviously 1971, as he:

    a) Never wore this suit in 1970.

    b) Never performed "The Impossible Dream" at any shows in 1970, as he can be seen doing here.

THIS IS NOT THE SUIT WORN AT OPENING NIGHT AUGUST 1970.

  • By the way, when I first got it the film was presented as being from Feb '71 but, of course, such descriptions were not very reliable; I've also long wondered if it was shot by a TV station 'cos it's not bad for the era and I remember, decades ago, seeing reference to about this many minutes worth of a February show being filmed by a TV crew.

  • It's February, 1971 in Las Vegas...99% sure of that. The 1% doubt is that it's actually from August BUT Elvis looks a bit different and he very obviously ends the show with "The Impossible Dream" as he did in the first season.

  • @NoCoolNamesAvailable

This is August 1970, not 1971. Joe Esposito

  • @jhowej3

No, it really IS 1971. Elvis didn't have this suit in 1970 and he's using the re-16 microphone he used in '71, not the re-15 he had in 1970. Also, again, he finished with "The Impossible Dream," a song he performed for the first time n January 26, 1970 and in that first 1971 season used to close many of his shows (very unusual).

  • This isn't the short fringe suit that's seen in "That's The Way It Is," even if it kind of looks like it (though that suit had no fringes on the arms or legs); it's the 'knot' or 'tassle' suit that has paired eyelets spread across the chest and running down the back of the arms and the sides of the body, each one sporting a soutache tassle, a length of cord tied across the pair of eyelets and dangling to form a kind of diffuse fringe effect. it's a very rarely-seen suit.

  • This is from 1970 not 1971!!!

  • @MrMarkg2001 it is from 1971

  • I saw this footage before on VHS...

But are you sure it's from 1971, and not 1970?

  • One of a kind... nobody like him... the KING lives on!

  • they should of filmed this fottage and made it on video

  • @cafcwebbluke i agree also why wasnt opening night 1969 filmed. BAD management i think

  • R I p the King lives on!... Pdh

  • WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Despite having lots of awesome Elvis footage from 1970,1972 and 1973,I often feel that the best of Elvis was not captured on professional camera, such as 1971.This is great footage.

  • The unbeatable King!!

  • a suit that elvis is wearing is knot suit and it was use only in 1971!!!

  • @archa9410

Elvis is wearing the same jumpsuit from the August 70 Engagement on Opening night. He wore it 4 times during the August 70 engagement. jhowe. LV Hilton historian.

  • Different Suit, first thought it was one he wore at L.A. Forum, with the fringe/cape removed...

  • Great 5 *****

    Thanks knowingElvis for sharing

  • AWESOME!

  • Awesome!

  • Great!!! It is really from 1971?? Others told it is a TTWII outtake, I'm confused. LOL... I think they didn't use silent footage (8 mm) when he made TTWII.

  • @cibetty

Betty this is from the 70 August engagement. jhowe. LV Hilton, historian

  • Awesome footage,thanks KnowingElvis for sharing 5*

  • sorry folks but this footage is not from 1971..its an outtake from the movie ELVİS-TTWII 1970.i had wish also from 71 but its not...its just an outtake from TWII...T.C.B

  • This is from February, 1971, possibly shot by a local TV crew in Vegas. He's wearing a very rarely-worn suit (never worn outside Vegas, and I don't think there're any photos of him in it) that's covered in tassles like the fringes on the arms. This is NOT the same fringed suit Elvis wore in 1970, seen in "That's The Way It Is" -- for one thing, that had no fringes on the arms, and Elvis did not wear necklaces on stage then.

  • 00 15 is thats the way it is

  • i canot remember him wearing that scarf and having fringes hang from his arm

  • look at his weight im not sayin his fat

  • look at his fucking hair dude its 71

  • it is thats the way it is 1970 look at his jumpsuit and his hair

  • this is 1970 thats the way it is footage

  • thats the wat it is was filmed in 1970 wasnt it johnny?

  • yes.

  • this footage is from 71 so it wouldnt be thats the way it is..right

  • awesome

  • Very nice footage! I enjoyed it! thanks.

  • very very rare footage from 1971 thank you soo much!!! GREAT!!!

would you happen to have more of this footage from jan. or feb. 1971?

  • Pretty nice, I like it!!!
