one jet or two jets on this plane

  • Damm that plane has a big nose!

  • Look like a flying moonie.

  • you have successfully seceded in creating a useless VTOL aircraft...

  • @jjswimmer2014 why useless?

  • @JaycubL VTOL is not a new science it is inefficient and that plane is far to Small to be used for any thing but personal travel, but now it is louder more expensive and much more dangerous.

  • @jjswimmer2014 But you don't need a runway. It would be like a really fast and efficient helicopter (efficient when in aerodynamic flight). No this isn't the first of it's kind but that does not make it useless.

  • dude you guys are so negative....how couldn't congrats someone for a hard work?

    Its all about edication :)

Have a great one you all

  • I'll take a harrier av8b over this any day.

  • yeah u dont wanna get sucked up in there!

  • It's a Cesna with BAAAAAD rinoplasty

  • Did you see all that snot in its nostrils :)

  • Brazilians congratulating your amazing job clap clap :)

  • @GraceBarra You mum didnt say that last night!

  • Cool! Fugly airplane though...

  • military aircraft v tol

  • I used to drive by that thing in El Cajon, CA all the time and wondered what it was. Now I know...pigs can fly!

  • How often do you clean the boogers out of the front?

  • piggybird

  • AH...CHOO!!

  • its stability is impressive bit get an extra wheel at the back if it was not for that cable you`d have fallen back off the platform. nice work. UK did it first =D

  • @lykenth08 First British vector thrust VTOL airplane the Hawker P.1127 October 1960. Yanks did vector thrust first ( x-14, Feb 1957 ), although it did used the Rolls Royce flying bedstead idea of bleeding air from the engines to thrusters at the extremity of the aircraft for stability. Admittedly it was only an experimental aircraft to test if vector thrusting worked and was never intended for development into a service aircraft.

  • É INFLAVEL

  • The Waxman-mobile...

  • we did it first.....harrier all the way, pitty our government have mothballed it

  • And it also doubles as an upright vacuum cleaner.

  • Looks really stable. Is that the pilot, or Bill Gates keeping it the right way up? Thought your Marines already had a successsful VTOL plane?

  • amazing

  • One real UGLY bird!!!

  • you can actually see air that goes in!

  • This looks like it's using scram tech, is it?

  • You kids are just too darned loud!

  • piiiiiiiiigs in space!

  • @SKABILIS Hell yea, I got that stuff on LP!

  • you just need a one crazy billionaire to flood youtube with videos of ufo believers,

best is to fly with two friends in triangle formation...

  • hard lending

  • Good night Mrs Calabash

  • 0:58 you can see the cocaine going in.

  • It looks like a hippo ;)

  • I have see some write mist in the in let

    is it shock wave?

  • Bell Aircraft X-14A: "Been there, done that. Way back in 1957." ;)

It's neat to see a more modern and working clone though.

  • @pauljs75 Gotta agree with that. The first thing I thought when I saw this was, "How old is this footage?" I thought it looked an awful lot like the X-14 as well.

  • You know, the take off was very smooth, but the landing was terrible. I keep expecting it to sneeze and fly off backwards!

  • aweful. That thing is a nightmare. Is that the future? lmao. If you want an overpriced vacuum that suck 50 dollars of fuel a second. You got it. Low energy thinking and design. Nothing techologically superior. I have seen more impressive RC toys. Sorry but this is the FUTURE. Try electromagnetic lift. I mean that is old school what you got there.? Burt Retan is laughing right now.

  • lets see you fly that from your i phone...

  • It'd make one hell of a vacuum cleaner!

  • That is some big ass nostrils dude!

  • DONT THEY HAVE THE HARREER AND THE F35 FOR THAT

  • the pig is preparing to sneeze

  • I thought they invented the harrier jet a long time ago ?

    WTF ?

  • Jewcraft! Air is free!

  • @ragonamuffin lolololl

  • @ragonamuffin whahahahah

  • Yayy, I can´t wait for my stupid neighbor to sell his motorbike and get one of these. Then he can wake up the whole city instead of the street.

  • ME163, but better!

  • OINK!!!

  • looks like a flying pig nose

  • The thin wire suspending this device is very cunningly hidden.

Excellent special effects work, you should consider working for Industrial Light and Magic.

  • 1:19 loks like it took in some f its own hot exhaust and lost power. Also look at the nose wheel it almst collapsed lol nice vid 5/5

  • looks like a radioactive penis!

  • what for?

  • awesome, but at 1:24 it almost rotatesbackwards, wouldn't want to have too much weight in the rear on landing?

  • i think this looks great, would be good if we could replace cars with things like this and make it all Computer controlled.. World wide car crashes would be like 5 per year World wide

  • @dabois85 yeah and wed have a massive fuel problem, and if ur gonna say lets try it on the ground... we would have reinvented the train only less efficiently, if you ask me i say destroy all cars and motorways and replace them with maglev trains. faster safer and in the near future more environmentally friendly

  • Looks like my mom when she is pissed off.

  • Looks like a nose with wings.....

  • pig plane.

  • Ugggg Lee.

  • Looks like it almost fell on it's ass! lol!!

  • "Are we there yet?"

  • what happens when it sucks up a bird

  • Comment removed

  • The little piglet that could! Look at him go!

  • This is an old concept first made in the early 1950's. One thing that haven't change much, its still ugly as hell.

  • this would go nice on my boat ----:}

  • Amy winehouse jet FTW

  • nickname: Porky

  • a pigplane.

  • LOL, agree!!

  • @bucktheusa hmmm i didnt know dupont aerospace was government funded. idiot....

  • @bucktheusa well doesnt look like government military is testing it and if it were obviously must be replacing something or would be scrubbed

  • @bucktheusa I believe it was closer to $63 Million, but it was money well spent.

  • @bucktheusa Yeah duPont is one of the branches of our military.

  • @bucktheusa

    LMAO!

  • @bucktheusa hahaha....agreed mate...

  • It's going to snort up all the coke in Columbia and sneeze it out in the U.S.

  • @bucktheusa Oh, the CIA is buying them, i was wondering..

  • I Want One

  • ugly piece of shit

  • @pyrexian04, it looks better then what you can build.

  • WHAT A WASTE OF GAS

  • thrust from the front leading downward?

  • Magnets would be a great idea, but incase of emergency landings or such magnets wouldnt help

  • what happens when this thing sneezes

  • @urfate lol

  • @urfate eeeew... nasty thought there. :P

  • @urfate then down u go sorry

  • is called reverse...

  • does this VTOL make my nose look big?

  • wait lol....is this thing using propellers? why not just use magnets and skip the noise, fuel, oil, etc

  • i dont see propellers on it. How do you imagine using magnets to take off from anywhere and land anywhere? the earth surface is not magnetic, it does not repel magnets.

  • @frederic470, well it depends on how powerfull the magnets are. if earth's surface isnt magnetic, then tell me how earth spins then, and the pushing force from the moon occurs.

  • Momentum from the time when Earth was formed and Gravity, respectivly...

There isn't any magnet that can interact with the earth's magnetosphere, it's just too weak...

  • looks like a giant flying cow nose to me...

  • i wonder how the keep the hot gases form bgeing ingested back into the engine

  • @amediastintas Good question. If you'll notice, the tether straps are not fluttering around (before they get tension) nor is that yellow ribbon in the foreground. You would think the exhaust gas would be spreading out on the platform but there's a good chance that it's a vented platform. Just can't see it from that angle. This is probably why it's a raised platform.

  • good thinking. thats a great way to do some low test flight hovers without risking the engine shutting down.

  • The British Harriers encounter this problem but it's only a brief compression stall. Even though the hot nozzles are at the back, some exhaust gets ingested and they experience "pop stalls." Just a very brief popping of fire out the hot nozzle.

Front nozzles are actually fan output. BTW. I think the F 35 did it first tests this way (vented platform)

  • Hey I livein el cajon I used t go to pepper but now im in birmingham alabama

    whas this at gillespie field

  • Airef fortex?

  • private organizations will never make any aerospace achivement. for example this aircraft looks like soviet experimental Yak-36 from 50'es. I'm sure goverments of countries can develop such projects more effective

  • dont agree. soon this kind of technology will be common knowlegde. as all technology has become in the past and private organizations will profit from it.

  • I'm sure Mr. Richard Branson disagrees with you.

This thing looks like a big nose though!

Blow that nose. BLOW IT! XD

  • nice

    $400 ?

  • is nice.

  • Great test but that is the first time I have ever seen an aircraft with a nose job.

  • i noticed something... there should be a great deal of thrust downwards and out to all directions.... therefore ropes should be vibrating to outwards direction... right? So why don't they ;)

  • It's not on a sloid surface. Its on a grid with a "hover pit" below it. The air isn't pushed sideways until it hits the bottom of that pit

  • lookat the trees in the back ground there's quite a cross wind going on either that or the raised plat form is vented to limit the ground effect destabalisions, its a thought :)

  • mea culpa... you' re both right :)

  • We all would, Billman2112!

But you must walk before you run, or in this case, crawl before you walk or fly.

    That was NEAT!!!

  • looks so amazing but the landing was badass

  • Where can I buy one? I have extra $400.000.00 on the side and I think. I should buy this plane.

  • You're dreaming, you can't even afford a nice light twin with piston engines. $400,000 in the world of aircraft makes you pretty much a nobody :-)

  • @toranamunter, i never play that stupid game. its a waste of time and memory. It decreases your computer's performance. And im talking about real life. I recently won the lottery and has alot of money left off, so i decided to go to youtube and search for interesting hovering vehicles, and this caught my interest, which is why i said i want to buy it. thats why i posted that comment. So just forget that statement or i will summon the constible. Now good day!!!

  • er, I have no idea why you're talking about computer games, I never mentioned it. What I'm telling you is this aircraft is worth many millions of dollars. $400,000 is probably a lot of money to you, but to an aircraft manufacturer it's nothing. You could buy a small twin engined piston aircraft for that, which isn't really suitable for a beginner pilot anyway. Go and get a licence first, you'll learn a lot about aircraft, and are a lot less likely to get ripped off (aviation loves n00bs with $)

  • @toranamunter and stop wasting your time reading comments from long time ago. waste of your life to see those forgotten comments. Get a life.

  • Looks like a hippo, but stable. Good job. Would like to see a flight test w/o the tie downs.

  • I actualy think that this plane is beautiful.

  • i dont know if beatiful, but looks cool!, seems to come from a japanese manga scene

  • a big nose :D

  • I think that would suck up the neighbors kids

  • ugly

  • i love it!

  • i want one

  • Congrats Dupont: The PIGNOSE Cesna. Did you guys design the Pontiac Aztrek too? wow. You have engineered your way back to 1976.

Dear senator, Please send my tax dollars to Dr. Moller and the m400 air car instead.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, I want it if I got money.

  • take them ropes off and let that shit away please..

  • I read a lot of the comments about this video,,,,pissed my pants and hit the floor,,,,thanks to those who wrote them,,,I havnt laughed that hard in a long time!!!!!!!!!

  • I had no idea that DuPont had an aerospace devision, other than chemicals and polymers used in aerospace manufacturing.

  • looks like human nose.

  • how is it hovering? is there those things below the plane or just infront? cause if its infront then lmao..

  • dude the thrust goes twords the back where there are exhoust like fins that can move down and back up it makes the thrust go from heading backwords to heading straight down.... seriously are you that retarded you didnt know even that look at the harrier same fucking thing retard

  • And there went 10 gallons of jet fuel.

  • You just built a Harrier Jet.

  • why does it have testicles?

  • lol

  • finally a reaL step towards flying cars

  • is looks fucking ugly

  • take them ropes off there and i bet itll fly around!

  • for the first run i runs very well high stabylity in the air

  • HEHEHEHHE LOL

  • wow one ugly ass plane

  • True but it looks like an affordable alternative to the civilian version of the T-37 AND vertical takeoff? Man, that would be cool.

  • And if you crash you destroy your plane AND your home! ;-)

  • now it became true what greenpeace tells: "earth is flat, pigs can fly and nuclear power is safe"

  • The developer didn't even release the video of this thing hovering that long until after the Pentagon pulled all funding because he couldn't keep it in the air. KUSI had a big article on this.

  • Sure is ugly lol. Its nose looks like a pig's snout

  • ok this particular aircraft looks like a waste of money!

  • Yah sure when pigs can fly.

  • That very nearly toppled over onto it's tail.

Being a VTOL jet it probably has to have all of it's weight evenly spread around the jet exhaust at the centre to avoid imbalance, and having the engines up at the front is not the right way to go about it. As he cuts the engine power the hotter exhaust at the back drops away but the cold exhaust at the front keeps going.

I wouldn't want to sit in the pilot's seat of that thing unless the previous occupant has wiped it.

  • it may be pinkys ribs on the runs new delivery jet at leas the pizza or ribs wont get cold by the time you get them pinkys thats the one

  • It looks like a cesna with giant nostrils... hehe

  • HOW CUTE IS THAT xD

  • it looks like a pig's face

  • I'd paint it like a big pink pig plane.

  • I hearby name this ship the Pignose.

  • couldent they make it look any better than that ?

  • sounds like its using a lot of gas, cool though

  • haha only a "few" bucks spent on this POS program
