Twilight and Harry Potter don't interest me at all. They just don't sound that appealing. I have to admit that the Breaking Dawn movie has a cool plot to it. Well, techniqually the original lore has changed over the centuries. In much older adaptions, vampires could walk in sunlight, but they would either be weaker or it would be a bad idea because they would appear hideous and grotesque (like a zombie). But over the years, the media has found ways to mutate the original lore to make it more appealing to the masses.

you realise, the movie is not representative of the twilight book and 3 other sequels. it is a "director's adaptation" of the book. you cannot critique the book if you have only watched the movie, as i have read all the books and i really enjoyed reading through and finding out what happens. but then watching the movie? the movie is shite compared to the book, loads of important parts got cut out, simplified and ruined. new moon is out now and that is a good movie, but the book is still better.

You say the author needed to be creative and make shit up but then you criticize the author for going out on a limb on what a vampire is and how it acts. There are people who believe vampires have abilities and others who believe the sun doesn't kill vampires. All I'm saying is that there is no one definite description of what a vampire is and it's not fair to criticize the author for going against the lore you believe in when there is no one true lore. The books actually explain all that too.

Well, techniqually the original lore has changed over the centuries. In much older adaptions, vampires could walk in sunlight, but they would either be weaker or it would be a bad idea because they would appear hideous and grotesque (like a zombie). But over the years, the media has found ways to mutate the original lore to make it more appealing to the masses.
Found that out when I was taking my english literature minor.

you realise, the movie is not representative of the twilight book and 3 other sequels. it is a "director's adaptation" of the book. you cannot critique the book if you have only watched the movie, as i have read all the books and i really enjoyed reading through and finding out what happens. but then watching the movie? the movie is shite compared to the book, loads of important parts got cut out, simplified and ruined. new moon is out now and that is a good movie, but the book is still better.

You say the author needed to be creative and make shit up but then you criticize the author for going out on a limb on what a vampire is and how it acts. There are people who believe vampires have abilities and others who believe the sun doesn't kill vampires. All I'm saying is that there is no one definite description of what a vampire is and it's not fair to criticize the author for going against the lore you believe in when there is no one true lore. The books actually explain all that too.
