That last area you were in, the town, is completely recycled from Lineage 2. looks EXACTLY like the elven starting town.

Nah, the NPCs are normal length, it all comes down to how your camera angle is. In this case it's a cut-scene zooming pretty far away which might make them look small/tiny. But they aren't so no worries.

This game does have high customization, so you will see player made characters that are both huge and tiny.

These days you get beta invite by pre-ordering the game. I would suggest checking out the official site for more information.

There's only one closed beta event left and after that it's going to be "open beta". As I'm not really participating in the latest betas I can't tell what dates or how it's gonna work :) I hope they will update the game to 1.5 in the open beta so people can enjoy the version the game will be released with.

Guild Wars isn't free to play, it's buy to play. Meaning that you buy the cds to install and then there are no subscription fees. Pay to play requires you buy the cds and pay monthly subscriptions. Free to play is pretty obvious, free to download and play.

It's the cryengine 1, used to make Farcry, but still they did a great job modifying it. Stunning visuals that hardly stress resources.

its simple, wow is a good game, no one can argue with this due to the 11 million people that play it. Even though there are games that are designed better than wow, they have to have a smooth release and constant updates that are substantially better than WoW, or else people will go back or never leave. The player base is what keeps WoW alive and succesful compared to Warhammer

Probably because the preview event is over for now. The next one is July 2-6, you can't log into Aion until then.

Some beta keys only give access for a particular event. Yours may only have been valid for one event.

Pay to play keeps the kids away! :D Well most kids.. Some kids are lucky enough to get there parents to pay for it for them! D: I dont mind paying if its an amazing game, I stopped playing wow cause yeah i really got bored of it. I work full time and i still play it enough to get my monies worth :P

No, it doesn't. But it's still a very nice game that I'm sure to play. Why should you care about a game that will put an end to WoW someday? Just relax and play what you enjoy the most.

The reason why people say "END" WoW is because it IS one of the games that get you going back. Many friends including myself have played D&D Online, Warhammer, AoC, Guild Wars, amongst others and after a month or two end up going back to WoW due to lack of content or unplayability. I'm looking for a WoW killer as I mean in wanting something new that rivals content and depth and keeps me coming back to it instead of going back to old games.

Oh and also, who wants to pay for several games monthly? Unless you don't work, it's also time consuming. I've been in the habit lately of dropping WoW for a couple months then buying another card after about 2 or 3 patches (depending on how much content they introduce.) And can usually get bored by the end of the card. I don't get everything but usually have run the dungeons at least 20 times on my 3 lvl 80s by then and just gets a bit monotonous.

What are your comp specs. I have a fairly decent comp but i get 1 fps with max graphics and15 fps with medium graphics while recording with fraps... Did you put the graphics down to record?

When this game is released, I wanna do more vids and such like you have also, are you using fraps or another video recorder? I've heard some use another that does much better job because think for some Fraps used to be a bit of a system hog especially in raid events. What did you use?

Fraps is quite demanding on your computer but it's the only video recording program I've found excellent in terms of quality. If I'd come across one that's better when it comes to performance I'll definitely switch!

OK... Just wondered... Actually, Fraps is all I've used myself but back when I tried it, I was on an older computer. On a better one now. I've yet to reload it because didn't see much need to but think I will want to once I get my hands on this game. Seems exciting to me.

But one of my friends is running a P4 still with 2GB and an older vid card... So was hoping they could still get on it even though it might not be at the max settings... Even with my computer handling graphics better, I still never turn mine up 100%, I rarely can see much difference... Usually it's shadows I kill as they are heavy (specially on AoC)... I couldn't even move on AoC sometimes with shadows cranked full on it...

The best bet would be to preorder and get your beta key, try the beta 19-21 June and if it doesn't fit you can probably just cancel your preorder. (Make sure you can before trying xP).

Most people have been pre-ordering the boxed set from gamestop, although a friend of mine pre-ordered from amazon and was able to get the beta key.

From what I understand whether you pre-order from amazon or gamestop, they email the key after you've placed your order (I still haven't received mine *cry*). Gamestop has a deal that you can go and pick up your boxed set on the release date in one of their stores, but I managed to get free shipping through amazon so it's just personal preference who you order through :3

Very old computer can handle Aion, but it won't be as pretty for some as for others XD. You should tell your friends to check the minimum and recommended system requirements.

Reason why I asked is because I rarely have come across a game that actually would play on the minimum... So I never believe the minimum... I always at least try to have the recommended... But right now for me and my friends, a new computer is just not very feasible with the economy right now. I just upgraded mine some, it's probably equal to yours only I'm using an ATI 3850 in a Dell machine (Not Alienware Dell) I had hiccups still in WoW in the cities, but think it was texture loading lag.

You'll be surprised how much better Aion runs vs WoW :). The reason I said you should check minimum and recommended system is that I've had 2 of my friends playing on below minimum. Sure I can't say it was as smooth as a babys butt but it worked. If you have recommended you'll be fine, very old computers can run this game!

I don't think any of my friends are below minimum... One is sitting right at minimum though, which is why I asked... WoW used to run pretty smooth but they did something different on WotLK cause lot more complaints starting rolling in after that xpac. So to say this game runs better and looks this good, I'm definitely hyped about it now. I also played AoC and it cranked up was a nightmare for my computer. Plus no lag with all those people? It's got my money then when it comes out.

Not sure actually, they've only announced the dates for the next closed beta event which will be 19-21 or something. You get a key by preordering and there's been numerous of sites giving out for free too. Might be more for the next event so keep your eyes open :)
