The reason the Life with Larry animation looks a bit choppy and the color's not as solid is Seth basically did this completely by himself. It was also his equivelant of his disertation from animation school

What sucks is that Seth MacFarlane actually did a better job with L&S, but then decide to say, "Fuck that! I need money!", and abandoned his old animation techniques for a cheap-looking technique.

What made me pissed off (and confused at the same time) was that FG-fans rather prefer Family Guy's animation than the pilot.

@XblackswanXx the new one looks professional because it's done by a studio and not one guy on his own, but the old one wasn't nearly as bland as Family Guy. yes it's choppy and scribbly but if you'd take that style and give it a high budget it would look good, not to mention having far more varied facial expressions, character design and movement. Family Guy is extremely boring looking.

If you watch Larry and Steve, and the Life of Larry there are multiple places character names were derived from. Lois was the name of Larry's wife. Stewies was the name of the shopping center where Larry and Steve go to shop. In Larry and Steve, there is an airplane pilot with what is now Quagmire's voice.
