  • Thanks :)

  • It's no excuse to usurp the leader of a foreign country, but Iran (or any country) can't just nationalize foreign companies within its borders. That's quite literally theft.

  • @Zimnyification Not if they were taking back what was stolen from them in the first place....The British and French invaded the middle east in the 1800's and allowed their companies to "steal" resources from the Arabs and Persians...Once these cultures achieved self-determination they understandably wanted their resources back.....

  • I'M A BLACK MAN AND I DONT VOTE.. BUT I MUST SAY RON PAUL IS THE ONLY POLITICIAN IT SEEMS THAT HE IS CAPABLE OF BEING HOEST(HOPE HE'S SINCERE).. OBAMA IS A JOKE AND COWARD.. OH AND DEMOCRATS/REPUBLICANS/INDEPENDENTS ARE IDIOTS.. FUCK A POLITICAL PARTY JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEART(LETS HOPE ITS FILLED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS)

  • Interventionism because the CIA and MI6 feared that Mossadegh was going to turn Communist and provide the Soviets with oil. All bullshit, it was about him nationalizing the oil fields away from British Petroleum. So the intelligence organizations rationalized and manufactured the story that he was a Communist agent, just so the public would not wonder why people had to die for a regime change. They used the Truman Doctrine to stamp out Communism but in reality just used it for their own greed.

  • I support you Ron Paul

  • CIA PROTECT OUR FALLEN BROTHES

  • The US government makes wars for profit. The military-industrial complex needs to be trimmed back to Constitutional defense only. All warmonger politician corporate enablers need to be booted and replaced by consistently honorable statesmen such as Ron Paul.

  • i dont how people still cannot accept blowback. the iranians still blame the british for what happened to mossadegh.

  • The CIA is like NASA. A front agency for an industry that dwarfs all known "white" NASA research.

NASA is NOT making cutting edge aerospace advances. The defense industry is. Ben Rich (of Lockhead's Skunk Works) said 20 yrs ago, that we have the technology to send ET home. Breakthroughs, 50 years old..

The real intelligence structure is not known. BUT, the whole thing is controlled by an industry of sexual blackmail. (see the franklin pedophile ring)

  • Ron Paul 2012

Keep in mind Mr. Paul, that blowback may be used to justify aggressive occupation of the infiltrated country...it's big business!

  • while we were having fun daddy's been killing gooks to keep it going.

the downside of this babylon 2.0 deal

    is i'm poor.

and the leaders sucked up the biggest cash yield. but Bush and cheney and select others who are stealing my mail, because i am a political dissdent

(what they claim they were in the 1960's, but

DAvid rockefeller paid for, and i'm not paid)

they already had too much money.

if they'd been any simbalance of human they'd have ballanced their GREED a little better!

  • THIS GUY KNOWS WHAT HES TALKING ABOUT

  • Keep in mind the majority of the Cold War was American SPECULATION of communist takeover; Look at the "Domino Effect" foreign policy. So we should overthrow a government because of speculation of communist influence...only to install a dictatorship while aiding the country with nuclear material that ultimately succumbs to a theocratic government...which today we threaten over SPECULATION of nuclear weapons? We just wanted the oil and didnt think of the long run. Ron Paul wins. Buried3030 loses.

  • American Foreign Policy..... has over the years has been " He a might be a "Son of a Bitch" but he's "OUR.... Son of a Bitch!!"

  • The death toll would have been the same maybe. but at least it wouldn't have our face on it.

  • Who knows if they were right or not. I'd say they were right. because i get my mail stolen under a communist rule in USA and these cats swear up and down they are liberal, but they are fascist/communist haters. so, we were right, just they eventually took over america and uh, John Juan McCain said he knew in his deep torture rack that we didn't torture folks like he was being tortured (we did) anyway, now we do anything any sicko dictator did. today they steal my mail tommorow? camps?
  • Ron Paul 2012

  • long live Javid shah and his controll and savak.

  • The Bush administration is full of shit because in order to overthrow the Iraqi government you only needed a few people and lets face it like Americans the Iraqis are dumb.

  • BECOME A DELEGATE OR RON PAUL WILL NOT BE PRESIDENT!!!!!!!

You can sign up to be a delegate on

    R O N P A U L 2 0 0 8 . C O M

****look for the BECOME A RON PAUL DELEGATE sign up box on the top right of the homepage where Ron Paul's face is****

YOU can help change the course of this nation for the better! YOU can be a hero!

He still has a VERY good chance of getting the nomination in a brokered convention! This is how Lincoln won!

    PLEASE! We need you!

  • What makes some Americans think that they have the right to decide the faith others? What goes around comes around. You interfere and make wars on others, the same will happen to you. It is not whether if it will happen but when will it happen. Just like it happened to others, the Nazis, and the Fascists.

  • "...Jefferson, Madison, and Washington explicitly warned against involving ourselves in foreign conflicts." - Ron Paul

  • Buried3030, if you are nice to others, they have no reason to hurt you..

  • Buried.. Why do you think Sweden or Greece or Norway have no threat from terrorists? Sure as hell it is not because of their security..

  • Islamic radicals don't attack the US because they represent free democratic nations. What a batshit insane notion. They attack because of US intervention in the Arab/Israeli conflicts over the past half century. This is all common knowledge to even children living in the Middle East, but people in the US seem to be totally shielded from what their own goverment gets up to in the rest of the world.

  • Blowback! Why do they hate us?

another thing i hate is they flood USA with nuts from these countries they go in and kill. like that vietnamese guy who they refused to hire for national security .

    because they already attacked vietnam

    lolz

and he got mad and shot up some place

they flood us with the kids of their victims in a wacky effort to make it pretty. and it sucks. the ultimate agenda is in 20 years

when they have eroded nationalism and liberty completely. i'm not convinced they plan!

  • they knew how to mind their own business.

but America sought to take over the world.

i can say, that they have something nasty and like the black plague to unleash on us. because they have destroyed white folks. and this was to make it easier to kill all of us. because they are Jews and Gentiles who feel they are superior to us.

Malthus tried that too, and it was a disaster. I've felt for some time the true ruler is like a mutated crippled DNA eating homocidal outer limits type.

  • Ron Paul endorses a "hands off" foreign policy for the US yet refuses to talk about how all the other nations in the world have interfered in peoples affairs. Mainly the Soviet Union during this time period.

  • the only thing that is sad about this, is that its only had 3,678 views...

  • Its funny how people are just learning about this!! And not very many people are learning about this, but because of the internet, much more are learning. People, use occam's razor. How many people in this world do you think have the wrong information? How many people in this world know exactly what is going on? The reason is, cross reference, do not accept information at face value or you it can lead you to a mind trap.

  • I think it's wrong that countries or indiduals within it should be able to cash in on wars and conflict - wars are wrong to begin with, supporting weapon manufacture is feeding the beast in a sense. However I don't object to intervention of genecide, etc with UN approvial. the Un also needs to get it's act together(and it's member nations on an EQUAL front and have greater global power over violations - human rights and global wellbeing should be the no.1 priority. ahhh i'm dreaming again....

  • so the CIA served british interest?!?

  • yes

  • no it was in our interest to get Iranian oil flowing back into the "free world" market. It was a blow to communism.

  • It makes me angry to hear the media moderator describing this is neutral terms. Depriving the Iranians of their democracy and subjecting them to a torturing dictator was a crime against humanity.

Ron Paul,& Weedauer, thanks for helping us see WHY our world is such a mess.

  • Mosaddeq was getting royalties from the Western oil companies. He got greedy, stoled the oil infrastructure via nationalization so he could get 100% of the profits, and in response the West overthrew him. If he didn't steal, he would have remained in power. Now that is what I call blowback!

  • Mosaddeq stoled the oil infrastructure from Western companies via nationalization. Iran begged for investment, got it, and then tried to steal it because they wanted more money. Payback is a bitch. Mosaddeq was a thief. He got what he deserved. Be honest with foreign investers and you will get more investments. Steal from them and pay the consequences.

  • As long as you understand what the term blowback means, I'm satisfied.

  • I think Mosaddeq learned the meaning of "blowback" quite well. Steal from the West and you will get fucked over....unless the Dems are in office then you can do what you want without consequences.

  • We all need to become honest principled leaders in our respective communities to help Ron Paul and other honest leaders with our peaceful movement.

    watch?v=zbR4jXfQqVU

  • But...but...they hate us for our freedom! 9/11 terrosit jihad 9/11!

Ron Paul <--- Your last chance America! Choose wisely.

  • We as individuals are the last line of defense if our government fails to uphold what our founding fathers, sons, brothers, sisters, mothers ect... sacrificed so much to attain.I thank Paul in helping me wake up to the transgressions that have been made against us and our sovernity. You the audience possesses something our tyrannical pre dictator bush is afraid of a thinking brain.

    A. Continue to drink the Bush koolaid and be his slave.

    B. Wake up and defend our rights, liberties and nation.

  • VERY good video making this IMPORTANT point.

    Go RON PAUL!!!

  • How dare those damn pesky Iranians believe that Iranian oil should be for the Iranian people!

    So, let's get this straight:

Iranian oil was held 100% by the British

Iranian oil was then held 100% by the Iranians.

Iranian oil was then - after the CIA overthrowing a democratically elected government, to install a cruel theocratic dictatorship - owned 50% by the US. ??

That sounds more like a mugging, than a foreign policy.

Vote Ron Paul - before it's too late for us all.

  • BP paid royalties to the Iranian govt. Mosaddeq got greedy and stole BP's assets via nationalization so he could get 100% without paying for the sotlen oil drilling equipment. Payback is a bitch. Also the Shah was largely secular and despite his flaws he was infinitely better than the present regime.

  • Do you deny that the hostage situation could have been prevented?

  • It could have been prevented if Carter had not undermined the Shah's govt. Other than that, I don't pretend to understand the irrationality of the present Iranian regime. People that violate treaties and invade US sovereign land (the embassy) are not playing with a full deck.

  • We still didn't have to get involved. It was mainly Britain's problem and they could have dealt with it on their own.

  • This was in the days of the cold war where the USSR broke their word and enslaved Poland, Ger, Rom, Czech, and Bul. The UK was our reliable ally in the cold war. Our policy was an attack upon them was the same as an attack on the USA. Besides is is a myth that Mosaddeq was popular. After being elected, he made a lot of enemies. The CIA coup was both clumsy and inept. It read like a bad spy novel. It only succeeded because Mosaddeq had become unpopular.

  • Nothing in that section invalidates any of the points I have made. You are stretching, to try to save face.

  • The CIA shouldn't have to go around committing false flag operations in other countries in order to overthrow governments. If this was a serious threat to the United States, then we should have declared war.

  • We didn't have sufficient troops for a war in Iran, nor did we need to do that. Remember this was not too long after WWII and Europe was crushed which the US gave out aid left and right.

  • "If this was a serious threat to the United States, then we should have declared war."

No where does it say the United States had to go alone. nlpjohn said Iran committed an act of war. What, other allies wouldn't want to help bring Iran's oil back to the free world market? Besides I think we should not have gotten involved in the Iran Coup. The whole mess was over oil. MI6 could have staged the false flag ops themselves.

  • Buried3030, I hope not all Americans are as stupid as you are. I am sorry to be so impolite but you need such language to wake up. Dr. Mosadegh hated communists. He was a nationalist. Also, Iran then was influence by Islam and it was tought that communist did not believe in god. How about someone steals your resources? would you call yourself communist or christian terrorist or any other label?

  • I am aware that Mosadeq wasn't a communist. But his strong stance against making concessions with other nations made Iran unstable and actually gave more power to the communist Tudah Party. Plus, you can't just nationalize you're oil when the company was owned by the British. After WWII the Allied powers believed in trading with eachother, and were against strong nationalists.

  • Furthermore, Mosadeq became an all out Dictator prior to the overthrow. He took control of the army, press, parliament, and took all the power away from the Shah.

  • Mosaddeq was a fucking leftist prick. The Shah was a fuckhead dictator. What can we conclude? The persian area sucks cock. Don't call Americans stupid. We were the ones that had to deal with the postwar fuck ups of the world.

  • If Americans were stupid we wouldn't be in the position we are in today.

  • If it makes you think that US is an angel and others that don't agree with it are evil, then continue to think so. It will not change the fact that very day more and more people in the world are waking up to America's crime. By the way, I did not call all American's stupid, only the ones that think everything they do is right and others are wrong. You have to admit that what you did was wrong and what you are doing is wrong. Denying the crimes does not solve the issues.

  • Mosaddeq's government was against free trade and making any kind of agreements with foreign nations. In the setting of a post WWII world, the allied powers could not deal with unstable nations in such a strategic area where the Russians wanted to take control of.

  • Obviously every country has done something wrong along the way. If you are calling the involvment in the coup "America's crime" you really need to realize that it could not have been done without the British, the Shah, and generals within the Iranian army. All the US really did is finance operatives to set up rallies. It was the Iranian Army who captured Mosaddeq, they had been trying for years before that even before the US was involved, and it was the Shah who appointed Zahedi.

  • We didn't like Mosaddeq because he was a strong nationalist and basically a socialist. We sided with the Shah because he was pro-western during a time at the height of the Cold War.

  • Now you are showing the racist side of yourself. You must get out of your trailer park and at least travel outside of your county. You stupid piece of shit. You calling all Iranians name because you are a piece of white trash stuck in your trailer park. Oh, yes you are advance in making machineries that kill innocent children. You are lower than a cockroach.

  • I am not racist nor do I promote the killing of innocent children. You must have mental problems. I have travelled outside America but that will never change the way I see things.

  • So why is the *US* government overthrowing a democratically elected government when by your own argument it was a British multinational that had a gripe with them?

And why does the US government prop up military dictators like Musharref, and military juntas like Saudi Arabia (Where the US is the bodyguard), both in contradiction to its stated policy of "spreading democracy"?

The US government doesn't give a shit about democracy. It just wants governments that will go along with their wishes.

  • Britain is a US ally. By defintion, when an ally is attack, you come to their defense. e.g The Falklands war. The USA aided the UK even though Argentina did not attack the USA.

  • Bullshit. Mutual Defense Agreements are not ubiquitous automatic. And by no means mandatory in a situation like the middle east. And in case you missed it, BRITAIN wasn't under attack. A British COMPANY lost some assets/profit.

  • The purposes of govt is to protect the lives and property of its citizens, even if these violations occur in another country. An attack on BP was an attack on the UK. Just as the attack on the US embassy was an attack on the entire USA. Thomas Jefferson attacked the Barbary States when they attack US businessmen (merchantmen). Iran initated violence and they experienced "blowback" in 1953.

  • (1) Nationalization is NOT an act of war. Every country has "sovereign risk" (of varying degrees). Nationalization leads to a reduction in investment in the country, NO MORE.

Secondly, you are again stating that it was BRITAIN that had a company lose some profits, and have failed to show why an AMERICAN government should overthrow a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED government, and replace it with a THEOCRATIC DICTATORSHIP. Rightness aside, a theocracy, and not another democracy? Hmm? US: STAY OUT!!

  • Fool! The Shah was NOT a theocrat. Your ignorance is PAINFUL! And according to Thomas Jefferson, theft is an act of war as the Barbary States learned first hand. Oh, and the Shah renegotiated a more favorable oil deal for his country WITHOUT trying to steal property that did not belong to him.... In fact it led to closer relations between the West and Iran... Until Jimmy Carter undermined the Shah and the Shia terrorists overthrew him...

  • And Ron Paul wishes he could be as studly as Thomas Jefferson.... RP is good on domestic issues but naive/ignorant on foreign matters.

  • Jefferson went after the Barbary pirates with Letters of Marque and Reprisal - the same tool Ron Paul advocates (since 9/15/01) using against Al Qaeda. War was NOT (and should not be) waged against whole nations for the criminal acts of individuals. Dr Paul is a thinking-man's candidate, not a fearful bully's candidate.

You have still failed to prove that the US should have been involved, or why mere nationalization warranted installing a DICTATORSHIP contrary to the wishes of the VOTING public.

  • Oh? The CIA was given a "Letter of Marque" called operation Ajax. :) And yes, violation of US property (nationalization = theft) is grounds for war. Like I said, the UK is an USA ally. Therefore we gladly ousted that thief, Mosaddeq. The Shah peacefully renegotiated the oil royalities and Iran became a much wealthier country. It was a wini-win scenario.

  • No, you don't just get to take leaps like that. It was not the USs business. Or, at least, point me to the Mutual Defense Agreement (note the word "Defense" - you won't find one that includes "theft" being a trigger for activation), that was in force in 1953. If you can't find that one (because I know it doesn't exist), find *ANY* that have "theft via nationalization of a country's assets" as a trigger. The UK fucked the whole Middle East over decades before all this. The Iranians were wronged.

  • The "theft" of land has triggered numerous wars. The "theft" of resourses has triggered numerous wars. For all your empty words you are unable to admit this would have never happen if Mosaddeq did not intiate force. The Shah used *DIPLOMACY* and achieved what Mosaddeq could not....a greater share of the oil profits... I think I will go over your house and "nationalize" your TV set and other goodies. When you protest, I will say "quit trying to suppress me you imperialist!".....

  • It wasn't US land or US resources. Heck, it wasn't even British land or resources.

Here's a party trick for you: try to prove to yourself that you're not being irrational. Try finding ANYONE else that believes that, given a history of the middle-east being fucked-over by the Brits, nationalization of BRITISH oil assets was sufficient to cause THE USA to overthrow a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT, and replace it with a DICTATORSHIP.

Found that Mutual Defense Agreement yet?

  • The oil was Iran's.

The oil drilling equipment was BPs.

Without that equipment. Iran had no money from their oil.

Ron Paul is a capitalist. He believes is commerce. he believes is parties honoring contracts. Not only did Iran welch on the deal and they tried to steal steal the oil drilling equipment. They got what they deserved. This is called "blowback". :)

  • If you steal my lunch money, does A FRIEND of mine have the right to shoot you dead? There is such as thing as proportionality. Diplomats call it tit-for-tat. The loss of BP's oil equipment could have easily been recouped elsewhere, by BRITAIN. You don't go administering collective punishment on entire populous for 24 years because of the monetary losses of one COMPANY that pays taxes to ANOTHER nation.

You have no valid argument. You are stretching.

  • Shoot dead? Did the UK/USA nuke Iran in 1953?

Your analogy is flawed. You and your friend may pursue lawful means to punish the thief. Just as Thomas Jefferson used lawful means to punish the Barbary States. Being sovereign nations the UK/USA pursued avenues supported by their govenoring bodies to regain the oil drilling equipment. If you think it is OK st steal, then it is pointless to discuss this issue futher.

  • So it's ok for YOU to employ a disproportionate response, but not me?? Hmm?? And besides, it is my understanding that there WAS murderous suppression within the Shah's reign.

You talk about "lawful means". What we are doing now is NOT lawful, because congress has NOT formally declared war, as it says to in the constitution.

You laud Letters of Marque and Reprisal, but then turn and advocate collective punishment by war on a populous!

Keep working through it. You will come to Dr Paul soon. :-)

  • I've supported RP and given money to his campaigns for years. As for disproportionate response, I have no idea what you are talking about. BP got their stolen assets back. The thief Mosaddeq was punished... Mosaddeq had turned into a dictator his last months of office talking unconstituional powers not granted to him. The Shah was a better dictator....

  • Disproportionate response = reaking havoc on a country for 24 years, until the Shah was overthrown and the natural balance restored. Every Iranian was the victim of collective punishment. Hence the blowback.

And for what? A couple of hundred million (today's equivalent) in second-hand oil equipment?

    Like I said, "disproportionate response".

  • The history of Mosaddeq stealing BPs equipment is well documented. Even you are capable of doing a google search. Yes? And I'm my own man. I don't require the approval of others to tell me what is wrong and what is right. Theft is theft.... Except perhaps in your bizzarro world. RP is a great man but he is extremely ignorant in the affairs of the world.

  • You've still not given any valid argument for why the BRITISH even needed US help. They're more than capable of doing coups, if needed, and I'm absolutely certain they could recoup a couple of hundred million in oil equipment. Most countries/companies just take nationalization on the chin, because they know they had a good run and made squillions already. Look at Venezuela. Like I said, It's just added sovereign risk for FUTURE investors. It hurts the country in the long run. That's their choice

  • I told you, the UK was an ally in the cold war. "Most countries" are pussies. the reason why Africa is a crap hole because when ever somebody invest there, they nationalize and steal the assets. Fuck the long run. Theft is theft and payback is a bitch.

  • Well, there you go. You've just made all my points. The US had nothing to do with the Iranian nationalization, but it decided to get involved, and...voila... he we are, stuck in a seemingly endless war that is going to end only when the country falls over economically, (which won't be too long with a $1T/year war to pay for). Payback's a bitch, as you say.

Dr Paul's policy of non-interventionism would have solved all this bad history. Think of all the future bad it could prevent.

  • Thomas Jefferson's policy of punishing thieves works. Allowing thefts to go unanswered only encourages more thefts. RP is great on domestic issues but he sucks in foreign policy...

  • So you agree that Letters of marque and Reprisal are fine. Why can't you see that using an entire army to chase a criminal band of thugs is like cracking a walnut with a sledge hammer. Way overkill ('scuse the pun). RP's foreign policy is excellent for all you have described: FREE trade, travel, diplomacy. War when declared by Congress, and highly-targetted Letters of Marque and Reprisal for any action required below state level. Cheaper in both blood and treasure. What more do you want?

  • it's freaking silly that you think, britain should control iran's resources instead of iran. besides it was the brit's problem not ours. It had nothing to do with us we should've stayed out.

  • No...Pay attention.

    Iran controlled the oil resources.

The UK controlled the oil drilling equipment.

They made a deal and Iran welched on it.

  • So, it's our job to take care of the Brit's problems?

  • We agreed to go along with the coup because the oil dispute was making Iran unstable and prone to communist takeover.

  • That's an even worse idea, considering Islam would have nothing to do with communism.

  • You are an idiot for thinking that Iran was an Islamic state back then. That happened in the 1979 revolution.

  • That's an even worse idea, considering Islam would have nothing to do with communism.

  • "it led to closer relations between the West and Iran"

Yeah, puppets are good like that. Thaat's why the Shah was overthrown. His installation was against the DEMOCRATIC will of the people of Iran.

Creating and sponsoring a dictatorship is still a DICTATORSHIP, no matter how you want to splice it.
