Any book that is called the Bible is totally blasphemy there is ONE Bible and that is the Good Book of the Lord. It is also totally wrong to have pig and Bible in the same sentence. It is wrong to used words in the wrong context really it is.
@starlight76able Actually from a vocabulary standpoint you would be wrong. "The Bible" is actually a shortened way of saying "The Holy Bible" But the word bible actually derives from the word "book" or book of reference. A bible is really a collection of crucial knowledge about a particular subject. It's like saying "The pill" which pertains to birth control and pills in general which have a multitude of uses.
I know it's not as "out there" as mobilizing the rotary cultivator, but I've always wondered why they didn't find an old bicycle and build a little trailer... bikes are the most efficient transport, no extra fuel needed!
@Lukychrm42 With up to 15hp, depending on the engine, the rotavator would make getting a couple of cwt of potatoes back from the allotments rather easier work than using a bicycle.
That was foolish of Barbara. Where would they keep the horse? And they don't have enough acreage to plow to bother with a horse! They would have to turn all their property into pasture.

I had a little trailer on my bike and as you say the most efficiant way of transport, they're easy to pull than you think.
I guess though it wouldn't have been as funny a story line as the horse or rotary cultivator.
