it's not a trend.. it never has been trendy to cut. it just seems that way because more people these days are talking about it.

@biggoblyds Trend was not used in the sense of things being trendy as in fashion. Trend was used in its more clinical sense, as this was an intro to a presentation for a psychology class. The use here is "to show a tendency."

@vegetosj2: Most cutters don't cut to call attention to themselves. It is not usually a cry for help or for attention,or to "show" others they are hurting. It is usually a method of getting relief from internal pain; a physical expression of internal turmoil. For most cutters, it is quite private, and they don't usually want others to see the results.

I am sorry that you feel so bad that you are putting a 50 year age cap on your life...you are 23 and have much time to find your meaning...

Slashing your wrist in order to show others the pain you feel so others can see what your going through seems like a good idea for me. But in the end it would make me feel worse than ever I think. I am living a rough life with habits and halucinations but I don't intend to cut mysellf ever

.

I intend to commit suicide when I am 50 years old and have around 28 more years to go on living. I have alot of disabilities which ruin my life and I choose death over them anyday.

For now I endure them
