I actually like this version. A lot. The actual song may be my all-time favorite by the Beatles in terms of the melody and two part harmony (I'm surprised the Fab Four didn't have "John" and "Paul" singing at the same mic as this was written for) but in "A Hard Day's Night" they put it right after Ringo's bantering with the semi-effeminate, doofy floor director...a strange part to place what's a beautiful song. Here, I think I hear the audience join in the serenade this song was meant to be.
these guys got the spirit, not only the music of the Beatles... really great job ! The one and only tribute band worthed attention, to me ! I wonder if Ringo and Paul got to hear about them... they would surely apreciate the care of details.
This tune is one of the hardest vocal part that the Beatles do,i'm talking about Lennon's part,It's actually a different melody then the lead vocal, and as much as I'm a huge Fab Faux fan from NYC these guys nailed it. I don't know where these guys are out of,but I'm ilve un New York city and I would like to catch them if they are ever around here.
you are right, they do nail this tune, and it is a difficult harmony to say the least! They are from California and are doing a few shows in NJ this month.
I think on 12/12/09 in Morristown, NJ they are doing a gig, or were scheduled to do one! John PS--I'm going whenever they come close to me (NJ shore) because they are great, they do all of the tunes note for note, all on the money, and they even have the BeaTles mannerisms, stage similarity and check out their "A Day in the Life
Mr. Kite I have seen, and agreed with your posts, on other Beatles sites. I'm 56, a lawyer, and a musician. (not necessarily in that order.) Nice to e-know you. Martin
I get to see theae guys at Beatles Fest West in October on John's birthday!!! I can't wait!! This will be my first time seeing them!!! I hope Ron sings this!!!
I've seen these guys twice, and they are very, very good...and Getting Better All the Time!
Another great tribute band is/was(?) Rain. They're nearly as good as the Fab Four. Haven't seen them since 1998 or so, though; don't know if they're still performing or not.
This is one of the harder Beatles songs to harmonize because it changes keys after the introduction, not to mention Paul's part is a strain on most ranges. But these guys nailed the song.
The Fab Four are based out of Orange County in Southern California. I believe they are playing a regular gig in Vegas right now. Surreal experience seeing them live. This is a great, great song too.
A pretty darn good Beatles tribute band and there are many of them. The guy who is Paul probably had to learn to play the bass guitar left handed. Good job.
@whathoney73 yes, Ardy who plays Paul did learn to play bass and guitar left handed, and every member has to know how to play every instrument the real beatles did- so often 3 or 4 different instruments.
listen to "all my loving" by these guys , they are brill ,, ive not heard a cover yet and thought "thats crap or cud have been done better" , stop the bitching and enjoy the music ..
And if you wanna criticize anyone for playing too fast, criticize the real Beatles. Hell, they used to do an entire concert in 30 minutes. 25 if they were in a hurry.
I don`t think they come near the real Beatles. Nothing is better than the REAL thing!! John and Paul sang "If i fell" much better than these to copies!
Yeah we know all that mate. But the Beatles are gone, I would love to see the originals, wouldn't we all. But this is the next best thing, if its sung well and in tune then give the guys a break.
Yes mate, refer to my lower posting, I think this group are pretty good, I would go and see them. No i'm not a musician but I can appreciate the intracacies of playing the Beatles.
I was just wondering if you thought they were bad because the song. If I fell starts out kinda flat and weird andi was wondering if thats why u thought they were outa tune. no offence meant in my earlier comment, cheers
If they performed this song live, it wouldn't sound great! There is a video of the Beatles, performing Nowhere Man, and the harmony sucks, so George waves at the crowd to get them to be louder. It's in Tokyo XD
Not a good comparison, since the amps in those days and the sounds of the crowds in open spaces made it much more difficult then playing in pubs of today. There is literally hundreds of beatles live shows where they sound great despite of this and few where it is bad due to the sound. Not to mention a day in the beatles lives were press conferences, meetings and "busy busy busy" with travel. They were never rested.
Well I think that no band ever gets REST, unless they aren't touring. They could have busy personal lives y'know? But I think this sounds great, And don't get me wrong the Beatles are my favorite band, but, sometimes, they don't sound GREAT! live, at least.
Lets agree to disagree: Hey check out Stevie Riks on Youtube, he can imitate anyone and is unbelievable, be sure to Also check out his Myspace, it is scary. Listen to his Bowie, he is a comedian, but he can imitate Paul, John, Bowie, Elvis, anyone! He does split screen on his videos.
there's another tribute band called the Fab Four, in Australia, they should change their name, they have nothing to do against this, the best tribute in the world
Excellent
