@Jewlstardust I am in the marine business and always have the materials. But, they are not that cheap, better to buy already made monofin cos it costs alot to make your own.

Hi there, amazing job. Could you please tell me what the material at 0:15 is? and was it sanded down much before applying the fibreglass? Do you think a thin piece of wood would do the same job? Thanks

@apeocherio That is PVC sheeting to use for mold. You don't have to sand the PVC, it has already has smooth surface. Wood won't work for mold but if you first seal with resin and get a smooth surface then works.

ok, I got everything until you reached the last steps. how did you transfer the feet of the Fins, to your home made Fiberglass fin? What adhesives did you use? What were the materials you used to hold it, while it dried?

thank you for your comment. For fiberglass, if u noticed, there are two type. One is biaxle (stitched) and other one is regular cloth. Get the lightest biaxle so u can put more layer and it makes more stronger. For the angle, I just made a mold from regular fin blade.

Hey I taught myself to use fiberglass its not hat hard, imagine painting a T-shirt with a Thick pain with a brush. Its more complicated but you can try and get ti right. All the materials should be about 30$ except for the foot fins, but you might use something else.

Just go to Homedepot and get a gallow of resin and some cloth and practice!

Fiberglass matt

Fiberglass resin

about 6 or 10 brushes

a surface to work on

Waxpaper to cover such surface

Some fins to sacrifice

Sandpaper of choice

What did you use to attach the rubber parts and how long did you let it set before removing the clamps?

I've used Loctite 406, which I guess is cyano acrylate. Set it over night

I had OMER spearfishing fin footpockets, so, I had to remodified them with some chopping and cuttin..As you can see in the pics I split outer extensions and cancelled inner ones..

Hiya,,no problem to list the stuff that you need to make a mono but the main thing is how you are gonna apply them.. Do you have any experience working with fiberglass??
