When u chose a profile don't sing in the load cod 4 the press no you should have to chose profile again then don't sign in stop it the play cod 4 leave it then it should go on by it's self

Try the following:
1. Disconnect your router from the PlayStation 3 if you are using a hardwire connection. Delete any wireless connection profiles from your Playstation 3 if you connect wirelessly.
2. Shut down your PlayStation 3.
3. Perform a reset of your router. Check with your router manual or router manufacturer for help performing a reset of your router.

4. Once the reset is complete power on your PlayStation 3 and go to "Network Settings".
5. Go through the network configuration to connect your console to your router.
6. Once you have completed the network configuration launch the game and select "Multiplayer".
7. Once you are at the multiplayer menu sign into your Playstation Network account.
8. Join a multiplayer game session and quit and launch the game again and check for the message.

Turn Off your router
Go on Cod4
Click MultiPlayer
Turn Router back on
Play Online!!

then play but this isn't permanent and will happen everytime u quit the game
