With your comments about perhaps ONE OF THE GREATEST MILITARY MARCHES IN THE WORLD...You stepped on " HOLY GROUND"...This is THE MARCH OF THE FINNISH CAVALRY IN THE 30 YEAR WAR.
What would you think... If I would put a video here and tell people that Alte Kameraden is a Finnish fishermans song?
"Our Hakkapelites cannot have been any sort of fine representatives. I should mention a parade of the Gustaf Adolf troops in the Thirty Years' War, while the king still lived. At first went the blue, yellow, green etc. mercenaries of the regiment in their flashy gear. Then came, clothed so-so, bridles and sword straps repaired with birch bark and cord, legs hanging from the backs of their small, shaggy horses, cutlasses dragging on the ground, a troop of hollow-cheeked but stern-eyed men."
"When the Dutch ambassador inquired who they were, the last rider, a fat German Quartermaster ] in charge of the cargo proudly replied "The royal Life Guards: Finnish, pärkkele!"
OK SO I WAS WRONG, WHY THE HECK DOES EVERYBODY GOTTA CALL EACH OTHER ASS, OR SAY "FUCK YOU" OR OTHER THINGS LIKE THAT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A JERK ABOUT IT, JEEZ!
Sweden contributed nothing to the fight against evil stalinist bolshevism.
Balts probaly suffered most of the war because considering how many estonians and latvians were murdered and taken to Siberia by the russian bastards. Fucking bastards!
Everybody should read what the russians did in the Baltic countries after the summer of 1940. We also had few volunteers in Estonia figthing against the russian horde.
To all the swedes who comment. Where was Sweden during WW2?
500 swedes in the SS? Whata fuck! Even Finland had about 2000 SS-men. Most of the fought in the Caucasus.
Ula Olin was good SS-man but I still think SS-Untersturmführer Tauno Pohjanlehto was the best.
Balts and finns were the best non-german soldiers in the North during WW2. Norwegians were also pretty good since many of them served in the finnish front so I have to respect that.
But we don´t know who originally composed this march. We only know it is dedicated to the Finnish hakkapelites. The music itself could well be of German origin.
@unserdeutschland ITS GERMAN ASS THATS WHY THE TITLE IS IN GERMAN IT WAS MADE TO COMMEMORATE THE GERMAN LIVES LOST IN FINNLAND PROTECTING THE COUNTRY AGAINST THE REDS!
@Nordost44 it wasn't made then stupid ist was made I believe 1942 on Hitlers recommendation because know they could openly be proud to help Finland agaianst the soviets because they were at war themselves.
I just saw a program for one of the birthday parties of Kaiser Wilhelm II. This was on the music program! : ) They had "oxtail soup, brown bread from Helgoland, beef Rouladen with fresh vegetables, and goose liver mixed with other delicacies" for dinner!
Everytime I hear this march I get the goosebums. It's a swedish march dedicted to the brave finnish cavalry that were the right hand of king Gustavus Adolphus in the 30 years war in Germany. Long live the swedish/finnish brotherhood!

How this can be dedicated for Germans who fought whit Finnish in world war 2 when this march was already played in Thirty Years' War ?

WHAT you cant be serious! This march has been made in 1600 and its dedicated for FINNISH cavalry in Thirty Years' War.
Sent me evidence that this march has been made in 1942. This march dont have nothing to do whit Germans WW2
"Our homeland lies in the snows of the North;
the hearth of the home glowing warm and strong
Our hand has grown sure with playing the sword
and honour and pure faith lies in our record "
lyric show too that this is not German march
