I get the feeling that this will end up like those self-serve ticket machines at movie theaters that people take forever to use. The sad fact is that people are just too fucking dumb to quickly operate a machine with more than one button.
This really is the future .. almost every country on the globe should have this machines for an astounding increasing coca-cola incomes .. How can a private firm can get into possesion of "the future in beverage " ??
No- that's how soda fountains are nowadats anyway. Usually the plain carbonated water that drips out after cleans out any traces of previously dispensed liquid.
No, have you ever been to a bar? The gun they use for soft drinks gives you like 10 different options all coming through one hose. The syrup is mixed with plain water or seltzer at the nozzle, and the plain water instantly cleans it as it flows through.
Great...we've gone from a handsfree (relatively germ-free) concept to a hands-all-over-the-touch-panel concept. Watch how many kids/adults go straight from the bathroom and then select their drink. Hey, I have a name for the virus that is tracked to these new machines...ecocacoli!!!!!
Ecocacoli...wow you have such a way with words. Listen, before you go dumping on something like this you should at least try it out first. You probably haven't, since they are rare. They are amazingly cool and they let you have ANY drink you want. Coca-Cola is just making a smart move to boost their sales like any intelligent business would, but apparently you don't WANT them to be successful because the idea of socialism is just oh-so-appealing to you, so WHATEVERR.
Interesting, but sounds like a nightmare to keep stocked, especially given that there's not a lot of volume to put all those syrups into, as well as the CO2 supply.
That interface looks very nice but appears to be the most sluggish piece of crap i have ever seen, they need faster software and a touch screen thats a little more snesitive than roy chubby brown!!
Very cool, but the interface is annoyingly slow to respond. I also wonder about how long we will stand in line behind parents who bend over to ask their children which flavor they want.
The flavors come in cassette-tape-sized cartridges with super concentrated syrups, allowing to have a bunch of the fruit flavors. For something like raspberry coke, its just coke with added raspberry flavor
Where does all the flavours and stuff come from? Is there really like a crap load of cartridges of flavors hidden behind the scenes how much room would that thing take? Sounds cool, but i dunno how "feasible" this thing is.
Ive seen the inside of one, theres like a couple bug cartiges for all the normal drinks then little ones for all the added flavors, it all fits smaller than you would think
Why does the gui take so long to respond? He presses the button and like 3 seconds later it does something. When are we going to get beyond these slow guis? Computers are definitely powerful enough. But it's almost certainly because some CEO wants to save a couple of bucks, and opts for the low cost embedded processor. We can do better than this. We don't have to let CEOs force this kind of crap on us.
They really want this to help the restaurant industry? Well, if this was in a restaurant, it would be cool as a self-serve machine... But servers could never use this, it's much to slow. Waiters are constantly shoving 2 or 3 or 4 glasses under their soda fountains. they dont have time to play with touch screens
@richandbex I totally agree. A touch screen is worthless to a consumer if it doesn't act and respond as the user expects. With the invention of the iPhone the touch screen bar has been raised and just having a touch screen won't be enough to be successful.
