no, the islands was very well inhabited, way before the portuguese. Because the history u speak from is european, which didnt consider africans to be human. Like the way they discovered America, they so called discovered Cape Verde. But since cape verde has been mentioned threw African history, even in Ethiopia, we know people was there. They also would like us to believe that we had no knowledge of navigation. But we had ships and was traveling to America way before columbus.

In fact this was an isolated incident. The women were romantically involved with one of the men and the reason behind the attack was romantic. The two were arrested quickly by the police and were given the maximum sentence allowed by the law. This cnn reporting tells one side of the story and i wish they would have taken their time to check the facts.

I was there 2 years ago with my 2 closest friends (they are white) and we got attacked. One got stabbed when they took his wallet. A lot of expletives about them being white were said and I got cursed for being with them (I am mixed). I know this does not represent all Cape Verdians - I have good friends there and I luv them lots. But there is A LOT of anti whites sentiment, unfortunately.

Unfortunately this is a problem that I had heard about from other people who have visited the islands. Recently a family we knew has returned from Cap Verde where they were on a 2 weeks vacation with their kids. They described with horror how the husband in the family on return from a drug store together with his 10 year old sun, got attacked by a gang, beaten up and robed of his wallet. All this in front of his little son who had to run for all he had back to the hotel. Sad, very, very sad!
I'm wondering which island this happen on(your friend)? I don't think the two stories can be compared. I've been robbed before different trips around the world. The crime rate of Cape Verde compared to other places is small. It only has recently started increase with influx of of foriegners(not all) with tourism comes people looking for drugs/sex and there begins crime. This kind of stuff never you to happen.
