@alienkaze he varies the lyrics all the time, usually doesn't do it the same way twice... the basic idea is a grunge kid gets a letter his brother died as a soldier in war, he's heart broken and walks through his neighborhood and waves at an old couple with a flag on their porch... they don't wave, he's more heartbroken! but the words vary. probably he's trying to sing a melody more than a specific set of words.

@neongreen47 actually....those two bands you mentioned....led zeppelin, and the rolling stones, were heavily into drugs, especially for Zeppelin in 1977 when jimmy page was heavily into heroin. for some bands, drugs made the music...look at the doors, for example.

@neongreen47 i know what you mean, but i meant that sometimes the drugs in a way, enhanced their ability with the music, depending on which they used. in the early zeppelin years, they mainly smoked pot and they came out with some really bad ass tunes, then they got into more hardcore drugs and went downhill. same thing goes for eric clapton and other bands. if only they stuck with pot, we'd have better music LOL
