The timing for Lewton's sacking might actually work. After Night Watch (well, after the main portion of Night Watch, not the present day parts), Vimes was a highly idealistic copper. Never taking bribes was one of the core lessons Keel/Vimes taught him. If Vimes became captain and only then lost his spirit, Lewton being kicked out for taking a bribe would probably fit with the downward spiral of the watch at that time.
@Naylte That's genuinely funny and inspired! And it also made me realise that I now automatically hear "bah-bum-bum-tish" on the drums whenever someone puns. I should probably get that looked at.
@FantocheXIII I take it you "acquired" the full version of the song from Rivertold *points at "When you met her" in associated videos on the right*, where Lewton doesn't interrupt Sam at the end.

@CakeholeCat Ah, the pianist isn't technically the Peter Lorre role in this game (although he does look like him) - the Peter Lorre-type character turns up in a bit. ;)
The actors in this game are incredibly talented. It's a shame for them that an obsessive like myself should come along and try and work out which of the four recognisable voice actors did what! ;)
if rob brydon voices nobby, you'll find his accent is actually semi-welsh, but i think you're right, he does ;D
