  • always thought ABBA was the greatest rock group ever but Little Richard Rocks

he vocals blend in the with lyrics of the song the same way with ABBA when they sang

actually this was his peak performance in his career because he was not yet spoiled by his own

success like with ABBA...he was born in 1932 ahead of his time a freak of nature...

if Tina Turner & Little Richard ever born a child what a talent that would have been male or female

  • Man who ever put this here deserves to get some sort of medal or something!!!!!!!

  • I cant get enough of this!!! I got a liter of Vodka in me and its fuckin ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D =D =D =D =D =D x 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Wooooooooooooooooooo! the drunker I get the beter the quality of this recording has gotten !!!!

  • The coolest part is at 2:13 - 2:15! well the coolest visual of the video! My speakers havent been thrashed like this in years!!!

  • Im into heavy metal and I've always liked Little Richard but Ive NEVER heard this song in this time Ive always heard the speedier version and after hearing this I have to say that this is my new favorite song of all times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F***in AYE!!!!!!!

  • Dont knock the rock 1964. Full show on YT :)

  • I saw the VH1 Metal Evolution on the TV the other day,the shock-rock episode. I heard a raw and raunchy version of whole lotta shakin with Little Richard and this was the one. Thanks for sharing :)

  • Gotta love the horns in this!

  • Espectacular!! hace mucho tiempo lo tengo entre mis favoritos

  • Thank you for this post!

  • I'm in love with the gorgeous girl on 2:40

  • Comment removed

  • I never tire of listening to this ... I absolutly love it!!!

  • Yeah, that's truly one hell of a lotta shakin' goin' on!! It COOKS!!!

  • Anyone know where and when this was filmed?

  • @wehatemagz London England, In about 1964.......

  • Almost pissed myself watching that guy dance at 0:10 hahaha. Wasnt that considered naughty then?

  • how is it, that no one sings like this anymore? i mean, the balls in the vocals are completely unmatched

  • @babystinky : Richard Pennyman does...every time I play this track....

  • As someone has already said this son is full of energy. wont get this kind of power these days

  • I return to this clip every once in while to get energy and to remember what life is and shoud be about. I get so much out of this I don't even know where to begin, and rarely do I manage not to burst in to powerful tears of joy somewhere along the line. If not sooner just around 4:20 into the clip.

  • @DisasterBastard ..... I couldn't agree more. Only stumbled on this by chance and I haven't stopped playing it. Doubt very much if I will ever get sick of listening to it.

  • @DisasterBastard you got that right, its real rok n roll

  • This video, an amazing performance by the Little Richard, gets almost 80,000 views and some stupid puppet like Justin Bieber gets millions? Man, something's very wrong in the world.

  • @tenisprofeta hey he gives puppets a bad name! :-D

  • love the guitar bit. so classic :-D

  • @riotsquad66. It's a big thing to say 'the greatest concert ever filmed',but it's true -certainly I haven't seen anything better, and it's no small thanks to the Shirelles, Sounds Incorporated and the audience that it turned out so good. Little Richard had the best Rock n' Roll voice of them all and here he looks so young and vibrant. This is what it's like to be really alive!

  • @drabcoat 'Little Richard had the best Rock n' Roll voice of them all' Yes, he really did.

  • Only black people can sing like that!!! I really love it!

  • @TheHamburgerDeern Don't talk so ridiculous!! It doesn't matter what colour you are, any one with singing talent has the ability to perform as good as this!

  • im 65 and i remember this on tv, i was so excited i thought i was goin to burst.

  • @abzabzabz69 i only first saw this about a few weeks ago. pretty hooked on it now though :-D

  • sorry this is A classic song.

  • this is classic song. love it.

  • Looks like John Lennon at 5:18

  • I FYOU DON'T LIKE THIS, YOU DON'T LIEK ROCK AND ROLL

  • If you want to hear a fascinating interview with Little Richard checkout the film Hail Hail Rock and Roll. This is the autobiography of Chuck Berry. This film contains an excellent conversation between Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley about the early days of Rock and Roll.

  • He totally crushes it, here!!

  • sorry i meant to say this was ON vintage tv

  • this was vintage tv. so thats how i know about this song. its a really good song plus its better than this bullshit that you hear these days.

  • If there is a better Rock n Roll performance and audience participation than what occurs

was Little Richard sings "Whole Lot of Shakin Going On" please let me know.

I know that Jerry Lee Lewis got a similar reaction from his audience in a tour of

England about the same time, but I think Little Richard's performance is better -

near the end where he kneels down and then starts jumping up and down is better

than any Punk performance I ever saw.

  • he can make people dance.but can't he dance better then that.is he white or what :-p

  • it sounds much better when he stop to play piano... more room for saxes.

  • some one is realy stuppid! ho pressed dislike!

  • are you tapping your foot yet? I was in a band for 27 years and if you wanted to get people to start dancing just play this in this style. Dam I miss playing music.

  • Anyone know what year this is from?

  • @abovetheriver About 1964 in London U.K.

  • This is the greatest rock performance I've ever seen

  • since hearing Richard in my teens (I'm 45) I've found it difficult to understand why anyone else would be so presumptuous as to even attemp this (say, beatles frinstnce)

  • ROCK N' ROLL!!!!

  • 61,000 views? why is it only showing my views (and only for the last few months at that)?

  • I honestly feel that if it weren't for Richard, there possibly would be no Prince

  • Looking at this, the talent and artistry, and thinking about what we see today, I am left asking, what in the hell happened?

  • This is the best thing ever.

  • You can't beat Little Richard.

    Little Richard can't be beat.

  • this is soooooooo good!!

  • he is the best rock n roll king... really true rocknroll !! yeah shake it baby!

  • JESUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Rock N Roll is the BEST music in the whole wide world! Look at everybody just dancing and forgetting there troubles for that split moment of pleasure. People nowadays are always moody and depressed. Come on! We need the likes of people like Richard's, Presley, Cochran, Berry to lighten this world up again!

  • This is amazing

  • Saw him twice, At the paramount in New York in 1957 then again after his return from England at a road House in Seattle in Late 1964 the Greatest Live Show You ever saw in your life.

  • An American original...The Rock N Roll Express nobody does it better

  • Comment removed

  • Who is Elvis ?

  • @FREN36 Some Honky that sings boring sweet ballards. That´s mosty Elvis. He ended rockin´1959.

  • It's impossible to hate Little Richard.

  • Little Richard is the absolute best. Good night Elvis.

  • the original from Jerry Lee Lewis is definitely better in my opinion

  • Two baritone saxs and one tenor.... the sound of rock'n roll.

  • jerry lee lewis disliked this song 1 time

  • screw jerry lee lewis's version little richard's version is 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dudezsazsa

The version of Jerry Lee is superb, with HIM exploding on the stage.

Richard's version is superior, HE MAKES THE AUDIENCE EXPLODE and he leads that explosion. That's because he is a son of a preacher. I think he learned with his father how to handle the audience. He acts like a preacher in most moments of this song. His last gesture at the end of the song, meaning "I gave you all", is great. I listen to this version over & over

Excuse my english if I made mistakes.

  • Once again over here rocking with Ricky!!!!!!!!! hi from Aguascalientes Mexico!!

  • Mosh PIt of 1950.... HAHA

  • The REAL KING of ROCK and ROLL + The most fantastic SOUNDS INCORPORATED. Doe's it get any better/ I dont think so! Somebody get me some bigger speakers.

  • Damn, I've came to realize that Little Richard was the pioneer of rock and roll, he had that raw emotion and delivery that no one else had during the 1950's and early 1960s.

  • What's funny is thats the same studio and tv show where Jerry Lee Lewis had the crowd going ape-shit crazy, worshipping him as he stood on the piano and sang this same song.

  • Music unites people :)...NOW SHHHAKE WOOOOoo!!

  • When ass shaking music made u more concerned about the soulfulness *not* the shakin ass! Pure soul in musical form designed to give u an eargasm 1st & foremost ;D Check & I believe, mate - Little Richard :)

  • Elvis might have been the King, but Little Richard is THE GOD of Rock'n'Roll!

  • Does anyone know from what concert/video collection is that one?

And with major quality, of course.

  • this song rocks so hard it crashed my iPhone!

  • That's my grandma shaking in the crowd

  • Wish I would lived in that era ! the clothes, cars, music...

  • @MinosDaedalus

    Thats my wish too!

  • @vlamingkop :)

  • First head banger!Look at 4:22 woww.Pure energy!

  • Fantastic....thanks for posting

  • I can't listen to Jerry Lee Lewis' version after hearing this.

  • 4.22 is 100% pure rock'n'roll !

  • Cool I love seeing Little Richard Shaking like that so long ago now !!! ROCK ON EVERYONE !!!

  • huh, funny kinda you only see white kids dancing....

  • lmao@, the guy with the glasses in the begining. He was really going in!

  • C'mon,,,,let's all dance!!!

  • Was that my Grandpa in a mosh pit?

  • in other videos people accused elvis & pat boone stealing little richard's song so why is the reverse acceptabe? soiciety's double standard.

  • @jeryd2003 thats cause there ignorant, no body stole anything, they just did cover gigs of everybodys music is all

  • And the world said:

    screw war lets fuck :)

  • the guy with the glasses in the crowd who is dancing in the first scene is absolutely brilliant. The "moves" are so good.

  • where was this show was it London? and What year

  • @DanTex1950 Yeah it was london in 1964 I believe

  • WOOOORD

    music is soooooooooooooooooooooooo good

    i cant believe it

im 17, listened to that when i was 12 and got laughed at

now i remember the old things, and i know whats the virtues, whats the skills

and i know that IT AINT WHEEZY

it aint soulja boy, it aint drake

shid, my greatest wish was to live back in the days, these times

  • Wow! What a voice! Such passion. You just don't hear that kind of raw, unpolished emotion anymore in these days of auto-tuning and slick studio effects. Also, this video has immense historic value: it is incontrovertible evidence that white males suffer from a tragic dancing deficiency (FYI I'm white LOL)!!! Maybe it's genetic. No doubt Elvis is The King. But let us never forget Little Richard. He is forever (and in his own words)... The QUEEN Of Rock N' Roll! Rock on, Your Majesty, rock on!

  • you goddamn right!

  • Nobody does it better, if you missed him in the Early days you missed everything, there will never be another

  • rock and roll

    the best little richard

  • someone must invent a time machine

  • One of The Roch`n Roll Kings

  • @bayive THE rock and roll king

But he is awesome, i am hooked on this sledgehammer style of rock'n'roll.

  • damn he can sing very loud lol

  • What a great way to wake up in the morning!

  • The greatest live concert ever filmed. Criminal that this hasn`t been properly released on DVD. Anyone got clips from the Shirelles opening performance?

  • One of the fathers of modern music.

  • That's real music 100/100

  • u´re right

  • iggy pop doesn't have a handle on this guy

  • A master class in rock 'n roll. Watch, listen and learn.

  • DA BRIVIDI.

  • just real rock and roll done by one of the best original masters of the genre........

  • A very young Jimmy Saville at 1.30secs.

Hows about that guys and gals

  • This music makes a man feel like a bull and a little child ! What a combination !!!!!!!!!! coooooooooome oooooooooooon!!!!!!!!!

  • around about 3.18 he lets rip, just awesome, about the closest thing to rock 'n' roll heaven you're likely to get

  • somebody can get injured!

  • This was done in his 2nd comming, there is a studio version from his first comming, no matter he is fantastic. you had to see him in person, the best Live show on Earth.

  • is that guy at 0:08 being attacked by bees?

  • No he's not attacked by bees. Its just the thing when music is so good that your body just starts to move

  • The real ROCK'n ROLL!!!!!!!!! YEAH

  • holy fuck this is awesome

this is the motherlode of rock

  • Glückwunsch zu Deinem Geburtstag, Tinchen 8) !!!

  • i disagree in a big way with how a college level music course would judge a "quality piece" I mentioned L.R. as being the best composer and was damn near laughed out of the room. If you judge music on listener reaction and not based on how difficult the sheet music is to read L.R. is the best. Sometimes the best art is simple and straight forward.

  • @BHBrother87 well said.

  • A lot of cherries got popped that night.... in more ways than one.

  • Long live Little Richard! First heard Little Richard 50 years ago I finally got to see him live about 4 years ago. What a thrill of a lifetime! He was electrifying - put on a great show... his dark eyes were flashing and he had the whole crowd rockin'! He's still got it!

  • Thas Rock and roll!!!!!!

the architec of rock and roll

  • Fantastique le type qui dance au début !!

He totally owns the place !!

  • He finally lets go at 4:22. Love it!

  • Yeah!

  • Vou dançar está música com vc!!Te amo!!!

  • can you not love this man?

  • I`m in Rock N Roll Heaven !! Amen !

after watching this , anything else is Less !!

  • quello che balla dopo 10 sec...... è clamoroso.....

  • simply the best! =D

  • This fantastic!!!!!!

  • I love this clip. I can not stay cool.

  • Lo maximo

  • Utterly Outasite!!!

Impossible act to follow - love the bit when he takes his jacket off with the air of a man who knows that he's got the whole audience in the palm of his hand.

  • As Good As It Gets / Sounds Inc were just the most Fabulous backing group. once seen never forgotten/Massive wall of sound.

  • GERSONFSILVEIRA: Thanks for bringing it back again!

  • the gals in the sexy black dresses are the fabulous Shirelles

  • this was originally recorded into about twelve parts, and all twelve were on here about a year agao, they were taken off because of copywrite I believe

  • Gersonfsilviera must have a recording of this and maybe he has all of it I hope, as I was there and would love to get a copy of the whole thing, it went for three hours

  • The only way you can get this music is to record it on your computer and then transfer it to a disc.... this is from a concert given in london in 1964 tthe shirelles were in it and the band is the english group SOUNDS incorporated this is rare and will be taken off this site as soon as the owners realize that it has been put back on...... ENJOY whil e it lasts

  • this song the best, lets get down lol

  • this is excellent!! crank up the volume at home, this is raw power!

    4:21 ;)

  • haha!!! holy s+++, that man is rocking!! :)

  • What a great performance. I truly wish that I could have been there, it must have been absolutely electric. Those kids were so lucky.

  • I love the way the croud surge on to the dance floor as soon as Ricky opens his mouth,

The guitar solo part @ 2:30 when he takes his blazer off...... My God this is so Gangster, How the hell do i get this exact version on MP3?

I desperately need this in my car!

  • 0:10 to 0:17...dayyyum!!

  • MUY BUENO, EXCELENTE

    UNICO

  • Best video ever posted on youtube, Little Richard is God.

  • Love the sludgy sexy pace of this version.
