@nrare21 Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were supposed to be the same game, but were separated due to time constraints. You join them by placing one cartrigde on top of the other(or just play it on a emulator). So the order you should play is Sonic 1, Sonic 2, then Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

@nrares21 yes theres a sonic 3 and knuckles in sonic and knuckles you can lock on a certain game if you put in sonic 3 you get sonic 3 and knuckles 2 games combined to 1 but theres no big arm unless you play as knuckles if you put in sonic 2 you play sonic 2 with knuckles and if you put sonic 1 you can just go to the special stages from sonic 3

Ehh...I won't rage like the other sonic fanboys that went berserk over your lack of Sonic skills. But, doing things this way for the emeralds, I'll have to go with instinct and say that was a pretty cheap way to go about it. Like I've said to other people, games in the past are better by a long shot mostly because when challenge is given; people strive to achieve it. Now, it can simply be cheated or shared amongst others. You lose the actual experience and enjoyment in my opinion. But yeah...

@kincachuWarrior That's easy to answer really. Hyper form gives off an illusion of the original. Since Sonic is moving at speeds faster than sound and relatively closer to light; his body leaves off an after-image in his movement.

@JackSamuelSs Yes, Hyper Sonic. Due to Sonic 3 being split into two separate games, there's a super form in both. But, when playing the full game of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles together for the full story; Sonic goes from Super to Hyper. It would seem odd to lose the emeralds a second time and get them again to just go super. Thus, Hyper Sonic, Knuckles, and Super Tails were available. This is the only game Tails goes super. (Not Turbo Tails, that's totally different)

CHIM! you can play the original sonic 1 game in sonic generations, by buying the extra at the skills shop in the main hub using the points you get while playing levels, you should play the original game as far as you can (you can buy unlimited continues at the shop as well)
