I had to call home because I brought a muzzle loader sabot to school that my dad pulled out of a deer. fortunatley, my dad said " it's just the same as bringing a marble to school".
When I was 10 I brought a fixed blade to school because we were going to the woods that day from school. The teacher had given me permission earlier to bring it, and after we got back, she took the knife from me, never said anything about it and when I remembered my dear knife two years later and asked the teacher about it, it took her months to remember to bring it back for me. The knife had more wear on the coating than it did when she took it, damn bitch used the knife as her own.
Holy fuck. What is going through these people's heads? When I was 9 I brought a pocket knife to school for show and tell. All that happened to me was the teacher took it away from me for the day and told me not to bring it to school again. Schools these days are completely out of control. I can't believe that anyone seriously thinks that this is an appropriate punishment for a 6 year old.
I just got suspended for bring 2 illegal switchblades to school. how did i get caught? my friend snitched on me. Now im getting 2 tickets for consealed weapon and disturbing the peace. ALSO i could be expelled from my school permenantly and have community service
@element23111 dude i just got 92 school days of suspension for a switchblade. i have to go to family court. and my "friend" snitched and called crime stoppers on me. im fucking PISSED
my bro brought a pocket knife to school and got a 2 day out of school becuase he wanted to be safe cause their is a child predator on my block, how does that make any sense at all?
This case involves a six year old with no intent to harm a sole. You take the Swiss Army knife away from him, explain to him why it is wrong to bring the knife to school that he planned to eat with, and suspend him for a day or two. A forty-five day suspension is a joke. Not only have parents gone south over the last 25 years but so have schools. Only in America!
If these teachers, principals and school board members in the USA have no common sense, then how in the hell are they going to teach these kids? You cannot group every incident into one policy. You show common sense and handle each situation appropriately. If they were getting paid more, would they? I doubt it.

Fuck that kid. Rules are rules. If you give him slack... you must give everyone else slack. Thats how shit works. I don't have a face or trouble either but at 24 years old I bet my ass would be grass.
I dont think 45 day suspension is appropriate, but if a child at the school had the intent of hurting somone, then he could just grab the knife from the innocent kid.
As hard as it may seem, the rules are for everyone including this "angel" looking kid. I really don't know if 45 days of suspension is appropriate. However, we don't know all the details of the story. The "news" only tell us what they want us to know. May be he has taken knifes to school before and threatened other children. The school can not reveal that. It is private information. So, for now, I will stay cool.
45 days is far too long. At that age, the amount of information they cover is immense. A talk to the parents and maybe a day or two at the most would be needed.
If it were a 15+ year old who brought in a knife, it'd be a different story, but a 6 year old?
It shows how one blanket rule for a broad age group doesn't work.
45 days.... Scared of a 6yr old with a Swiss Army knife ? Because of Columbine ?? Now I've heard it all.
"Let's kick the kid out for 45 days to teach the 6yr old a lesson."
WHAT ever happened to educating the kids ? I guess its easier just to toss them out of school when they do something the district doesn't like. No wonder the schools of America are failing. We're more interested in punishing than teaching. There are crimes worse than carrying a knife to school get shorter sentences.
45 days is out of line, a punishment deserved yes this no. I could kill people with a pencil but a little kid, I doubt there intent was such. you could take say 5 days and have a briefing with parent/child with the school. I have a child older then this, and he does try to sneak things to school. that's why I check his book bag. and I remind him that only thing you need is yourself, homework books etc.
How irresponsible is that? Just have a talk with children of this age.
Now this child is marked for life.
Doubt if the school even briefed the children at the beginning of the year as to what can and can't be brought to school; nor the parents for that matter.
