  • Very good. Keep up the good work

  • That is a LOT of range on this lady and she did an outstanding job! She actually did hit that out-of-tha-galaxy note, on the last America even though she did not hit it on the home. Don't know what some people were talking about. True soprano! Beautiful voice!

  • Let me help you out, that is her real full voice ascending in to the heavens. I bet you don't have 100th of her range!

  • Steph -

Nice job, especially for not having any vocal training when you did it. I've sat in the orchestra pit as an instrumentalist playing this arrangement, and I can tell folk that it is VERY difficult, not only for the vocalist, but for the instrumentalists, too. David T. Clydesdale is the arranger, and he really knows how to "push" both the singers and the orchestra to get the sound he wants. It's tough, but when it all comes together - WOW!!

  • nice job...it would also help if you would pull the mic away when hitting the more powerful notes, it would sound nice and the sound man wouldn't have to adjust your mic as much. Watch how Sandy Patty does this on her vids. again good job

  • I know the arrangement is kinda crazy. It has a really nice backtrack tho. If the recording had been better you probably would have been able to hear it. Like I said my vibrato is much better now that I actually have a vocal coach, who by the way is most def. amazing ;) Thanks for your comment.

  • I hope you haven't lost the range!

  • Nope, its actually gotten a lot bigger. I've been taking vocal lessons in college by a very fabulous teacher named Sandra Carney, so I sing a lot healthier than I used to. I don't try to over darken the tone anymore so that has helped a lot with vocal fatigue and the little bit of wabble in my vibrato back then. Whew I can't believe how long ago this vid was. God has brought me a long long way since then and He's really blessed me.

  • @okebaram I start the song in chest voice and then mix it as it gets higher. Once I reach about an Eb or E usually keep it mixed and then move into full head voice at about a G or Ab. I'm not sure of the notes in this piece (I don't have the sheet music in front of me) but I know it goes up to a Db6;obviously I'm singing in head voice there :D Hope this helps! If you want more info PM me or something; oh and check out some the arias on my page! I'll be posting more later. Blessings!

  • Its been a while since I did this song. My vibrato is much more in control now that I have a teacher. I had never had voice lessons before this year so cut me a little slack ;) Thanks for all of your comments even if you didnt like it.God Bless You

  • yeah she needs some more videos.

  • Um, okay, I am not having a comment war with the likes of toricaballe. To Steph, you are a wonderful singer and please keep working toward your goals.

  • By young soprano, I mean young in her training. And "base" is spelled b-a-s-s. She is also not singing in modal voice. Post a link disproving my comments to justify yourself. You are wrong.

  • stars not SARS....you're not bad, a little boring...

  • Haha, girls don't have falsetto, it's physically impossible. She's improved since this vid and she is has place 2nd in a NATIONAL competition and won a full scholarship.

  • ...YES! GIRLS DO HAVE FALSETTO!!!

  • Very nice! AND here you even get professional critics. Where else can one get free professional advice?

  • opra? ew. this hurt my ears

  • I don't know how old you are, but you seem like a young soprano. Not bad. I know from personal experience that this is a very difficult song to sing. Watch your intonation on the high stuff. Remember to pull back the mic on the louder sections or your sound will be even more strident. Keep working at it and good luck.

  • Soprano eh? Very nice pitch and sound, fantastic sound, amazing voice, she's a lot of talent!

  • Oh, sweetheart u had me until the last note. C'mon darlin'that is what makes that arrangement so amazing. It's the last D sharp or E flat (however you look at it) that just blows this fantastic arrangement out of the park. Me thinks one ought not to sing a song, if one cannot sing or reach all the notes. That's what me thinks.

And what was up with dude behind you? He looked uncomfortable and awkward. Prolly didn't now he was on camera. Hmmmmrf?

  • I am a opera lover, and when ms. Patty sings this song, i get chills. Big time! But this was not that god. I'm afraid this was more squeeking than opera to me, but nice, though.

  • WOW!!!!!,,,,.... oh my GOD! .... I'm a BIG fan of Sandi Patty, and I must agree with everyone!!!! SHE WILL BE SOOO PROUD OF YOU.... YOU WERE FABULOUS! ..

  • THIS IS BEAUTIFUL...GREAT OPERATIC VOICE...NICE TONE AND VIBRATO...I TRULY ENJOYED THIS AND HAD CHILLS!!

  • You talk about taking on one of the hardest arrangements and one of the best voices of all-time...you were absolutly fantastic!!! Sandi would be so proud! I was blown away and that is saying something!

  • I know she can do Mariah carey songs. Great operaic voice. I know she does not smoke. I heard four key ranges. Do some more soon.

  • Mariah & Operatic voice?.. no correlation... mariah is melismetic

  • For what your type of style is

  • Her voice is amazing!! You would make Sandy Patti the original proud!!!!

  • She appreciates the comment.

  • @lildrummer1987 can you remind her to answer my question below.
