  • he is okay.. :D

  • Oo no spin protectors back then.. OUCH!! them gravel traps are shocking aswell... looks like type 1 MOT you get from builders merchant. big grey stones they use as hardcore LOL.. madness

  • Kayalmi was one of the most Infamous Circuit in all of motorsports!!!

  • the good old time of the legendary heroes...no tc,speedshifters and all this shit..only a 2 stroke beast a rider with big balls and 100% pure skill without this digital managment bullshit...

  • ohhh smoking kills but hey well advertise it!

  • for the last one, he could have just locked up the rear wheel, and slowed down, its not like there was a wall there, he didnt have to bail like that.

  • @theodorbrinch Its not that easy tho. At best the dirt will slow you down before you hit something. Some surfaces like gravel slow you down too much and cause the bike to tankslap heavily like what happened to that guy. If ya strong and motocrossed a lot + lots of luck you might stay on. Slicks + brakes on anything but tarmac will almost always spit you off one way or another. Same goes if you try turn. On rough stuff like this its even worse because the suspension is so hard.

  • good old kyalami

  • Those bikes looked pretty clumsy back then. Look at the amount of sand on the track, holy crap...

  • Thank god for the helmet at 0:39

  • This is where riding like this belongs, in a controlled environment. Imagine that kind of accident on the interstate. Yet some people do treat the roadways like a track. I love motorcycle racing!! long live the sport

  • I remember at least three falls of Sarron in which he hit his head on the ground hardly. I don't know how come a head support such a damaging career.

  • 5 stars circuit

  • stinks in my room when you sent this mail

  • This is why now the tracks are groomed on the sides and have gravel, here it is hard pack, rocks, weeds, the dirt drops away at the track edge. Motocross is still at this level

  • FUCK OFF YOU SHIT HOLE!!

  • You white motherfuckers need to stay out of Afrikaans territory nothing good will happen for you. Go back to wherever you came from and stay out !!!

  • iDIOT AFRIKAANS IS THE WHITE AFRIKANERS LANUAGE . JOU MA SE MOER JOU SWART VARK. JULLE IS TE DOM OM GELD TE MAAK. GAAN KAK JOU SLANG.

  • Well don't reply Bitch!!!

  • was thi at Welkom racetrack??

  • blue rider had good control i think because of the oil drip in the middle of the rode his bike slipped completley

  • quite ordinary accidents but impressive if you notice at that times they hadn't any shell to protect their backbone yet.

  • tipical two stroke ( sarron ) locking up when off the throttle. great riding back then. bring the blue haze back. ahhh the smell

  • Yeah ..good ol Kyalami...back in the day

  • Yes Eddie Lawson won the 500cc. and gave him high hopes on agood season, however push starting was still done at the beginning of the race and his Yamahas refused to start if not for that he would of had more parity with Freddie Spencer.

  • The gravel traps weren't invented yet?

  • This race was won by Eddie Lawson, second was Freddie Spencer.

  • helmet saved there lifes.

  • Haha.....South Africa struggles to get grass for the track.

  • how is that funny!!! sand hurts like hell dude

  • no protections=big hurt..

    alays wear protections..not like them

  • it was a race and they wore the best protectins of the 80's

  • yes you are right..i just wanted to say to wear safer protection than they had=)

  • It is kinda funny he rolled just as far as his bike... too bad he couldnt like hop back on it before it went too far away from him

  • Actually.... It was kinda funny xD

  • No the number 6 (Christian Sarron) did not break his arm and on that same race (South African GP 1985 Kyalami) he finished on the podium.

  • Correcting myself Sarron finished in 6th that race

  • That arm is broken for sure.....

  • broken arm (n06) for shure... U can see the forearm spinning free (about 00.58) BAAADDD!AHHHH

Nasty and Nice video! That is the truth about the yamahas 500s.... real serius work!.... no time for fools or doubters..

I have an RD 350 (aka TZ350 in US)89, here in Brazil... Nothing like ride a thing like that!

    YPVS rules!!!!

  • The RD/RZ 500 rules mate... it's the 350's bigger brother!

  • @deanjfk this yamis here are only tz.....rd 500 lc ypvs are only a nice replica with a common v4 engine...for me the engine looks like they have sticked together 2 rd twin engines and thats it...if you are interested in real gp technology...look for a rg 500 gamma...thats the true stuff, square four engine with rotary disc intake controll.

  • that turn is dangerous lol

  • don't the bikes look bobbins back then.

  • It seems the number 6 rider broke his right arm.
