A wonderful counterpoint to the tragedy of Air France's Flight 447 Airbus 330 accident where complete reliance on technology without true "Aircraft Commanding" skills and judgment cost many people their lives.
@AngolaAirman You are, of course, correct. I was referring to the first made with fare paying passengers onboard. IIRC, they were only told after then had landed! :)
more proof the FAA's bullshit rules that your stupid headphones or little iPhone or laptop can't be used during takeoff and landings for the safety of the airliner's electronics itself is utter and complete fantasy, non-science, and bullshit.
Heck, they could have just tailgated that Korean Air B747 all the way from the start of the approach jajaja only kidding. Nice video and cool to see the amazing approaches that automation and precise sat/radio nav make possible these days . . . let's just hope that airliner technology never gets to the point of removing human pilots altogether to save costs :-)
@ounpug actually there is a thing in the aircraft...forgot wat it as called...that helps pilots taxi...cant remeber wat its called tho...some pilot i talked to at an airport once told me
Premium stuff, thank you!

And to think, this technology was first used nearly 50 years ago on the old Hawker-Siddeley Trident...

@FrontSideBus As I recall, the first Cat III - at least in the US - was done at either IAD or DCA with a United sudCaravelle in the very early 60s.
