Thank you for posting this. I read about this speech in the New Yorker and was sorry to have missed it. Capt Jon is my cousin, tho I have never met him, and I am very proud of both his service and the love of country he shows here.

I served with Capt. Kuniholm in Iraq and I have a very high level of respect for him. That said, I do not agree with his opinion and am one of the many Marine veterans that wants to see the Iraqi mission completed properly no matter how long it takes.

What if we had this attitude about Japan and Germany?? It took decades to finish those missions properly! Where would we be today if we had such near-sighted vision then???

Hey thanks for trying to speak for the Marine Corps. Just so everybody knows, 75% of all Marines support John McCain. Look it up if you dont believe a marine that is still in and still listens to his fellow Marines. I would be honored to serve under John McCain, Obama gets elected and i am getting out of the Marine Corps. Its all about who i trust.
