I know how this guy is was feeling last time I went to meps. I went to join the army and scored a 22 on my asvab! nine points short....... I might be taking it again soon I hope i get a qualifying score this time.
i honestly do not see how you could fail the ASVAB i was told you couldnt do 11B option 40 if you score higher than a 85 because you are basically considered "too smart" as my recruiter put it. so the last section or two i totally guessed and i got an 82 with a GT score of 110. not that difficult
I think people must score low pretty often because when i talk to my recruiter and he prints out my jobs list he seems somewhat impressed because he has to print out all 5 pages. Don't know if this is true but it just seems like he wasn't used to people scoring well on the ASVAP - i got an 83

@MriKeepit1000Percent It's usually the marines that float around the 30s, Army average is a bit higher, Air Force average is usually the highest.. I went Army and got a 94 on my ASVAB tho, so there is always the exceptions.. either way, once you start ur mos training, ASVAB scores no longer matter.. 89D EOD
I got a 60 on my ASVAB, but I had been out of school for a year and I spent less than 10 minutes into studying. I wish I woulda spent at least an bout and a half a day for studying, but my goal was only Security Forces.

@omgitsarpg You can choose to go to FMTB after A-school. Completing FMTB means you are able to go to Marine commands. Corpsmen who haven't done FMTB are sent to the hospitals and ships.

@GreyWolf xM16 I would say that i'm alright at math, now when it gets to calculus i'm not very good. But don't worry, there's no calculus on the test. The practice test is not long, you do it on the computer, and each section is timed. The mathematics portion ranges from elementary math(2+1=?) to algebra questions. Now, the arithmetic portion I was a little rusty on.....its word problems that you figure out mathematically, but I did alright. I'm sure you'll do fine.
@GreyWolfxM16 And if you do struggle, you can study, there are good resources online to use, and then retake. But I doubt you will need to. This guy on the vid must have a learning disability or something. Don't let his experience make you nervous. Gook luck.
The first time I took the ASVAB i made a 15 the second time I took it I made a 20 the third time I took it I made a 26. Im going to take it in december. I do very well on the math part its just the reading I need how on. Does anyone have any tips on word knowledge and paragraph comprehension?

Have you invested in a Prep asvabs that you can buy? I am not sure where exactly you can buy one, but I would suspect that a 5 minute research would uncover a (online) or a physical store to buy one. Study up, and re-take the test.

how stupid can you be to get a 30.. your line scores might just be high area specific. like you might have scored really high in aseembling objects or math knowledge and low in (obviously) word knowledge and common sense.
youre not going to get in. if you cant even pass the test, you wont make it through basic.

@bigbootybre813 yeah. i actually took the practice test twice. once with the air force (57) and one time wit the marine(48). i jus took the real test on tuesday and got a 78. it was really nothing to put yourself in panic mode

I took my practice asvab and got a 79 without even trying....Like i did all of the arithmetic and mathematics in my head without writing it down. The asvab is supposed to be easy man. But I guess being a meps could alter your performance.

@GreyWolf xM16 I would say that i'm alright at math, now when it gets to calculus i'm not very good. But don't worry, there's no calculus on the test. The practice test is not long, you do it on the computer, and each section is timed. The mathematics portion ranges from elementary math(2+1=?) to algebra questions. Now, the arithmetic portion I was a little rusty on.....its word problems that you figure out mathematically, but I did alright. I'm sure you'll do fine.

dont take the paper version unless your quick solving math problems i took both versions (computer) and(paper) i prefer computer because it gives you less questions and more time, i scored a 45 on computer and a 20 on paper. well good luck on your process of enlisting

Have you invested in a Prep asvabs that you can buy? I am not sure where exactly you can buy one, but I would suspect that a 5 minute research would uncover a (online) or a physical store to buy one. Study up, and re-take the test.
