  • This is a great sound and your playing doesn' hurt either! Great job and thanks for demoing the amp. I have ordered one and am eagerly awaiting its arrival!

  • @danstune ...Thanks so much.I hope you enjoy it...I'm sure you will

  • These really do sound like some of the later tweeds, complete with overdriven tubes and hiss and everything. wonderful sounding amp. Very Musical, thanks

  • @solerso68 ...Thank you very much.Nearly three years on and I am still loving this amp

  • tell us more. less playing and more talking is needed.

  • @pleximanic1 ...Thanks for stopping by

  • @fendermac please dont listen to mister pexi i enjoy good commentary

  • @URBANLAKEMUSIC Thanks very much...bit of playing - bit of chitchat.That's all I can do really.lol

  • did you get that amp from.... little amp ton...? lol

  • @pmay222 ...Sadly not...Neither 'Ampshire nor 'Ampstead neither.

  • This amp sounds better in this video than live.

  • @mradosovic ....Lol....must be my cheap but magic camera.I really like the sound in the room.Maybe you've heard a bad one.

  • @fendermac Maybe, I think I will check another one because I like what I hear from your video very much, but the one I am talking about was in my room and I played it for two days(after that I went to where I have bought it and asked for money back)and the sound was terrible if it's crancked over 7. You have "like" from me, all your videos are great! Maybe you have the magic one 'cause your review of this amp is the best on you tube:)

  • @mradosovic ...Thanks for the very kind words....It's a shame that you didn't enjoy the C600 you had.I really love it.Maybe I have been lucky...

  • wow, you definitely made this amp sound amazing. But that guitar probably has a lot to do with it

  • @stretch90 ....Thanks...In truth this guitar doesn't sound better than other Stratocasters I've played through it and the Les Paul Junior sounds spectacular. It's a very nice little amp.

  • @fendermac

I'm actually thinking about trading my deluxe reverb for it since I don't use it much. Obviously not straight up, but these videos make it sound better to me.

  • @stretch90 ...I think the Deluxe Reverb is a much better amp but it is four times the size, power and price.Lol...If you can try 'em side by side That would be interesting I'm sure

  • @fendermac

One thing I don't like about the deluxe is that the channel that has the reverb and vibrato is much harsher than the other normal channel. From the video I like the tone of this amp better and then I could use the extra money for something else I would want.

  • @stretch90 ...That sounds weird although it's been a long time so I wouldn't back my memory on the difference between D.R.'s channels....bit of extra spending money is always good though that's for sure.

  • You have officially sold me on this amp. The small speaker makes me nervous, but it sounds beautiful in this video. Great review.

  • @RetroMouse70 ...Thank you...you'll love it I'm sure

  • Anyone who complains of this amp's sound or lack of power has no taste and no class.

  • @goldenhopper ....Haha! I know what you mean although people do like their knobs and buttons and bells and whistles don't they? What can you do?

  • i got this amp a few days ago its awesome! great clean tone for pedals

  • @TheSchoolsux345 ...there are so many digital/solid state/modelling amps around that it is a treat to plug into something beautiful and simple.

  • @fendermac Exactly. My friend has an awesome 78 strat (i think thats the year) and an old peavey tube amp, probably from the 70s, and hes a beginner so he got a line 6 amp. You can imagine my frustration.

  • @fendermac I have mine hooked up to a 4 ohm 4x12 by crate. i like a stompbox or two and the native speaker doesn't overdrive quite as well as i'd like. Yet within the boundaries of its design, I feel it is the perfect small amp. Like if I'm driving 2 or 3 pedals through 5w it gets a little blurry, I can't praise it enough though. Affordable, clean, beautifully designed, and the PERFECT blues amp.

  • @docmartian1969 ...couldn't agree more.Thanks for dropping by.

  • OK, Gotcha, thanks. it's no wonder i keep forgeting if i think it's an A chord!!

  • @MITCHWILD ...I have no idea if it's right - it's 30+ years since I played along with the real thing - but it feels right and sounds pretty good to me.Lol

  • What's that Mr Big chord? is it A minor with a diminished seventh or something?

  • @MITCHWILD ...Um....it's just an E with a pinky-played D and G at the top...E7ish kinda jobby

  • This clip was a big help when deciding whether or not to get myself this same amp. Great, great, great little amp! I only play around the house and it's perfect for what I need it to do. That said, when the wife's away I like to turn it up! If you take the back off, the speaker is actually plugged into a 1/4" speaker out jack. I run mine into a 2x12 cabinet and it sounds huge! ...and it's still not loud enough to rattle the windows. Anyway, thanks for posting this, it was helpful :)

  • @chuck1016 ....Thanks so much for the kind words.I really appreciate it...and I'm still loving the C600 as I'm sure you are yours.

  • I love your videos- I think Fender should hire you and send you to NAMM and you would sell thousands of champ 600's . that's my take

  • @TwoTewToo ....Now there's a job I'd like.Lol....I don't think it'll happen mind you. Thanks very much for dropping by and for the kind words.

  • love the "ta daaaa" unveiling of the champ...lol.... this demo does sound superb..i am close to getting one of these... i have a practice amp with all the digi effects on..and its always very unsatisfying playing it...one is always fiddling with the sounds rather than just PLAYING....... the strat sounds superb.... nice one

  • @pmay222 ...I've spent this afternoon plugged straight into the C600 and it's great to just play quietly with nothing turned up full,no effects,no nonsense.I do love this amp.I sometimes fancy a G-Dec but I knew if I had one it would be gone in a year and I'd hate myself for wasting the money.Lol

  • Just back from music shop after watching this. Bought the amp! What a great sound! Half the time with other amps I sat fiddling with effects more than I actually played! This amp just makes you play! Thanks very much! John. Scotland.

  • @j66hng ....Thanks. I hope you enjoy it

  • Hi, GOOOOODDDD Playing !!! GOOOOOODDD strat and great old Champ 600!

Please, where can i find the hey joe tab??? Wonderfull round hot sound like hendrix spirit.

    Thank you

    cheers

  • @pierrotmacholvy ...Thank you.The C600 is a brand new reissue and I'm afraid there are no tabs - I don't use them.

  • that sounds great. i cant understand all those modded champ videos, which sound like crap. thanks for the demo

  • @strscrm ...Thank you very much.I guess some people have more money than sense.Lol

  • is it loud enogh for a large room?...brilliant amp! and very cool playing!

  • @brooscaar ...Thanks. If you are thinking of gigs then i would have to say probably not

  • I now have two of these little gems after picking up a barely used one for $99 USD... One for home, the new (used) one for taking along to jams. I had planned on doing a mod before I bought the first one, but I found these amps need nothing, just ready to play out of the box.. Achieving that vintage Fender tube tone that you highlitged here in your video. Nice Job! And I hope all is well your way!

    Cheers!

    -SW

  • @six6wings ...Thanks for that.Yeah! I've seen a few videos of modded Champs on here and I must say I also like it just the way it is.

  • I have sold a few of these litttle gems - I just had another turn up as part of my Fender dealership - I have to say of all the small valve amps this one most reminds me of my favourite Hendrix (low volume) tones ie Catfish blues that sort of thing. Oh and great playing fendermac. ! Thanks !

  • @Creepycottages ...Thank YOU.I know exactly what you mean about the tone.I love it! I wish your shop was nearby...I'm desperately seeking employment.Lol

  • It sounds awesome! It´ll be my 1st tube amp for practicing at home! I really like to play John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix etc :)

  • @EdgarBeja ...Thanks very much.I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

  • "veiled", good adjective

  • @ExplodingBody ....It seemed like the only word for the job.

  • wow you sound great! I want one of these amps now

  • @edwardtang1977 ....Thanks so much. They're great fun for sure

  • My new fav place to come watch and hear guitar videos. You come off like a really nice man! Keep posting

  • It's kind of you to say so...thanks so much

  • you just sound great! but in which input channel are you there in the vid?

  • Thanks.Low..then high from 3.21.

  • Thanks for the video, it pretty much convinced me I need a Champion. Also, let me say you play great; you have that certain inherent quality which makes it really enjoyable to listen to. Cheers~

  • Thanks so much for those kind words.

  • none else played it so good on youtube...now i really like this champion...your fingers make it sound just like a real champion! good...i think i'll buy it!

  • You're very kind ...thank you

  • sold!

  • Haha...thanks.I wish I was selling 'em - I could use the money.Lol

  • Reaaaally sweet sound... great playing... you got me convinced =D

  • Thanks so much

  • your brilliant, i'm going to buy one of these tomorrow to compliment my Fender USA std. great vid, thanks for posting!.. will post a response when i get mine.

  • Thanks for those kind words...you'll love the amp I'm sure.Look forward to seeing it

  • What great playing. Love it.

  • Thank you so much

  • just bought one of these, great amp

  • Enjoy!

  • Bud, You sold me one too! Now Fender needs to pay you a commission for sure! The tonal quality of this little amp is awesome. I made a small demo video with it. Hope you enjoy! Best wishes! You got a great channel!

  • Your video is great...thanks for the kind words

  • Paul, you sold me. Fender should pay you a commission! Great video and nice playing...

  • Lol...I wish. Thanks very much for the kind words

  • beautiful tone, hey i love your accent pal.

would this amp be any good for a john mayer kind of tone?

  • I don't know his sound well enough to comment really. You should try one....and thanks

  • I love it! It's simple and... well amp-tastic!! I would just add him an fender-twin reverb.

  • Thanks

  • Sounds beautiful, man and nice playing style. I 'm thinking about buying this amp and your video convinced me that im making a good choice.

    Greetings from Serbia!

  • Enjoy it...and thank you.

  • Great tonal demo!Nice touch too.Silly question,I see this amp has an open back,do you think it would offer interesting properties for recording? How do you think it would fair with a precision base?Too many questions!!

    Thanks.

  • Thank you...I think it would record well but suspect that a bass would be too much for it.

  • I enjoy your vids...you certainly have a great love of music and guitars...and your conversation is so personable...like I should buy you a beer and chat !

  • Thanks for the generous thought...cheers.

  • Really enjoyed your video and enthusiasm shown. By the way, love the strat tone, what was the model on the strat. Take care

  • Thanks...it's a CS '57 relic

  • When is your birthday in october Paul? MIne is the 13th.

    Awesome playing!

  • Thanks very much...15th me.

  • I have just bought one of these amps what a sound from a small package makes guitars come alive

  • Couldn't agree more.Thanks for dropping by.

  • I don't know. You must try one and see what you think.

  • I just gotta say that this video made me think about spending my hard earn summer work money for this amp and maybe a tubescreamer... i'll give myself a week or two to think about that :)... great sound your getting from that btw!!!

  • Thanks very much...you should try one for sure.

  • I will... just need to roll together the money and find a used one.. the prices are crazy today here on Iceland :/

  • I guess when they've been around for a while people will start to get rid of 'em.Good luck.

  • thanks

  • oh yes i forgot to ask...

does it work well with pedals?? like overdrive pedals?

  • I never use pedals with it....I don't really know.

  • hahah okey.. maybe becouse you got the sweet ass cleen tone :P

  • Lol..Thank you.

  • your demo really makes this amp sound the best on youtube! normally they sound to fuzzy because they turn em all the way up all the time

  • Thanks so much for those kind words.

  • I'll be off to college in a year and I looking at low wattage tube amps that i could use in the dorm. I haven't been able to check one of these out but it sound awesome I was just wondering if this would be too loud because i do like a little bit of grit also. your thoughts are much appreciated

  • I suspect it would be annoying in a dorm situation. You need to try one.

  • Very nice demo, thinking about picking up one of these, or the new tweed champ.

  • Thanks..whatever you get I hope you enjoy it.

  • Great Video : Buy an American Stratocaster now before the end of October and you get of these for free!! I am lookin at the American standard candy red with Maple neck.

  • Thanks....I was happy to buy it - free sounds great!

  • Thanks very much...Free sounds great.Lol.Enjoy it and your Strat.

  • Those clean tones are to die for!

  • Thank you kindly.

  • im getting one how would a boss bd2 blues driver sound with it??

  • I don't really use boxes so I don't know...pretty good I should think.

  • ok thanks :)

  • Thanks! I must get one,it's funtastic!

  • You'll love it I'm sure.

  • Great sound! Is the regular amp from the store?

  • Yeah! Literally straight out of the box.

  • Hey Joe!

  • Um...yeah!

  • Haha...I've just listened again.Hey Joe of course - and Mr Big!

  • Heh, you seem like a pretty nice dude.. glad u like the amp. thinking of getting one myself... but maybe bit extra for a pro junior or blues junior would be better.. not sure..

  • Heard a guy gigging a Blues junior - sounded fantastic (miced of course). This one not giggable I think...good to see you.Thanks.

  • can this thing handle some drums? xD

  • You'd need to mic it up for sure..

  • hey thanks for answer. a boss sd1 is an overdrive

  • Sorry..I know what it is but I don't know if it would sound good through this amp-maybe not.Let me know.

  • it might sound muddy, lots of little amps sound shitter with lots of volume or tons of drive.

  • yeah...I wouldn't add any pedals to this sweetie.

  • yeah, those a wicked little amps, maybe the best amp for $200 you can buy.

  • would this amp sound good with a boss sd1 and a ibanez les paul? greets

  • I think the guitar straight in should sound cool...SD1 I don't know-maybe not so good. Thanks for dropping by.

  • Great !

  • Glad you enjoyed...thanks.

  • just a magnificent fender sound!!!!!!!!!!

i imagine this amp, with a boss blues driver!!! wow!!!!!

the clean sound is close to the perfection.....maybe with the grace of Master Paul????

  • Many thanks...it does sound sweet.

  • Great review, Paul!5/5

  • Thanks very much indeed.

  • If you replace the speaker grill cloth with a proper one, it makes a huge difference. The original 'suede' type cloth has no airflow. I did this simple $3 mod to mine, and I never looked back. cheers.

  • Interesting..thanks for that.I actually quite like the sound but it makes sense, what you say.

  • Great demo, indeed! Fender should hire you to sell this product... you've convinced me! :) And great playing by the way.

  • Hahaha...I wish. Thanks so much.

  • great demo!! Yours sounds alot like mine, i really love the old school tweed tone. Many hate the fart-y character of a small tweed style amp. I think its definitely because of the guitar and the fact many dont 'get' how to use an amp like this--its not for tryin to shred on, its a mellow all arounder and single coils definitely do better with it..my gretsch loves it! but the '58 reissue les paul does nicely too

  • I'm enjoying it so much.P90s love it too.Good to see you-thanks.

  • oh how true when you said thoes days are gone. i havent played in front of a crowd of people since 2007 i miss the money but not the crowds.

  • Time marches on...

  • Glad you picked one up, it's a little tone bomb, for sure...hope the new year's a good one for you!

  • Thanks eg...happy new year to you.I'm still very much loving the amp.

  • sounds great : )

  • Thanks so much.

  • you should record more videos with it

  • Ooh,I'm sure I will.

  • Ahh I was so close to buying this very same Amp, Someone once said a Fender amp is the perfect company for a Fender guitar and they were right.

  • It's still pleasing me immensely.:)

  • thatd be keith richard's lil quote

  • A Champ.a Champ,my kingdom for...

  • wow that little thing sounds great, very nice

  • Thank you...I'm still loving it.

  • Hi Paul,

It's been a long time! Thanks for this demo. I'm still loking for a 5W tube amp.

This one sound good...Because of you ;-)

    Chris

  • Merci Chris. You must try one-they are really lovely.

  • haha.. got myself a champ 600 about the same time you did. what i like about it is the fact it does not try to reproduce the sound of some other big and expensive amp but instead seems to have a character of its own.

    anyway, cheers and have fun!

  • It's been like getting new guitars.I love it.

  • Happy New Year! Your friend, Gretsch'n

  • Good to see you....and to you.

  • I am not really an expert in this cases. But I have two ears and want to say that this amp sounds wonderful. Thanks Paul for the introduction!

  • Thank you Lena.

  • i dont know what i love better hearing you talk ,play ,sing ,you are so wonderful .the whole package .big love to my jazz man ;)

  • Thanks honey.

  • Great vid, you rock!!!

  • Thanks so much.
