  • good XD

  • *is kind of insulted*

people HAVE played SRW and such that the other hacks were referencing.

And seen, in the case of anime references. If you don't know japan, don't assume everyone else doesn't either.

  • This level looks a lot like it came out of a Donkey Kong COuntry level . . . . just in 8 bit version

  • I want to know how to change the music whaa!!

I need to change where does the game read it from or what?

  • Like how the fire changes color throughout the level.

  • this is a stage from donkey kong on the snes...right? just modified a bit to appear to be megaman...even kept the DK music...still looks nice though

  • I want to try and give it a try. I thought it was a nice touch on how he used the Sky Stage's map theme from Mario 3 (I think that's where it's played...)

  • Kirby Music when you beat a boss lol

  • oh my god. i freaking HATE that level. i remember at the end with the oil barrels in DKC it tooks me hours to realize if you wait then the fire dies out. i kept trying to jump on em in between the intervals. BTW amazing job.

  • that was astounding

  • That's awesome. You hardly ever see MM5 hacks, let alone one that's done this well.

  • Whoa! More RNR and Kirby!

  • The full Version is NOW released.

  • i went to datacrystal and no link available can you help me out with that

  • Check PART 1 of qzecwx's video.

  • Yeah ok, i got it, sorry i'm a dumbass, how long did this take you to make? what did you use to hack the graphics and music? you can pm me that one if you want, but i've been after this info for a few months

  • I didn't make it. It was TAR.

  • Oh...my...God...

Someone hacked MM5! And not for the bad!!

    Knowing this MADE MY DAY.

Thank you for the video :D

  • TAR is the guy who made Rockman Minimum!

  • Great Job and playthrough of this hack. I wonder if the full version is out yet.

  • I've been wondering why there aren't more hacks of the later NES titles out there. This one looks promising, as does that MM4 hack (Megaman Forever, I think).

  • Is this game out? Where can I get a copy?

  • woot kirby wins :o

  • Pretty cool that they incorporated the real time weapons change ability

  • The Donkey Kong graphics are alright, the conversion to 8-bit seems decent enough, though it looks really hard to tell where most of those platforms 'end', I imagine it's kind of a psyche-out until you get used to it.

Otherwise, this hack looks pretty sweet.

  • I had a really difficult time with Star Man and Gravity Man. Any advice?

  • Star Man is easily gimped when you figure him out a little bit. From the start, jump his initial Star Crush throw. When he brings the shield back up, he'll either throw it at the peak of his jump or right after he goes down. If at the peak, time your slide to the other side so it goes straight down. If at the bottom, jump it. It's a little tricky to get back into the pattern when he does this, however. As for Gravity Man, I haven't fought him yet. Hope that helps. =D

  • Gravity man is probably the easiest. Just charge a shot and shoot him when he changes gravity. He's weak to the star shield.

  • "Just charge a shot"

Tell us something we don't know.

"He's weak to the star shield."

No, he's not. They changed the weakness cycle and he's now weak to Gyro Attack. Charge Man is now weak to the Star Crush.

I'll post a video on how to beat Gravity Man pretty easily, perhaps this weekend.

  • Donkey Kong graphics, I see. Wow, this looks epicsauce.

  • Isn't this based off a Donkey Kong Country Level?

  • Wow, that looks awesome! Can't WAIT.

  • I can't believe they didn't have Megaman do a Kirby dance. You can't put that theme in there if there's no dancing!

Are there any plans to change the weapons at all?

  • Most of the weapons HAVE been changed already (Gravity, Napalm, Stone, Wave, and Star).

  • Gravity - uses up less ammo [2] per use, allowing for a total of 14 uses.

Napalm - the weapon falls straight down, rendering it worse than before.

Stone - different trajectory for the stones. I personally find it harder to use.

Wave - goes slower, but can provide as a projectile shield of shorts.

Star - I failed to notice any difference with this weapon.

  • Star's in the same boat as Gravity -- it just uses less ammo.

  • Oh wow, I can't wait for this thing to come out!

    It looks amazing!
