i love doing these too :) like this one, its different but still a growing picture :) by the way, i think 6 people didnt watch the whole video to se the picture grow ;)
Thank you! Love the allowing piece, allowing what arises to be a part of the mandala. Also the seed metaphor. Can't wait to get started! I will check out your website for more ideas.
This is beautiful. My teacher was showing us this video in our art class, and I was mesmerized. I knew I had to draw one in this style, so I did. I'm greatful you made this video, and I plan on drawing one with this technique every day when I have time.
@cosmicartist ~ I am using stabilo fineliner pens in this video. When I draw with pencils (as in the other video on my website) I use prismacolor pencils. Have fun!
@TheUndeadDream ~ Yes, definitely -- most of the mandalas I've done are more precise. This video is so that everyone (even those who aren't inclined toward exact detail) can learn the basic idea... On my website there's another time-lapse video where you can see me measuring things out... Blessings to you.
You may easily use the design as a channelling of spiritual energy (just integrate your own symbols into the design, a sun and moon, for example), and who says meditation and relaxation isn't spiritual? When someone meditates on the image of a deity and the energy it radiates, is this not spiritual? Of course it is, for this is a something innumerable amounts of people do to tap into their own spirit...
It sounds like a neat artform... But why are you trying to make this spiritual? What you are experiencing isn't spirit... it's meditation and relaxation... If you have really experience the spirit of God you would know this... You would never be the same.. It is nothing like what you are doing... You are just making art... very cool art, but just art.
@orangegold1 I don't think the presence of a god or even religion is required for spirituality to exist. Kindly look up the larger mandalas made out of colored sand by monks. They get very large, the more intricate ones take up to about a week. Then before sundown on the day of completion, it is destroyed. This is to teach us the impermanence of beauty in the physical world.
Mal para los qe lo qieren hacer, empezas despacio para despues haces todo rapido y no se nota lo qe qeres hacer y las cosas qe le agregas, la verdad qe no me gusto para nada lo tuyo.
@gofiofact0ry ~ Glad you enjoyed it! And the music... The music is my instrumental "Light Waves" included on the Songs of the Heart CD on my website, or as a download on the dharmatunes website. Thanks for asking. ❤
thank you so much for this beautiful video, and especially - since I am Deaf myself - for making it accessible for deaf and hard of hearing viewers. I would love to share it on my blog, Deaf Pagan Crossroads (google it!) Might I have your permission to do so?
@phoenixx75 ~ Thanks! The music is part of a 20-minute instrumental I recorded called "Light Waves." It is on my CD which you can find if you google "Prema Akasha CD." Thanks for asking!
@eatmyfeet88 - Thanks for asking... To repeat it 8 times around the circle is just the easiest way to do it for beginners because it's relatively easy to mark the 8 parts evenly and it fills the mandala better than 4 sides. This kind of mandala can have any number of sides, but 3, 5, 6, or 7 sides are harder to make even. You do want to turn the paper each time you repeat the shape... that makes it easy and meditative.
hi there, bout a year ago i watched this video.. i wanted to get into drawing mandalas, iv been drawing since i was old enough to pick up a pencil, always drawing the darkness.., mandalas always seemed too complicated for me, but after watching this is video and trying again it was just fun, peaceful and has led me into a new phase of my art, im starting to draw and paint light, and i cant help but think one of the main reasons for the U-turn was your video, thank you ♥ keep creating
