@MrRyan60 Ahh thanks mate! glad to know your enjoying them! 70013 is that special engine that I enjoy seeing weather it be stood static or storming through a station. Love it! thanks for commenting!
Thanks for posting! My wife and I are relishing a trip to Norwich behind No 13 coming up this Saturday Sept 20. Is there a polite way of asking drivers if it would be err umm ... 'OK for us to ride on the footplate while the loco. runs round'? That would be a buzz as our trip is in celebration of being married 33 years, and my wife's grandfather drove the Cambrian Coast Express. As far as I'm concerned that means I'm 'related to royalty, by marriage'! What a job? To drive steam locomotives!
I am in search of a train enthusiast that can shed some light on a train crash that took place during or around the second world war just outside Manchester, believed to be on the Buxton Loop. The Train driver was Harold Smith, London Midland Scottish employee B 75117 railway service. I would appreciate any scraps of information about this crash, not to be confused with the crash at Buxton in 1957.
Rain or shine, 70013 sure knows how to go about her business as only she knows how; pounding along like a jackrabbit and whistling like a banshee. Agreed with hurleyfunbags, welcome back Oliver Cromwell!
Deaf?!! Are you kidding me?? The 12 hours before I was to film 34067 in Torbay I went on a night out in Exeter and came out of a nightclub nearly very deaf due to very loud music!!
yeah gota agree there, casltes are nice locos dispite me only seeing 1 and it wasn;t in steam! dont think i have seen a princess royal either, that may change very soon
5029 Nunney Castle along to come with 5043 Earl of Mount Edgemcombe will be on mainline duties for a long while yet so ya might see 'em. 6201 has only a year left till her boiler ticket runs out.
Oh him the Welsh kiddo, him who boasts about small locos being better than big engines, well he outa be a bit mindfull 'cause most purists do like big engines (including me) so he outa be a bit open about mainline engines rather than boasting about it.
I dont kick up a fuss about small engines!
Plus to get the fact that he's in native Devon NOT Newport
i myself like both tanks and bigger engines differently as you really cant compare the two, tanks were mainly for light loads were as larger locos were for major expresses and long freights, my 2 favorite locos are 14xx and A4s btw, anyway, i should be seeing 6024 on the 24th, after i been to the SDR 50s and 60s gala
Yh how about if I take a photo of me standing alongside a King and Josh takes a photo alongside a small prarie then both compare the difference, though my pic would frankly out-do his due to the size of the King!LOL
The Kings were the GWR's answer to its premier status under Pole and Collet and thus became pride of the fleet. 4575s were only small engines on small little lines doing minor work they only did small work
Yes Devonian's are lovely people hence why I have been on holiday once to North and 5 times to South Devon. Its a nice county, probably the best in the UK, with superb scenery and views.
Wow I can see why you like her so much shes faster than some of todays trains that run on the network! :) btw I really enjoy watching your videos.

GreatWestern175 3 years ago
seriously, this video dont do the noise any justice, you had to be there to hear it for its true volume
GWRDec 3 years ago
Britannias maybe fast and powerfull beauties but GW Castles and LMS Princess Royal locos are the most loudest!
GreatWestern175 3 years ago
yeah gota agree there, casltes are nice locos dispite me only seeing 1 and it wasn;t in steam! dont think i have seen a princess royal either, that may change very soon

GreatWestern175 3 years ago
i think 6201 is doing scarborough flyer(different to SSE) duties this summer so i might be seeing her some time soon
GWRDec 3 years ago
i not to sure i'll see either of the castles this year though, unless 1 comes to york again
GWRDec 3 years ago
also i have a message from JBTEvans who is on holiday in devon at the mo, hes says that 4575 classes are better then those two for loudness lol

hehe, yeah that'll be fun, mine will be out done more as 14xx are tiny locos LOL!
GWRDec 3 years ago
i can bet that by taking a pic or my dick and it be then that not
NXEC125 3 years ago
a 14xx would look bigger in a pic as well they all the same on pic now, it is all about what you like.
GJDobbzy 3 years ago
Depends. Kings are boring, look the same as a Castle, Hall, Grange, Manor. 4575s are unique
JBTEvans 3 years ago

GreatWestern175 3 years ago
Yes and you'll be glad to know I went to the SDR and PDSR.
JBTEvans 3 years ago
Glad? I'd much rather know how you thought of Devon and its native residents.
