When all is said and done and everybody wants to knock Dana White, Pride, Ufc, Elete, Etc! Go and watch WWF, and whats left of the Pro boxers. It's all gone!!! Pride sucked BECAUSE of that "entertainment factor" trying to turn that BS into some queer wrestling spinoff. My point was not big names my point is that people are starting to look at guys badly when they loose which makes guys afraid to loose. That is ONE of the reasons that guys where more agrasive in Pride than in UFC. Lesnar got pushed becouse UFC put so much money into him even though he was unproven they should have waited untill he had more fights under his belt.
George Chavelo was made on a loss to Floyd Paterson back on the 60's, mind you most people feel is should have been an even draw it was that close. (thats boxing). Even if you lose a hard fought match you can still come out looking good.

Dream is awesome guys. its great to see random fights with 2 guys going balls to the wall, rather than having fights selected to suit the one contenders fighting style.
no fighter protection, no blanketing (yellow card & wage cut prevents that), no adverts every 60seconds. its mma at its purest, & imo, at its best.
Dream is good but it Just don't think its there yet do to the lack of Heavy Weights. The LW Grand Prix was a good thing though and something UFC should have been doing already.

Dana's biggest fuck ups are that he refuses to give people the money they deserve and his refusal to work with other companies and make co-promotions with others.
I mean, Nick Diaz is fighting Mach Sakurai for a Dream title and KJ Noons for a lightweight title by the end of this year. Elite XC, Strikeforce, cage Rage, Affliction, Dream, IFL, HD net, and World Victory Road are all working together to put on amazing fights.
That's the big problem with the way Dana runs the company, if he was willing to co-promote People would see matches they want all the time. We would have seen Fedor-Randy, Chuck-Wanderlei (when it was most relevant), BJ Penn-JZ Calvan, and a ton of amazing match-ups that we won't get without co-promotion.
Yeah I would agree K-1 and PRIDE made it work UFC could make it work as well. Yeah I know Joe Silva does I just usualy use Dana as the NAME since that is the one most people know and HE should know that they are not doing a good job with the match ups.
MMA Reviews much like boxing Reviews are lame unless you are reviewing a match that is AMAZING. There are to many variables let alone if you have to great fighters that have a styles clash. that is not fair to the fighters to say they had a bad match when there is not much they can do about a styles clash....Yeah Except Dana still couldn't out Draw K-1 in Japan which is the BIGGEST MMA market so yes he might need to change something...REmatch Draw MADE Boxing so that is just dumb.
They bought pride and almost everyone has said it has ment nothing. MMA does not need to mimic boxing but there are things boxing does or did that MMA should do. Also Japan is still the biggest market for MMA don't beleave me go look at K-1s numbers.
vitor is on the banned card, and i'm watching it. its the best card in MMA in a long long long time. UFC lost Andre and now hes on affliction. aleksander is on it. and alot more big names, matt linland, sobral, barnett, rizzo. great card.

Global Fighting was a bit eh to me but the DREAM stuff has been good especialy the GP that have i seen. Danna and the other promoters still fall in that trap of trying do the same things boxing does with out seeing that alot of those things lead to the problems Boxing has now. I was not able to go into the Money thing but yes I know that is a problem. Its another one of the things UFC didn't learn from Pride Plus a whole host of other things.
MMA(mixed martial arts) is the name of the sports, and UFC(ultimate fighting championship) is the name of the league. and about the video, MMA is easy to review when you brake it down specificly when you look at the different aspects of each fight and what happened. if someone gets knocked out by a knockout artist then its a good fight, if its not sloppy and if they both exchange. Pride was good though, but my first MMA fight i saw was vitor belfort vs tank abott.

At least Dana was smart enough to book Liddell vs. Silva besides Liddells loss to Jardine. But it did come off good story wise as both had lost there last 2 fights and are considered the two biggest light heavyweights in the world.

Go back and Compare any PRIDE show and you will see what I am talking about. They are better than most boxing cards yes but most boxing cards suck ass unless its one of the big Latino geared Super cards. Even match ups that where just kind of there in PRIDE always ended up being good most of the time. UFC not so much as they have a habit of having lack luster undercards. The Problem with that is that they are the only game in town when it comes to top fighters so that is not cool.
Aside from Dana White not being a very good president for UFC, I think UFC is perfect. Every one of their fighters might not be great, but on the whole, UFC is the better package. EliteXC has potential but is very disorganized. Pride was great but, but not very smart. What's the point in having better fights if you let your company go under ? Anybody who doesn't like UFC, must not be too big of an MMA fan or is holding on to the past. UFC itself is fine, Dana White is the problem !!
The Reasons Pride went under was do to it being found out they had silent YUKUZA partners. So there TV was pulled and they died becouse of that it had nothing to do with them not drawing or makeing money.
i dont know how many times i have stated this to new age ufc fans the fact is ufc could never draw 91,707 fans pride already did at pride shockwave in 2002 with k-1,ufc could never draw 67,450 people into any venue in the world unless they gave out free tickets pride held two events in america and did over a $4 million total gate.ufc could never hope to do that in japan
I am not a new age UFC fan, bud. I loved pride and love MMA in any company. BUT as good as PRIDE was, they F'd up business wise. Unless you consider being backed by the YUKUZA to be good business. Good fights and good booking are one thing, good business is another. And it takes BOTH to make an MMA company last. UFC has pretty good fights, great ones in my opinion, and Dana sux.

UFC tickets sell. The only time I watch UFC is when Brock Lesner, Ken Shamrock, Tank Abbot, or Kimbo Slice fight, and a lot of people laugh when I say Mark Henry should go to MMA, but look at Big Show. He was slow as crap. If Henry lays off the chicken wings and gets the same amount of training as the Big Show or Golberg, then he could go somewhere.

Pride sucked BECAUSE of that "entertainment factor" trying to turn that BS into some queer wrestling spinoff. Pride had a TON of good talent, a TON of great fighters, and they made them look like goofballs. Not everyone wants mma to be tainted like that. Dana doesn't make the matches, Joe Silva does.
Dana's biggest fuck ups are that he refuses to give people the money they deserve and his refusal to work with other companies and make co-promotions with others.
I mean, Nick Diaz is fighting Mach Sakurai for a Dream title and KJ Noons for a lightweight title by the end of this year. Elite XC, Strikeforce, cage Rage, Affliction, Dream, IFL, HD net, and World Victory Road are all working together to put on amazing fights.

MMA Reviews much like boxing Reviews are lame unless you are reviewing a match that is AMAZING. There are to many variables let alone if you have to great fighters that have a styles clash. that is not fair to the fighters to say they had a bad match when there is not much they can do about a styles clash....Yeah Except Dana still couldn't out Draw K-1 in Japan which is the BIGGEST MMA market so yes he might need to change something...REmatch Draw MADE Boxing so that is just dumb.

Global Fighting was a bit eh to me but the DREAM stuff has been good especialy the GP that have i seen. Danna and the other promoters still fall in that trap of trying do the same things boxing does with out seeing that alot of those things lead to the problems Boxing has now. I was not able to go into the Money thing but yes I know that is a problem. Its another one of the things UFC didn't learn from Pride Plus a whole host of other things.

MMA(mixed martial arts) is the name of the sports, and UFC(ultimate fighting championship) is the name of the league. and about the video, MMA is easy to review when you brake it down specificly when you look at the different aspects of each fight and what happened. if someone gets knocked out by a knockout artist then its a good fight, if its not sloppy and if they both exchange. Pride was good though, but my first MMA fight i saw was vitor belfort vs tank abott.

Go back and Compare any PRIDE show and you will see what I am talking about. They are better than most boxing cards yes but most boxing cards suck ass unless its one of the big Latino geared Super cards. Even match ups that where just kind of there in PRIDE always ended up being good most of the time. UFC not so much as they have a habit of having lack luster undercards. The Problem with that is that they are the only game in town when it comes to top fighters so that is not cool.

Aside from Dana White not being a very good president for UFC, I think UFC is perfect. Every one of their fighters might not be great, but on the whole, UFC is the better package. EliteXC has potential but is very disorganized. Pride was great but, but not very smart. What's the point in having better fights if you let your company go under ? Anybody who doesn't like UFC, must not be too big of an MMA fan or is holding on to the past. UFC itself is fine, Dana White is the problem !!

UFC tickets sell. The only time I watch UFC is when Brock Lesner, Ken Shamrock, Tank Abbot, or Kimbo Slice fight, and a lot of people laugh when I say Mark Henry should go to MMA, but look at Big Show. He was slow as crap. If Henry lays off the chicken wings and gets the same amount of training as the Big Show or Golberg, then he could go somewhere.

Let's see, Chuck Lidell lost 2 in a row, Matt Hughes has had some tough times lately, Jardine, Griffin, W. Silva, Hendo, Mir, Vera, Gonzaga, Herring, and do I really need to continue. All of these guys came into some tough loses and still have contracts with the UFC. Oh and why doesn't Dana do what pride did? Let's see Pride is dead, and the UFC is a multimillion dollar company. Yeah i'd copy Pride if I was him. The UFC does not need Fedor they will be around longer than any other org.

Pride did not go under because of any business mistakes, they went under because their sponsor pulled out.
Pride put on bigger shows, in front of larger crowds, and made more money while promoting better matches than UFC ever has.

Compleatly Ignore that Pride did over 10,000 people with the first US show. PRIDE would have been fine if it wasn't for the YAKUZA scandle. They where doing good Biz over here without live PPVs.

Are you kidding me? He doesn't know how to set up fights? I guess selling out arean's, and doing almost a million paper views means nothing. Oh and Dana White is and never was a boxing promoter. Have you even heard what the guy thinks of boxing? Oh and yeah Pride was way better, corrupt ref's, no sanctioning, and guys using illegal substances, with no testing. And plenty of guys get rewarded for how they fight regardless of the outcome of their fight.

when was the last time the ufc did a million ppv buyrates ufc 66 which was dec 2006 which featured the two biggest names in ufc and in mma tito is now gone and chuck is getting old and not with grace it seems,oh and he was talking about pride shows,their shows on a allround factor were much better than ufc's,pride gave fans what they wanted entertainment and great fights and you think if a fighter lost a close fight he doesnt deserve another fight do you?

If he knew how to match make he would have better undercards. Even if he had 16 major shows with PPVs and TV a year UFC should have much better undercards. Oh and you could say the same things about K-1 that you just did about PRIDE and trust me UFC will never go toe to toe Agaist K-1 in Japan unlike what Pride did. Also the reason why they don't have Drug Tests is becouse the Japanese see drug testing diferntly than we do.

I'm starting to get into MMA recently since the WWE is lackluster and TNA is WCW circa 2000.
Hate to say it but what is got me into MMA isn't UFC, K-1 it was Kimbo Slice. Now I'm starting to watch all MMA orginizations.
I heard Mike Tyson wants one last payday and fight Slice. WHile I think it won't happen I would love to see it for the freak show it would be. Wonder why he didn't fight Bob Sapp?

For all the failings of Dana White, the man who is running the Affliction show is even more of a prick bastard. And the reason Pride let the guys who fought well and lost stay in Pride was because every contract they ever had was non-exclusive. Pretty much means "You fight here, but you aren't OUR fighter", Just in case a guy loses so much people start to wonder. Dong Sik Yoon anyone?

Ali vs Inoki was just them walking around, Inoki kicking Ali's legs. There wasn't really a match, it was just them dancing around eachother with half eachothers attacks being banned from the match.
